CWM on One V :-\ - HTC One V

Hi All,
I got thru the install of CWM recovery no problem, but when I get the menus - I have no idea how to select. (Seems like power = ESC), and the vol up / vol down are up / down arrow - but there is no enter / select.
--Adrian

got it
Figured it out - from the dev thread - toggle between the bottom / top (or top / bottom) menu items and it puts the power button as enter vs ESC.

I am not responsible for anything if you brick/ break/ or through your cell away! Ok? (won't happen if you follow my directions.
OK. Here are the easy steps!
1) Turn Your Phone Off
2) Hold Volume +UP And -Down
3) While holding those 2 volume buttons, Hit the Power Button. Then release all.
4) You will see a black screen with a RECOVERY option (#2)
5) Hit RECOVERY with the power button
6) You will now see a triangle with an image on it
7) Hold the up / down volume and tap the power button. then release all.
8) see the wipe / reset option now? Hit That option!
9) Now Wipe Cache
10) Reboot
11) Tadaaaahhhh!
12 Extra) Here is a cool trick...
13) On the android setup on boot tap the upper left, upper right, lower right, and lower left corners without touching the setup buttons. Check that out!
Enjoy this cool device! (Another successful repair at Legacy Tech Computer Repair. Time for Root! I'll post that method later!)

7) Hold the down Volume Down / Power and tap the Volume Up Button. then release all. ( Basic Logic derived from the orignal post was Select button is VOLUME UP thus - whereever Power Button is doing the selection in above post use Volume Up Button )
8) see the wipe / reset option now? Hit That option!
9) Now Wipe Cache
10) Reboot
11) Tadaaaahhhh!

To root is not simply by pressing buttons but something like changing permission. Check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317394
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda premium
And flashing the file through recovery may be an easier way if compared to adb
Just copy the rooting file, which is in the link provided by iCloud, to your internal SD card (named update.zip if not mistaken)
Then go into recovery
Remember to let go the power button once the phone is switched on and just continue pressing the home & the volume button (or else it will keep on rebooting if you didn't release the power button after it's switched on)
After you saw the Android with the box
Press the menu button (button left to the home button)
The screen will turn dim a bit
Wait a while
The menu will pop out
Choose apply sdcard: update.zip
Choose the update.zip file
Reboot after it's done
Good luck

Issues after update.
When having any issue after an update.
Anything from battery drain to the pin lock numbers showing up as white squares has been known to be fixed by this.
First:
Boot the device into the android system recovery menu
Press and Hold the volume up key, the Home key and the Power key. When you see "Recovery Booting" in very small blue text at the top of the screen you may release those keys
The Android robot will appear
A dos-looking menu will appear (note that your touch screen is disabled in this menu)
Using your volume keys as directional keys and your power key to select the desired option.
Highlight the option that states "wipe cache partition"
Press power key to select
the option "reboot system now" should then be highlighted; select that option using the power key
i done it but still have the same problem !

I did this steps and still have the same problem
Are you using a replacement battery? Not all are nfc capable. Also a case could block the signal, but you should still see the options.

Clearing Cache

Hello all,
Glad to be new to the Samsung Galaxy world!
Question, is there a way to clear cache all at once on the Galaxy S20+ without having to go into each app one by one? It's so refreshing to be able to clear all the waste data at one time in oppose to going through each app.
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.
Press the Volume down key several times to highlight Wipe cache partition.
Press Bixby / Power key to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Bixby / Power key to select.
When the process is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
Press the Bixby / Power key to restart the device.

Even Pixels don't have that option anymore. It's entirely possible it's starting to become an Android thing overall with newer devices and OS versions
