Same here. A review unit of the 6000mah version is been shipped to me atm, so I will get a fair review up soon.
That is if it doesn't take 3 weeks to ship like the last time.

*^_^*, i reviewed their products before and they seem satisfied ^ω^, but also because i found the right guy to ask. some of their marketing people arent that helpful

Why do they have to make them so thick? Lithium Polymer batteries can be manufactured to be very thin. These cases may have a higher advertised capacity, but they also have a much larger area to work with, so they can easily spread out the thickness. By the looks of it (camera lens cutout) the battery pack seems thicker than the phone itself, so I guess with this on the phone will be 2x+ thicker ??
If they made the output 1A then I don’t mind getting one as a replacement for a portable battery charger pack, but at 500mA this won’t be able to charge the phone, so I won’t be able to use it just for few hours on the phone to charge it.
EDIT: I see that the photo indicating 500mA output is not for the Mugen case, OP do you have any idea what the output current of the Mugen ??

those are rated at 2200mah, with loss for charging and heat i'd assume you'd get somewhere around half a charge.
better to just get something like this

which can get you 2-3 full charges
To be honest am not looking at 2-3 chargers, I just need something that will give my battery more power so can watch football live when out and to play games, as I charge my phone every night ...
I get home from work with about 30% remaining but am curious about playing games etc just incase battery dies.... Was alright on 1.26 but since updating to 1.28 battery seems to have gone worse

Our battery is 1800mah and this is 2200mah so it should give it one full charge and a bit but in reality these batteries are usually 70% to 90% of their stated amount so expect one full charge. Its a bit pricey for 2200mah though, then again its very portable, let us know how it goes if you decide to get it
I'm thinking about this one, but I'm concerned about charging at non stock voltages/currents. Will charging at 5.2V damage the phone? What about devices that feed more than 1000mA?

This one looks a little too good to be true, 4000mah in such a small size, but it should charge our device just fine the charger supplied with our phone says it has a 1A output which is equal to the 1000ma supplied by this battery pack. If the device feeds more than 1000ma the phone will simply charge faster. The only difference is the charger supplied with the one x states an output of 5v while this one says 5.2v but I doubt this matters. I'd go with the first one .

My mistake, my old phone used to charge faster with a more powerful charger.
I have one of these.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Trent-I...MP50/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1336512020&sr=8-2
Bought it 18 months back for my DHD as I go to a lot of music festivals and I didnt want to pay to charge my phone up. I used it when I bought it from a full charge on my DHD and I got 13 full charges out of the thing. And lasts a full week when camping (as I charge my ipod too)
A load of my friends have actually gone out and bought them as a result of seeing and using mine. Not that big or heavy and great for use on planes as well! Has an autoshut off also so when the phone stops drawing power the battery pack shuts down to avoid draining itself.

Thanks for the pics they helped a lot, its not anywhere near as big as i thought it would be. I might pick one up for long journeys I'd be able to charge almost all of my devices fully.
I've got myself a power link 5200mah battery. Does 2 charges on my one x while gives 75% to my iPad. I think it was worth the £40 I paid

I can say that it is more than expected. It charges my HOX very fast and I feel that my HOX battery life is much better now.
I am heavy user so screen on time was 3 hours maximum before Astro. Now it stays about 5 hours with heavy usage.
I strongly recommend this great product.

Awesome news indeed. When I first heard they were either doing the internal battery and battery pack, I was hoping that they'd go the battery pack route. If possible, I'd prefer not to open up the One X since I'm rather clumsy.
I'm just hoping that the Mugen design of the battery pack will look nice.

Got reponse.
The customer rep says that the product is still in the development phase, therefore no battery capacity and how the battery will be charged is available yet.
Since the rep told me the approximate release date may be mid-July. I'd say it's fair to check back with them beginning of July.
Also sent them a message on FB and they confirmed it's a battery pack using the pogo pins (gave them a link of this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703746
however i was told to just watch out for it since it's still in development

Please someone with experience in using battery cases on other phones try and answer these questions. How do these batteries actually work? Does it keep the phone's battery under a light charge? Or does it work as a separate battery leaving the built in one unused?
Any unwanted side effects? It's just I don't think if it is good to keep our batteries under charge for too long.

