How to format Blueangel?
Answer
1) Camera + Record + Reset
2) Enable KITL NO
Clean Reg Hive YES
Format Storage YES
3) the action button on the middle of the direction pad
(the action button in the middle of the direction is not working but the button which is is the Message Button)
chk wiki for this
can u give me the link plz
coz i have like 2 or 3 messages programs

I cant believe you have been a member of this site for nearly two years and you dont even know how to hard reset one of these devices ,but here it is anyway
how to hard reset (format)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueAngel_For_Beginners
Hold down the Power button (Top Right corner) and at the same time put your Stylus pen in the hole where it says “Reset” (Lower Left corner).
Click to collapse
i have tried that but it still has the same files there and all the sms etc it just does a soft reset when i do that
no, yes, yes
have you selected yes for the “Clean Registry Hive” and “Format Storage” options? it's done by using the camera and record button on the left side of your ba.

then i did the following
Anti-Imperialism from the Metropole
Hold down the Power button (Top Right corner) and at the same time put your Stylus pen in the hole where it says “Reset” (Lower Left corner).

you dont hard reset after you have selected the Hive to no and the format storage to yes , you press the action button(in the middle of the direction pad) that is why you still have the same files when it restarts you are not formatting anything, you are just resetting the device
ok ok
so let me get this right
1) Camera + Record + Reset
2) Enable KITL NO
Clean Reg Hive YES
Format Storage YES
3) the action button on the middle of the direction pad
(the action button in the middle of the direction is not working but the button which is is the Message Button)

You Don't Have To Flash...
Try this:
It was all about this "Two-Step Verification" security of google!
I tried everything... and I mean EVERYTHING (except flashing my XooM), but at the edge of giving up, I signed into my google account and issued an "Application Specific Password" for Xoom from my Google account.
I used my [email protected] with that Application Specific Password and it worked. (do not enter spaces in the password)
Let me know if it worked

Confirmed!! T-Mobile Concord (V768) ROOT and BOOT-LOOP fix!!

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING NEGATIVE THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE!!
ALSO WORKS FOR T-MOBILE DART!!
Never Hurts to Thank or GIFT to all that help you!
NO PC NEEDED!!!!!!!!:highfive:
Necessary downloads from the Play Store
SuperUser or SuperSU -- One will work, the other won't -- --A MUST HAVE for any rooted phone! Superuser/SuperSU is the app that manages what apps on your rooted device have access to su. Apps that are granted su have elevated permissions and can modify just about any part of the system. The app consists of two parts, Superuser.apk and the su binary.
Superuser.apk runs as any other app and gives you, the user, a place to see what apps you have allowed or denied, as well as view a log of what apps have used su when.
Link2SD-- DO NOT USE until rooted.--Link2SD is an application that makes it easy for Android 1.6+ users with root privileges on their phone to move applications to the SD card.
The idea behind is same with apps2sd scripts, linking applications to SD card's second partition but differs in two ways.
One, instead of linking /data/app folder (that means moving all applications), you can select applications that you want to move.
Two, it's an application which means has a user interface. You can manage your applications with few clicks.
It also provides native apps2sd features on Android 2.2 and higher. It can move any non-protected user apps to SD card (force move), with batch moving capability.
That feature uses Android's standard SD-card installation feature and does not require a second partition. It can break some apps if they are not meant to be moved to the SD card (Such as Widgets).
BusyBox--DO NOT USE until rooted. --A MUST HAVE for any rooted phone! Almost EVERY rooted applications needs BusyBox to perform their magic, if you have a rooted phone then you NEED BusyBox.
Pro version contains Backup feature (for safer installs), uninstall feature, Advance Smart install feature, the ability to hand pick the applets you want, safety check for missing applets on start, and better overall support. The pro version will receive more frequent updates than the free version will.
Root Checker (optional)--Checks for ROOT -- Use AFTER Installing a Superuser app.
BOOT-LOOP FIX

I did the boot-loop process and then the root process. I had no errors and was rooted on the first try. You should not need to factory reset. This is only the boot- loop fix and root. No new recovery or roms.
Anyone else try this?

