Anyone having issues with swype installing a old version? I'm using the official SWYPE installer, but it's installing version 1.0.3.5809. Whats up with this?
I'm using the Swype beta, which uses the beta installer. That might work for you if your ok with the beta.

That is not the old version.. its actually the newest version...
When swype was acquired by Nuance, they changed version numbers.
Thats not to say the newest version isn't crap though...

I just installed the new 2.3.6 and it only has the new market and cannot stand it. where can i get the old market apk so i can delete this one and run the old one only?
thank and yes i did search but could not find info on it. thanks again
What market version did the update give you?
I have 3.3.11 and 3.1.5 ...
the OP does not want the newest, he wants the OLD version of market without all the fancy slow stuff
IMO, you should be able to pull it off any old CM7 or CM6 ROM zip
and ADB push it to the phone, or use root browser to move the file there ../../App/..
Click on settings/manage applications/market/uninstall updates. You should be back to stock.

Hi everyone,
I just got my T-989 back from repair from Samsung and I noticed Swype is missing. It is not in any of the options. How can I get it back?

If you just google "swype", you can install the beta from the website. If you ever install a custom ROM, a lot of them don't come with swype installed so that's how you would get it back in that instance also.
Hey bro honestly the easiest way to do this is open a ROM you have downloaded and goto system app and look for Swype in the zip pull from the zip and put in your sys app and reboot

I can't do that because apparently Swype is pre-installed in SGSII even though it is not on my phone.

This is somewhat vague... Can you explain this in better detail? I found a Swype.apk that is not different from the Beta version specified above, however I cannot install that. You stated to place it in the "sys app," I did not do that, I simply tried to install it. Where is the sys app?
If you have root find swype libs remove them fix permissions then install swype beta from swype site or you can just flash a custom rom and install there beta from the site.

Plus the beta is better than what comes with the phone.
Maybe try a firmware upgrade using kies. If installing Swype beta make sure you have install from unknown sources box checked in options.

I am currently running MIUI version 112090 and the tom tells me to upgrade to version 112300. I would normally do so but people on the forums have not mentioned this new version yet, so I am hesitant to install it. Thanks

that version is not stable.

True. The version you're using was the last stable version of MIUI for the DInc2.
anybody tried this on a Jelly Bean ROM? I think you have to delete the old version first. Note: you must download the apk from their website, as it is not on the market. It's not working for me on CM10...

RC 2.4.1 does not work on CM10, it was only updated to work on Sprint GS3 running ICS. Based on app site description, MrGreg plans to update the app to work on JB but there is no timetable.
Thanks for the update,I guess I misunderstood the info on the site.

Hello,
How come that I cannot install Free Zone WIFI?
It says it is not compatible with my device but only requires Android 2.1.
I have installed CM9. So there should be no compatibility issues.
Can anyone install this app?

There must be a particluar criteria for android versions and phones. E.g if processor, gpu etc better than it will have better android version. Ours wildfire is not that good therfore only Froyo is compatible officially.
Even if u install JB, u wont be able to install apps that are for JB only. And i dont think that app will work perfect.
