First: don't use ODIN, it's an unsupported tool, a leak from sammy, source code is unknown.
Second: That I know of, CF-ROOT is a sammy based kernel by Chainfire, for I9000, I9100 and I9300. We are AOSP, totally different. Basically, you f'ed up.
Third: Power down your device, turn it on by pressing POWER+VOL UP+VOL DOWN, it should take you to fastboot. Follow this thread to get back to stock.
Don't flash stuff without knowing your surroundings..
with the million of guide out there of how use fastboot and related command to flash google image,i don't know why using a crappy software like odin on this phone..it isn't a classic samsung phone, odin works, but totally reccomended using fastboot.i think that the prob of yours phone is yours fault.anyway follow the 3ad linked by bk201dontexist and you 'd be safe (if you haven't already do bad things)
i Said it doesn,t GO to the FAStboot and download MOD !!!
Now U Say Go to fastboot ?! ?!?!? :|
FASTBOOT DOESN,T WORK !
OK ?
the only other option you have it OMAP flash. i have never used it, but it might work if fastboot and ODIN do not work

Listen buddy, you're responsible for this, so don't yell.
Try OMAP flash, like Zepius said.

This.
And you broke the phone, people are trying to assist you. You didn't know what you were doing disregarded several warnings that are all over this website. 'Danger, use at your OWN risk' You then do all the wrong things; you use ODIN, you use a Kernel that doesn't even belong to this device, you FUBAR'd the device and come and ask for help, people are trying to help and you get snotty.
You're also incredibly difficult to understand but everyone's moved beyond that.
So chin up, take the advice, if it's not good advice move on and wait.

3) i cant stress enough to read first do later. it helps you prevent situations like this.
Thanks for your help
The instructions said it was for SPRINT CDMA devices, that is what I have- I have searched all through out these posts and cannot find out how to recover from this. Can you please help if you know how?

Fingers crossed yes...
Read all the posts from the CDMA ROM page to get feedback and questions answered etc, and do a little more research via the "Search this forums" button before posting a query.
I guess we all started as XDA newbie's, so don't worry.
Got to log off now todaytoo.
Best of luck, will catch up on forums tomorrow.

Just 2 questions I think this was a good example.
Where is the CDMA Rom page?
What ROM exactly did you install? (todaytoo)
ok...its not working
ok, im at the bootload screen...I can connect to active sync. I downloaded the CDMA ROM it came in .rar format I changed to it .exe at when i run the ROM it does not do anything....
ok, now its not connecting to activsync....
Is there a trick that im not doing?
renamed a .rar file to an .exe ...new to computing?
You need to unpack/extract the rar file, just like a zip file.
Use winrar, when extracted all the goodies will be revealed!
/Psudo
wow...dont know where my head was
ok, so i have extracted it correctly....my device will still not conntec to active sync...when i plug it in from the bootscreen it changes to USB but activesync cannot find the device....any suggestions

Dude, search a bit in the forum for things!!
Hey guys ,
This is my first post and I was directed here as the experts will be around . I need your help guys to upgrade my phone Galaxy nexus . I have never did any thing on it . It has the following information that might help you guys to help me
Android version 4.0.4
Kernel version 3.0.8-gda6252b
build number imm76k.i9250jple1
I saw some phones that are rooted and have this wonderful images of Roms . I need to try them but I don't know how
I have downloaded the toolkit program but I dont know what ROM shall I select ?? which one is the best ?
Please guys , teach me how and let me start his journey with you
waiting your heeeeeeelp
start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812959
recs for a n00b
Since you've never rooted or used a custom ROM before I suggest starting with either mROM or MMuzzy's ROMs. They are close to stock but will get you to Android version 4.2.1
mROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763823
MMuzzy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762846
Remember to MAKE A NANDROID. After you use the toolkit to unlock, root, etc. boot into recovery and MAKE A BACKUP. Also, when you root/unlock it factory resets your phone, so anything not on the SD card that you want to keep, backup to your computer.
This is the thread which completely helped when I was new to rooting and all this stuff. No further help was needed. The methods are very well explained here.

1. use these drivers.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379875
2. no you need custom recovery and unlcoked bootloader to flash roms
3. read one of these threads to understand more about rooting, and flashing roms so you dont mess up your phone

ok a few thing i might want to clear the model i9250 what its genric name or mean whats its type is it yakuju or jord something like that.....and installing the driver and downloading the firmware from google site what i do next mean connecting the phone whats the app by which i flash through and how to files in the zip i download
In a nutshell (this is assuming you have working adb/fastboot drivers set in your system PATH and that the bootloader is already unlocked):
1. Download the 4.2.1 factory image from Google - https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/yakju-jop40d-factory-279cdc5d.tgz
2. Extract the resulting file using 7-Zip to your Desktop
3. Open a command prompt window in the folder where the IMG files from that TGZ are
4. Connect your phone in fastboot mode
5. Run flash-all.bat
Once finished you'll be on 100% stock 4.2.1

1) i gave you step by step instructions.
2) you're a rom dev, if you cant figure out those instructions you need to stop doing rom dev stuff.
3) read and follow the guide. it takes at most 30min to do and thats if you have to setup everything and dont know a thing about fastboot. it should take you 5min so your "i'm in med school and dont have time" excuse will be pathetic.

rad,
okay, first, calm down dude, it's nothing catastrophic, you just still have a stock [ish] recovery.
goto the tab 10 thread and download the odin image for the recovery you want.
find and follow the proper instructions and you'll be good.
search, noob, read, noob, follow instructions, dude, yay ! :silly:

the problem were the drivers .... SOLVED
does this work for non-rooted phones? I thought you had to be rooted or able to enter download mode for odin to work with a device.
Locked my boatloader by mistake now it won't boots I need help ASAP.... I'm losing my mind over here I need someone to help me please for the love of God somebody... Just bought this phone for like $1,000 and now I'm looking at a ****ing brick......
no worries, you technically cant brick it that easily.
Check the MSM thread for your exact model and follow the steps get it back and running again.
^ Yeah an MSM flash will have you right as rain. Just wondering how the you locked the bootloader "by mistake" that seems like a difficult mistake to make.
was trying to restore and forgot how op works lol...i got it fixed now. while your here, how can i flash twrp and flash a rom? having issues with this now..
Anybody have any ideas of how I can ROM my phone? Been sitting here trying to do it for the last I don't know how long now
So I'm not sure about YOUR phone, if you have a recovery partition you can just flash recovery, if you don't have a recovery partition then you need to fastboot boot twrp first. And there are a few ways to flash a rom, my recommendation would be Fastboot Enhance I personally haven't tried it yet but it seems to work pretty good and even though it's in the 8T category it should work fine. Now one thing that is noteworthy with Fastboot enhance though is that it flashes the current slot instead of the inactive slot.