Wow 230 views and only 1 other person telling me it worked for them? I would like to keep up with this and maybe figure out some way to get roms and such, like twrp, themes, etc... But I need to know if there are any bugs or not by following these instructions. I am not a DEV but am willing to try to accomplish things people want. Currently trying to get twrp ported by someone for this phone. Whoever is willing to work on the port should pm me.
Hey I'm new to posting but I've been on android for a few years. I'm having troubles with booting into recovery mode. Whenever I try it shows some yellow text at the bottom. Something about the data directory. Think u can help me fix this please? Thank u

I have boldly went where no one has gone before. After much soul searching about bricking my son's phone because I have only followed guides, I decided that this phone was so similar to the AVAIL/MERIT that I would use that method to root his Concord. I did this because his phone ran out of memory and subsequently got stuck on boot-loop. Because this worked, I wrote this tutorial.
NO PC NEEDED!!!!!!!!
This quick tutorial will help you get into recovery and root.
What files are needed are not my work! I only decided to use the ZTE MERIT GUIDE AND ZIP for my son's T-mobile Concord(V768).
To get out of the BOOT-LOOP
1.) Power off the phone by removing the battery.
2.) Replace battery.
3.) Boot into recovery by holding Volume- and power button until the android with the triangle appears. this will appear AFTER the android that is by himself!!
4.) Press the home button
5.) Navigate to the 3rd choice - " wipe data/factory reset"
6.) Select by pressing the menu button
7.) When the wipe is complete, navigate to and select - "reboot system"
To Root
1.) Download attached update.zip file
2.) copy/move update.zip to root of sdcard
3.) Power off the phone
4.) reboot into recovery by holding Volume- and power button until the android with the triangle appears.
5.) At this screen, Press the HOME button.
6.) scroll to your second option, navigating with the volume buttons - "Apply update from sdcard" and press the Menu key
7.) Navigate to YES and press the menu key (no data will be wiped but the update will be installed and you will be rooted)
8.) Navigate to - "reboot system now" and select by pressing the menu key.
9.) Install superuser or equivalent. I installed Superuser and root checker before installing the update.
If for some reason, you get an error, try to factory reset first.
Congratulations!!! You are now Rooted!!
Special THANKS to JCASE for his work on the ZTE MERIT UPDATE.ZIP mentioned above. The UPDATE.ZIP file was downloaded from Stayboogy's tutorial.

What carrier and version and build number are you on? You can find that under settings--> about phone. My carrier is Family Mobile (which runs on T-Mobile) and I'm running Android 2.3.7 and Build number V768V1.0.0B20.
I am having trouble getting the Concord to boot into recovery. I can't seem to get to a screen with a triangle. Can you walk through the steps to get it into recovery again or possibly post a video?
The video stayboogy supplied in the link you posted for the Avail/Merit said to put the phone into recovery mode by holding the volume up key and the menu key while pressing the power button. When I do that the concord freezes at the green android logo and does not go into recovery mode and does not boot normally. I have to pull the battery. Same thing if I hold both of the volume buttons and the menu key.
If I hold the volume down and the menu key (or just the volume down key or just the menu key) and turn on the power button I get the green android startup screen followed by a screen with a white box and an orange arrow coming out of the box pointing to a small green android. When I get to this screen pressing home or the volume up or down buttons just cause it to reboot.

I personally have not noticed this. make sure your phone is off. make sure you press the volume down button first. while still holding the volume down button press and hold the power button. DO NOT let go of either button until the android with the triangle appears. you will see the android by himself first, CONTINUE HOLDING THE BUTTONS FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. When the android with the triangle appears, you can let go of both buttons. Then press your home button. this should bring up your recovery menu.
USE THE VOLUME BUTTONS TO NAVIGATE UP AND DOWN.
USE THE MENU BUTTON TO SELECT YOUR CHOICES. I
BELIEVE, THE POWER BUTTON ACTS AS THE BACK BUTTON? (MAYBE JUST USE THE BACK BUTTON.) I will check this when my son gets home from school. he is the one with the phone.
remember there is NO factory wipe necessary, unless you are trying to get out of the boot-loop.

I tried again with no luck. In the Root ZTE Concord thread a few of us tried and were never able to get into recovery mode.
I just tried the steps you listed but I get the same screen with the white box and arrow and if I continue to hold the power and volume down button it causes the phone to reboot. If I keep holding down the power and volume down even after it reboots it just repeats, green android screen, white box screen, reboot, green android screen, white box, reboot, etc. I can record a video of the screen later today if you are interested.
Did you ever install an over the air update? I did months ago and I wonder if that update changes or removes how to get into recovery mode.

I will attempt to find this screen later when my son gets home. 3:30pm central.I have only owned the phone for about 1 1/2 months. I do not believe that I have received any update OTA or any other way. my son downloads a lot of CRAP. He eventually got stuck in the pink logo boot-loop. I proceeded to do the boot-loop fix that I listed and after the factory reset to get out of it, I confirmed that it booted normally, turned the phone off and went back into recovery.
One thing I did notice about this phone is the power button. It is "weird". I am one of those that mash the buttons EXTRA hard to insure that they are being pressed. I make sure that I use both hands, one finger on each hand for each button and I hold as still as possible. Making sure that I don't toggle any buttons. at first, my phone would some how be stuck on the green android that is by himself. What your are saying sounds similar but I never noticed the white box. I think that this might be the download mode. if you have some kind of case on the phone, try removing it.