In the long term, would this be detrimental or irrelevant to the battery life of the phone?
As the title says: anybody tried qcell batteries before? I found them earlier on Amazon.

From all the reviews I've read, they're supposed to be same as OEM at half the price.
The reviews from amazon seem a bit fishy, all raving 5 star reviews and all the reviewers are brand new accounts with just one review. I'll have them by tomorrow and will post my results.
Any special app or way I should test them with? Or just a few full charge cycles to see?

I am almost 100% certain that those reviews are fraudulent. Look at their other batteries. The ones with only 5-7 reviews are pretty much the same. 5 stars, only review... it's really not hard to game Amazon like this. Verified purchase doesn't mean much either when you can give money to your friends/family/employees/strangers to buy them and give them 5 stars.
Then the rest are 1 star reviews from people who bought them and realized they are crap.

I ordered two and they work fine. NFC works as well and tested from my phone to my wife's S3. When I ordered they didn't have the two battery and separate charger available so was only able to get the batteries at $8.99 each shipped. Definitely stay away from Anker and Hyperion since it is confirmed they do not support NFC. The 2300mah QCell's are as good if not better than the Samsung original in terms of battery life.
Just received my Qcell batteries and charger a few minutes ago. Have the first battery charging now, will update when I have used them a time or two. It is not hard for me to believe the batteries would have similar characteristics to the OEM, it isn't rocket science... but time will tell.
---------- Post added at 12:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:24 AM ----------
OK, the Qcell battery is charged, I put it in my S3, and it fits like normal, powers up as normal, I can confirm NFC works the same as the OEM battery for me. I will comment on battery life, when I have used it a bit. Is there a good battery diagnostic app that mught be useful?
I have had the qcell batteries and charger for about a week now and I am definitely happy. After charging it fully and completely discharging it three times, I would have to say that it lasts noticiably longer than the standard 2100ml battery. Plus they are dirt cheal

Mine charges to 100% but it takes a loooong time. About 8 hours or so, starting from 15%. It seems to slow down for the last 10% too. This should be better for the battery, than a fast charger. The charger LED is purple while charging, and will turn blue when finished.
Try leaving it on the charger and see what happens. I thought the same as you guys the first day, but finally figured it out after some testing, using a volt meter, and then finally just leaving it on the charger for what felt like forever.
Only had the batteries a few days but battery life seems comparable to OEM.
Be careful with the chargers. I had a similar one with my evo 3d. After about a few months of use the charger contacts shorted and the charger basically fried up. Basically not a good idea to put a battery in it while it's plugged into the wall

I always use the supplied wall charger that comes with these so Idk, lots of the extended battery reviews on here are the same voltage & they seem to be doing pretty good.
It's not the charger which matters but the phone itself which charges the battery, it's aiming for 4.3V as that's what it thinks it should have as the stock battery is designed for that. Although I haven't heard a single case of these 4.2V batteries having problems with being charged with 4.3V, that last part can be changed in the kernel and the charger chip driver. I'm getting some knock-off cheap battery myself so I'll see how it goes. This particular one seems quite steep in price @ $30, with proven ones like the PolarCell 2400mAh going out for half the cost.
you won't see the affect right away from overcharging. I use to play with a lot of batteries from RC, overcharging something we use to do get slight edge and boost at start. but it does have long term damage to batteries, specially lithium based. some cheaper batteries even catch fire.
Alright guys, got the batteries in the mail today, charging one & will report back later

Well here's a couple quick pics, batteries seem to be doing pretty good, this is with some moderate use. I'll continue to drain them & recharge so I can calibrate em'

another 3.7v batter that will die very fast if you use your phone to charge, due to overcharging. as our stock batteries full charge voltage is 4.3 where as that one is 4.2v
unless somehow our phones can distinguish the battery difference,

Li-ion batteries have an overcharge protection circuit built into the battery pack itself and should prevent this from happening. If everything is working as intended, it should be impossible for the phone to overcharge a battery. That's not to say the protection circuit couldn't fail itself.
And I too played with RC batteries and you really can't compare those batteries with these. Different types of battery with different methods of charging.

