Check your recovery backups, see if you have too many, they can take up quite a bit of space.

i dont think so, i remember reading someone with a similar problem in another forum but cant for the life of me remember where, sorry! are u on a custom rom? try reflashing or connect to your computer and use the explorer to see where all your space has gone. if that doesnt show more space and a reflash doesnt fix maybe its your internal storage itself i think thats what it was with the other person and its irreparable without replacing. I know Flac music files are crazy big but i assume ud know if it was that. hope i help in some way and if i come across the other person with the same problem ill post a link.

I had a similar issue after flashing a new rom, it would show up with about 9gb taken up space even though nothing showed up. The way I'd fixed it was by formatting the sd card from clockworkmod.

A few ideas
Install solid explorer from the play store. It has a mode that lets you see what is eating up space graphically.
If you download roms vía rommanager or any other app check the sd card folders for those downloads. they're about 150 mb a piece so they can add up (especially if you do nightlies)

If i format my sd card via recovery,
Do i lose my apps?

You will lose any apps installed on the SD card.

Vaulty not working correctly

Hey guys. I started using Vaulty this week I realized HideNSneek no longer worked because it couldnt see the external sd card.
Vaulty only hides two of my videos and 163 out 166 pics. I contacted the vendor and they have no clue.
Any ideas?

Why don't you just make a folder and put a . Before the name then it hides. Unless you know about it you won't be able to find it.

Where is my storage space?

So I flashed 4.1.1 jelly bean and I was checking my storage and this is what I got!! What's wrong with my storage?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I recognise that. I had the same problem, but you just have to wait. There is a tab that is called misc. That show up after a while, there is probably your storage disappearing.

your available storage space is 4.33G, what is the problem?
I have 13.33 GB available overall and I haven't used more than 3 GB yet it says I only have 4GB left!!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Same here buy it doesn't bother me so much
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
While it was "Calculating" there is an item called "Misc", and it disappears after calculating is done. I think maybe it's your nandroid backups, Titanium backups, or some other files. I suggest you to adb shell into your device and use "busybox du -sd1" to see which directory takes most space.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda-developers app
Exactly the same happens on my Gnex
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I don't have titanium backup or anything. My phone isn't even rooted. Did any of you guys find a solution to this problem?
What is a nandroid backup anyway?

use a free google play market app called DiskUsage to find exacty whats taking up your storage..
Thanks man. That worked, it shows that I have my old apps (Shadow gun, max Payne etc) still stored. Is it safe to just delete them using the app you recommended since it gives me the option to?

yea, thats what i normally do when i find something taking space that i dont want. its usually app data from a deleted app that takes up the missing space(for me).

ASTRO file manager is a good tool for doing the usual file manipulation tasks, and it does not require a rooted phone to work with SD card contents. It's free on the Play store.
Just long-press on a file and tap "delete" or use the "multi" button to select and move/copy/delete/etc. multiple files at once.

App to sd card

Hi all
Please let me know which ap is good for note 2 to move application to sd card which is in phone memory

I'm not sure why you'd need to but try apps2sd from the market - it's free.

That's pointless in this phone.
If you read the app description is even says, "Not supported devices: * Galaxy S3, Note 2, Galaxy Nexus, Tablets"
The only way to get apps installed in sd card is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931500
Ahh, my bad. Thanks.

You need something like Directory Bind. Kind of tricky though. Unfortunately gone are the days that google will support moving apps away from internal memory.
Hey I need because internal memory is 14 gb so when it geys full I want app which I move the data to sd card

This function is not supported, however you can change to custom roms that may support this, or just install redpill kernel and use the function in the stweaks to make your external sdcard an internal sdcard. This is the easiest method If you get any problems just post some question in the link below, i'll be making some tutorial on how to do this kind of things soon

How do I delete back up done by clock work recovery

Its not visible in the file explorer..and its almost occupying more then 2 gig ram..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Boot into clockwork, Then scroll to backup/restore and you see a delete option inside. So it has to be done through clockwork.

It's not occupying any ram. Especially since the Gnex only has 1GB.

download root explorer if you have not already and go to sd card/clockwork mod/backup and delete which ever one you wanted to
Dint help...I had to do it in recovery mode.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The blob folder occupies the most space.
I believe, however, that erasing that folder will render all backups useless.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Deleting the backup in recovery mode would take care of the blob part, you don't ve to delete blobs separately .

More information, what are you trying to download, what browsers have you tried??
You always write these incomprehensible posts and never give any info.

Usually a different browser will work.
Or search play store for a downloader, it will strictly download the link you put in.
If it's a rom, just download on pc

Hello sir, try changing the settings in the browser to where actual files are downloaded to. If it says save to memory card change to internal, or vise versa. Hope it helps. The option is "default storage"

What files from what app? This is sort of like calling a mechanic and telling him your car won't start, then asking him to fix it over the phone. Please give more details. Also did you try any of the browser suggested?

What rom....and what apps2sd scripts are you using if any ?
Changes you've made recently have caused this ???
Updates perhaps ???
My thoughts are leaning toward applications that point to downloads being force placed to external storage...
And the default is internal storage..
Something is likely causing a conflict in the mapping before the download starts...
If you are not opposed to testing, you should revert to a known rom setup that worked..
Or if needed...restore the device totally if the issue cannot be found...
Scripts are often hard to track down ...and I think one of them...or at least parts are present that prevent the correct mapping to occur...
Just my thought at 3 a.m.
So go easy on me....LOL...g