Have you ever applied the over the air update? I have and I wonder if that has eliminated the ability to get into recovery mode.
I stated in my previous post that I have not noticed one. I bought the phone at the end of February. I rooted the phone the night before I posted this tutorial. I will check the build version as soon as my son gets home. FYI, The rom is totally stock as no one has had this rooted, unlocked bootloader or otherwise, that I know of.

I tried again and made sure to hold the buttons firmly without moving but have the same result. Maybe your son never applied the OTA update and that's why you can get in recovery mode.

I was just wondering if the OTA update was applied by bkool96 and maybe that's why we both can't get recovery mode to boot.
If you are willing to back up what you can and then do a factory restore. You might have luck that way. I will try to get into recovery later today since my son has been using the phone but I may still be able to seeing as how I am already rooted.

Also, googling it, I noticed that I may be A** backwards. Meaning, Try Volume UP and the power button. If that works then I will edit the tutorial.

sorry you didn't find this forums earlier. we could have probably helped you out without getting a replacement console.
thanks for the write up though. this same info is already on here (a bunch of different places) but having it again never hurts.
now that you have a working console, look into CWM. its a replacement Recovery Mode that gives you a lot more options and is easier to access. from recovery, you can also re-flash a stock update and that will help A LOT in brick situations.
just ask around for help. and use the search function. not necessarily in that order :silly:

Hi,
I hope this finds you well. In the interest of time it sounds like your OUYA may be bricked, but there's a fairly good chance you can recovery your OUYA. Please follow the steps below and let me know if this has restored your OUYA. Thanks, and sorry about our delay in responding!
Best regards,

Wow I never knew you could do this! Thanks for writing this up, it might be very useful someday
This is known. But if OUYA is sending this out as their tech support, you'd think they would see the benefit in giving us an easy way into recovery, instead of making us think we are an insignificant minority.
I'm glad you got a replacement, but I am still dissappointed in OUYA reguarding this issue.

adb sideload
I've tired to wipe cache and user data. But my OUYA still can't boot.
Then I tried, to sideload:
adb sideload RC-OUYA-1.0.328-r1_ota.zip
but I got the following error message:
assert failed: !less_than_int(1368745818, getprop("ro.build.date.utc")
Installation aborted.
How can I sideload an ouya ROM?
im not sure you can sideload a ouya rom, you need root and a recovery to flash a rom, just in case and pardon my ignorance but i havent looked into it much, but try searching the ouya forum, that'll help
You cant flash an ota over a broken or custom rom since ota dont contain the full os but just the changes for the update. We would need a propper backup or system dump etc to flash from recovery or an IMG to flash via fastboot.

Why are steps 3 and 4 the same?
Please, double-check your post for clarity. How long are we supposed to hold down ALT+PrintScr, how many times are we supposed to press them?
I believe it is a case of bashing away on the key as much as possible to hopefully hit it at the right time. Very hit and miss

My understanding is this is the process for a 'hard reset' correct? A complete reinstall of the OS wiping back to factory (not a factory reset).
I ask because I have xposed and the mod collect and would like to completely wipe any modification and start fresh.
Additionally, you do not need to adb the OS in correct? Other instructions stated you needed to side load an ota (a newer version at that) and I would prefer not to have to adb in.
Last question. My TV shows no input when you hit the 'home' key following the above steps. I'm assuming its just defaulting to a resolution my TV cannot display, not a problem with the bootloader?
Stock ROM BTW.

Don't know if this will help anyone.
In my case it was going into update mode, rebooting and then getting the red exclamation mark, it would reboot, try to do the update and go back to the exclamation mark again, just cycling through, and through, and through and...
I couldn't get ALT-PrintScreen to work, and it was p*ssing me off royally. Then during the loading update part I pressed the ESC key basically in frustration, which cancelled update and took me back to the menu and I did the factory reset through the System menu option. I now have a working Ouya.
After a few hours of struggling with the ALT-PrintScreen option I was surprised by my accidental result.

Used your accidental method and works like a charm
I really bricked this thing and need help
I totally borked my ouya and think it's bricked...
I flashed safe recovery and then flashed CWM from within that and got stuck in the boot loop.
I then side loaded a rom which changed nothing. In an attempt to get out of the cwm--safe recovery loop, I flashed the bootloader (with apparently no kernel) and now have persistent black screen.
I am unable to get anything working via alt-prt scrn-i combo even using home button and device no longer shows up in ADB or in windows.
Am wondering if anyone has any last ideas?
Thanks,
Josh

You can only sideload a rom which is the same version currently installed or newer, trying to sideload an older rom will give this error message.
took me ages to work this out.
Need help here guys.
I reinstalled CWM and wiped dalvik/cache
Now I cant even boot to recovery no matter how I tried.
I can access the OUYA through the micro usb and can read the file structure from my Mac
How do I restore?
Brickt my ouya trying to flash a recovery.
Flashed it using fastboot. Since then it always boots into CWM, I can see the CWM logo, but thats all thats on the screen. ADB sees my ouya, sometimes, but trying to do anything gives me a protocol fault (no status)
Now Im trying to use this to just reset everything but at about the 4th or 5th time pressing i with alt and sysreq my ouya powers down...
Anyone have any advice?