I couldn't wait for more info on this battery, so I picked up two on amazon.com for a little bit less.

Based off of Amazon, these batteries are the same size as the stock battery.
From Amazon's Description: "Standard Size Do not need to change bulky back cover, increase battery life"

Any updates regarding your experience with these batteries? I used to own this brand for my HTC Sensation and was very pleased with it. Almost had about 400+ recharge cycles before the battery started to wear out. Looking forward on your feedback!

damn- not deliverable to my area thru Amazon
Am tempted by the 3000Mah battery by E-Cell....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLD-3000...ultDomain_3&hash=item3f1b24bf0b#ht_2324wt_962
Purchased a 2100mah previously to replace the 1450mah that was in my Sony Xperia Play.... Definately added a few more hours of play to it..... Hmmmm....
Just want to ask what you guys think is more worth it to buy...
Extra battery for Note or a power bank.
Extra Battery:
1. Open and close of back cover. More annoying when you have an external casing.
2. Requires one by one charging of batteries.
3. Only for Galaxy Note.
Power Bank:
1. Universal power bank. For future use once new phone.
2. Simultaneous charging.
3. Will charge phone and will take time. Not ready ASAP.
Thanks.

I'd say swapping battery only takes like 1 min. The biggest downside for me is that you can only charge the battery when it's in the phone.
Even though it should be THAT hard to make an external charger, if there isn't one already.

That would certainly be a very good idea with the external charger, I sure need me one right now.
I bought a Hyperion battery and Hyperion battery charger/dock on amazon a while back and either swap back and forth or dual charge. It works out great.
99% of the time the phone is usable. Meaning I'm never worried about the battery dying. Also its handy on road trips to bring multiple batteries

Thanks! thats really handy... getting one!
I have an extra battery which charges in my desk stand (sorry, no link because I bought it in a store) and a power bank which I charge via solar panels while camping. For day-to-day use I only use the second battery, because I don't want to wait to have a full battery.
I've just written a long post on this here:

Thanks, that's a neat review, I think I'm gonna let myself be tempted with the extended battery and kickstand cover; does it really adds extra thickness to the Note if you want to carry it in the pocket of your jeans?
As I said, I quite like the extra shape - I don't feel I'm going to drop it so much, and for me, in your typical jeans and jackets, I've had no problems. It feels more reassuring somehow.
My next job is to see if I can store a tiny little usb cable within the spare space!
But yep, the new appearance is not a minus for me, and the battery life plus stand are massive, massive pros.

you shouldn't have - it's only because of you that I just ordered the 13000 mAh model (got a little greedy for extra juice) - shame on you, it's all your fault...
Hehe, think you'll love it tho, will be interested to know your thoughts when you got it

I got completely lost here, which battery is being recommended again ?
Click on my link to another thread about three posts up, in that posting I recommend a power bank and also what I consider the best genuine 5,000ma battery (ebay seller: gps4less)
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
why not get both? Plenty of deals were on over the weekend.
7800mAh Probox
I recently got this model while in Thailand.Although I didn't fully test it , The looks are good, Its using Sanyo cells. It also says the total losses of the conversion is around 40% (external 3.7-5V boost and internal 5-4.2V buck),thus effectively available capacity is ~ 4500mAh - which should be ok for x3 usage. This one got 2 USB output ports too.
I've both. Stack of spare trees. Plus newtrent pack, which is great. Charges 5 times
From the man in your attic...
I vote for powerbank, just to future proof yourself. Spare batteries are nice but how long do you plan on keeping your phone? There are definitely plenty of options for power banks such as ravpower, anker, or newtrent.
Bought a powerbank but forced to buy 2 cheap batteries from ebay. My note batteries are getting fat... this is not safe...
