NO POWER WHATSOEVER.
I plugged it in to the wall and a I get a red LED for about a minute, and then it goes away.
This is my FIRST DAY w/ the GS3.

i just bought the tmobile galaxy s 2 and was trying to root it. obviously i did something wrong and now its stuck on a black screen. it will not power on AT ALL and when i plug it into the usb it looks for driver QHSYSB_DLOAD. ive tried everything someone please help. i will pay someone to fix my phone if i have to
You need to get in download mode and odin back to stock. Pull battery and put back in. Go to different computer, win XP works best, download/install drivers on PC then plug phone in to PC and download mode should come up.

Also you may have to hold both volume buttons down. It works both ways with and without volume buttons. Search threads how to get in download mode.

It's bricked. I had the same thing happen a few days ago. Just take it back to the T-mobile you bought it from (assuming you bought in-store) and they'll replace it. Seeing your phone recognized as that "QHSYSB_DLOAD" device seems to be an issue with Qualcomm CPUs and happens mainly to HTC phones for obvious reasons. From the hours of research that I did before returning my phone, no one has ever successfully recovered from that kind of brick.
i bought it used so tmobile wont replace it. BUT i registered the phone on samsungs website and it says its still in warranty with them. do you think samsung could replace it?
Yeah I'd do that. They should be able to help you out as long as you don't say you were trying to root it lol. Yours won't vibrate or anything when you press the power button right?
nope it doesnt vibrate. what do you think of this?

Yup, mine wouldn't vibrate either. The only sign of life was when it was plugged into the PC in an attempt to get into download mode. I read that when you get to the point where the phone can't even get into download mode properly(showing the usual warning about custom OSes, that the jig device won't work, unfortunately. It may be worth a shot though if the price is right.
just shipped out to samsung. hopefully they dont realize why its broken and try to charge me for it
I have left it plugged in to AC power & USB for an hour each, battery holding no charge.
Brand new phone.
I read somewhere that if the battery completely discharges, then this is the outcome. I have tried every 3-button combo, with/without battery, etc..
If I could just get to download mode... please dont tell me its jig time...
Give your phone a full charge from the wall then try.

Thanks for replying.
Won't hold a charge at all.
Phone off, plugged in, here's what I get:
Screen flashes battery icon, reboot...flash, reboot, flash reboot.
Try for recovery, no response.
Try for download mode, get the battery too low message.
Edit:Matter of fact, when the phone gets plugged in, i see the charge light flash continously, as if in an endless boot loop that wont charge the battery.
Is it a stock ROM you're running? If so I'd for sure take it back to sprint.
Heck I'd take it back to sprint even if it wasn't stock. They may not care / notice lol
If sprint wont give u a fixes u might have to buy another battrry plus a charger from samsung.com

Yea hey man. If they get it up and running either way your stoked cause it works again. Isn't like there going to take it from you. If they can't get it to work they might just replace it!. Worth trying atleast

If you can get your hands on another epic 4g touch, the OG epic, or a samsung infuse. They use the same size battery so charge the battery using the other phone, put the charged battery back into your phone, then try to get into download mode and ODIN w/e you need to ODIN.
i try holding down 1 and power button at the same time but it wont go into download mode it just stays on the black screen.....any suggestions?

Did your display take a crap? Just wondering, I remember once my display crapped out on me but I was still able to get it to download mode so I could odin it to stock. I just opened up odin, connected the phone to usb, held down 1 and then power until odin saw the device.
Not sure why but I remember my dad telling me for 2 days he couldn't get his epic into download mode, and then 3rd day he called me up and said he got it. I dunno what he did/didn't do but maybe you just need to play with it for awhile?
Try taking the battery out, leave it out, go watch a movie and come back and try again?
Sorry, I'm running out of ideas here and tho it may be the case, it truly is hard to actually brick this phone but maybe you did?
Edit: you said the capacitive keys light up so I don't think its the display.

looks like odin will read it........the screen is still black but odin reads it should i just go back to stock and see if it works?
I would do it to make sure that sprint won't give you a hard time fixing it if the odin doesn't fix it

Sprint doesn't care if you're rooted, especially if its a hardware issue. I've taken a few different rooted devices in for repair and the last time was because of my screen, they put a new screen on it and gave me back my phone with custom ROM in tact, the tech even said he liked my setup. Lol
But if you have a nandroid and want to odin to stock I say go for it, gives you plausible deniability.
Good luck my friend!
Edit:
P.S. Thank you for posting in the proper section of the forums. ;-)

Now before you say its not hard bricked, just use odin/download mode bla bla bla, know that I do know what I am talking about. I was odining WITH PARTION ON to go from mtd to bml and my computer power cut out. Now I can't turn my phone on OR get into download mode . I looked into th e unbrickable mod but apparently that's just more of an untested thing (at least for the epic). That pretty much means I can only get a new phone (probably get the note 2). However I was wondering for the time being if I turned this into sprint, assuming they don't know whats wrong with it and i play dumb, Will they just replace my phone cause I have tep? Or will i have to make an assurion claim? Or should i use an old crap phone for the next 3 weeks until i can get my gnote 2?
A month or so ago, I thought I had hard bricked from an odin disconnect. I searched & tried EVERYTHING and couldn't get it to DL mode. Somewhere in XDA I stumbled on a suggested unbrick method that amazingly worked. I wish I could find that post & hit Thanks.
- Close the keyboard
- Put the battery in
- Press the power button TWICE with short presses
- Plug in your USB cable
- Use 1+Power to fire up DL Mode
- Voila!!
I know it sounds overly simple, but it worked for me. I was shocked.

Well, I guess my memory isn't so hot. I found the original post here. The instruction should have been to press the power button twice with the the battery OUT. I'm glad it worked for you anyway.

My friend told me it had something to do with waiting for the static something or other to clear with the battery out...so it may not have been your method. Just the two hours i got frusturated and didn't do anything with it and the battery out.

this drains the power out of the phone board, you could also unplug the battery and plug the phone into a WALL charger while holding power and 1, then after you get into download mode plug the battery in and take it to the usb for odin.

If its been 30 days you can go back to any sprint store and they have to give you a new one. I've done it. not for the s3 but for other phones. Thats considered a manufacturers defect.
i was undervolting my galaxy s3 and it rebooted and then turned off, and now it wont boot into download mode, CWM or anything. but if i take out the battery and push vol up power and home, the red charging light turns out, but thats it. is it soft bricked, hard brick, im going to at&t tomorrow, what do i tell them about my device issues ?

Not even a vibration?
Doesn't undervolting only apply after your device has started up if you set it on "apply on reboot"? It shouldn't affect anything before start up. Did you try charging your battery for a few min?

You've probably flashed an ROM meant for the international version of your phone. Your only option is JTAG service. Check out this guy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unbrick-Sam...653?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417592da4d
This exact problem happened to me couple of weeks ago. This guy turned my phone around in less than one week. The more reputable one is Mobile Tech Video's JTAG service but they end up being about twice the cost.
Good luck.