The last thing I see, the only thing I see ever, Is the background with the gear and hat for CWM recovery. No menu just the background. After pressing the buttons down for 4 or 5 times it powers down. That's it

Is it possible to post a screen shot with your phone. also connect it to your computer via usb and show us a screen shot of your device manager?
Make sure you have the drivers installed.

I got fixed... so lets try this.. power one OUYA with keyboard attached. As soon as the LED lights up on the unit... press alt+sysrq+i .. keeping alt and sysrq pressed .. tap the I until your screen blinks twice. this should bring you into the recovery mode. If your ouya is connected to a computer, you will here a chime.. you device manager should show this as Android Composite ADB interface. from here you can push your image and flash ROMS and such.. hopes this helps

Galaxy Note 3 Wont Boot

So I was watching a show on my tablet. and then the tablet just froze. I tried to reboot it. and the screen just stays stuck at the Samsung Load screen. I have Team Win Recovery installed on it. So I used the commands to get into it. and see if I could reboot and reset through there. But when I go to reboot it tells me my System has no OS do I still want to reboot, reset or whatever I try to do.
My PC isn't recognizing my device. So I can open it up at all. I did not have a SD card in my Tablet. but I do have one in my phone and it does fit into my Note III so I believe it should/would work for any steps I may need to do to help fix this problem. Any ideas or suggestions on how to deal with this?
I've seen this before...
...THIS MAY OR MAY NOT work (CAPS for emphasis only).
The way we solve that because the symptoms you are describing are often the result of a corrupted cache that effects that startup of processes in the background. Clearing the cache might help if the following doesn't work, but don't clear it first because going through this process sometimes requires that whatever data is in the cache remain undisturbed...
(Remember, Android is just a portable version of Linux).
Part 1 of 2 - Enter Safe Mode (ignore all other directions except for using the hardware keys to enter safe mode)
Safe mode
Turn on and use safe mode
Safe mode allows you to turn on the device with third-party apps disabled. Then you can easily remove all apps that may be causing a conflict or software problem.
To turn on safe mode and use it to fix app problems, follow these steps:
Turn on safe mode
Turn the device off.
Press and hold the Power key.
When 'GALAXY Note 3' appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
'Safe mode' will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see 'Safe Mode.'
Uninstall third party applications
Turn on Safe Mode.
From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap the General tab.
Tap Application manager.
If necessary, swipe right to the Downloaded screen.
Tap the desired application.
Tap Uninstall and then tap OK.
Turn off safe mode
To turn off safe mode, follow these steps:
Press and hold the Power key.
Tap Restart.
The same steps are located on the following URL for entering Safe Mode:
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9049
Part 2 of 2 :
If you were successful in engaging Safe Mode, it is more than likely you will see an option screen come up that lists "TouchWiz" , KNOX (Possibly, and varies depending on your config and KNOW Counter Status {i.e. "0x0" or "0x1}, and TouchWiz Simple.
Please pick TouchWiz and DO NOT pick TouchWiz Simple.
Your Note 3 should then start without incident; however we would recommend you backup your data and reload your device with fresh installs as soon as possible.
Hope this helps.
The Tablet wont even boot up into Safe Mode. the Tablet doesnt boot at all. It just stays stuck at Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 screen.
I can use the hard keys to enter into Odin Mode and Team Win Recovery thats it.
Thanks for clarifying. Different steps will be required then. Be careful, and read the other two links carefully that are listed in order of importance to get your Note 3 back up and running:
[Step 1]
Hardware reset using Hardware Buttons ( You WILL LOSE ALL OF YOUR DATA {CAPS for emphasis only} )
Master reset with hardware keys
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
Back up all data on the internal memory.
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
Volume Up key
Home key
Power key.
When 'GALAXY Note 3' appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
Press the Volume down key to highlight 'wipe data / factory reset.'
Press Power button to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight 'delete all user data.'
Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.
Directions also featured on the following URL: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9049
[Step 2]
Forget about ODIN and you can use Heimdall with the build of your choice provided it is supported by the BootLoader (i.e. KitKat BootLoader will not load JellyBean).
The instructions are in the following URL as are links to the appropriate software:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545009
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH A USB3 Cable. Instead use a USB2 cable because USB3 connections via the Note 3 have been known to not be the most stable, and you will receive much more reliable connectivity using USB2 that is essential to the reload process.
Hope this all helps, and please let us know how successful you were.
