Hey Guys,
i wanted to share a small mini project i did.
one of the biggest problems i had is that i really wanted to use the original mounts due to the charge and auto car mode but i also really wanted to keep a case, so i decided to make my own.
ingredients:
1 X (old) Samsung galaxy s2 car mount. (any OEM mount will do just fine).
1 X OEM Samsung generic car mount.
1 X generic metal cell phone plate (purchased from bestbuy car section for 5$).
3 Phillips head screws.
1 X small tube of multipurpose 9000 super glue.
its pretty self explanatory so i will just add the pictures
it works great with any case on, and have full charge / auto car mode / audio out.
if you like, hit the thank you button

custom uglyness is my opion.
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing. If it's not up to K.0.0.L's standards, maybe he can offer some constructive criticism to help you build upon your work.
thank you
the functionality is perfect, which what was important to me.
i dont think its "ugly" as KOOL said...
mounted u barely see the USB circuit...
as long as i have a auto car mode with case and mount i am happy.
maybe in the future if ill think of something i will add a plastic piece to cover the USB but till then, in my eyes this is the best of having a case on and audio out/auto car mode / charge.

I use this rubber skin to keep my phones finish looking new. Also, I found this vent mount at an auto parts store for $8.99 USD. Works very well! And You can also see the control module for my Parrot CK3000 behind the steering wheel.

Here's another shot of just the mount.
I hated vent mounts until I saw this one. Usually they look big and clunky, taking up a lot of space. But this one is very low profile. And when i'm not using GPS, I can easily remove it and fold the clamp flat to put it away. It's called Type S. Got it at Pep Boys if anyone is interested.
Also, the Parrot CK3000 is just awesome! It works so well I bought a newer version for my wifes car to use with her wizard. I highly recommend this kit if you like a clean look in your car. The new ones are all black and are less than $100 USD on Amazon.
And lastly, I've been using this rubber skin I got from EBay for about $10 USD for about 7 months. It's very nice. The only problem is that the scroll wheel is a little more difficult to use but the scroll ball does the same function. It's a little thick but it still fits snug into the OEM HTC holder that comes with the phone. It has really protected my phone well. I've dropped it a couple of times but I don't even have one scratch on my phone after about 8 months of ownership. I highly reccommend it if you don't mind the extra thickness. For me it wasn't a big deal because I have big hands and it actually makes the device easier to handle now. It was too small without the skin for me. Just wanted to share this for the archives.
please, shop in ebay?
Is your HTC P3300 battery running out of life quickly or will it not start-up at all? The battery life of your HTC P3300 Mobile is limited like any other device containing rechargeable batteries. The battery capacity of the HTC P3300 Pocket PC drops every time you use it.

New Cars
Hi
Car Accessories is looking beautiful but actually there is one problem that is i don't know about how to drive a car. So exactly i don't know this car is cheap or costly.
Those were nice car accessories that you have for your P3300. I hope that you are having a good time using that accessory and maybe in the future, you can find one again that will definitely suits you.
So I'm looking for a car dock. I want something that can mount to my windshield and rest at just below the dash level..excuse my crude photoshop, but I think showing you all what I mean would probably result in a better set of suggestions.

So that position, while it looks pretty low is only about 8-10 inches from the windshield. Id rather avoid a cluttered dash mount/pad. I'm also not crazy about the idea of the air vent mounts as that doesnt seem like a very long-term or stable platform. As for the audio out, are there any docks with an audio out...basically giving the user the ability to run both audio and power to one side of the device?
well why not one of these?
buy a longer windshield mount once you see if it is the center pin style or the 4 pin model?
that is what im planning on doing

I had a windshield mount but when making sharp curves or adjusting it, it would slide off. (Sliding off would weaken the suction but pulling on it was okay...
if you want an easy and low key to mount, your EVO, I would invest in an extra battery cover that has been modified with magnets, then place some magnets on your dashboard (if placed properly they might look like part of the dashboard). Just switch at the beginning and end of your trips.
This is the nicest one I have found yet with the most features and a great price.

that is a great price.. but i dont see power/audio... which OP was asking...
A dock with audio is impossible unless it has Bluetooth built-in. The only audio output pins on the Evo are in the headphone port.
No it don't it just leaves the port open so you can hook up to it but its nice it has the length and a nice feature I like is it keeps the camera open while still docked

So, I'm still waiting for the official Samsung dock with the functional 3-pins. Until then, this is my temporary solution...
Velcro Brand Removable Picture Hangers have a unidirectional hook which makes removing the phone really easy as you just slide it upwards.
The product comes with the hook side and the loop side. The loop is supposed to go on your wall (car) and the hook is supposed to go on the object you're hanging (picture frame) or in this case, the phone. If you put the hook on the phone though, it's going to catch on your pocket, your jacket, your sweater, etc., so I reversed it and put the loop in my car and the loop on the phone.
The hook can go anywhere. I just put it over my CD player because I never use it.

If you're going to put the hook in the car, make sure you reverse the directions so Velcro is now written upside down and the arrows point down also.
Loop patch on the back of the phone.
Hang it.
Voila
To remove, just slide it straight up. Comes right off.
I've actually been using this solution for about 2 years starting with my Droid X (instead of the official car dock) and later Droid Charge. My brother has it in his WRX, my wife has it in her Outback and I've had it in a Tacoma and most currently, a 328xi.
crap...these images are way too big...
Edit: Fixed
Looks good. However with my car there will be no place for it. I'll keep looking for solutions.

Thanks. Out of curiosity, what kind of car do you have? All you need is a few inches of flat real estate somewhere on the dash within your arms reach.
So does this leave sticky residue on the back of my phone? So everytime I take my phone off and want to make a call everyone will see a huge sticky pad?
Nope, removable silicone adhesive. Won't damage painted drywall either.
not bad at all... I need to figure out something, I'm really shocked that they were able to build such a beautiful phone but can't release a decent dock for either desk or vehicle that easily allows us to charge our phone and plug in a audio cable... They need to get it together and provide some accessories so i can give them more of my money!
Hi Guys
I am really struggling to find what I am looking for and am hoping someone might be able to help me.
I have a Galaxy S2 that has an 2000mah extended battery installed and a Case Mate Tough case.
I am looking for a sturdy car mount that will allow me to leave the case on but also does not cover the camera lens.
Any suggestions?
(PS.. the reason I dont want to take the case off each time is that to get the extended battery to fit under the tough case you have to leave the phone back off or it doesnt fit.
No one had any suggestions at all?

Having used quite a few car mounts I found the Tetrax Xway by far the best. Takes absolutely no effort to put your phone onto the mount and you can also use it for any next phone / tablet that you buy. It's also extremely sturdy, yet easy to take out the phone.
Wanted to link to the product, but since I am a new user I cant.. Lots of stuff you can find on youtube though. Try the galaxy tab one if you really want to be convinced of its sturdyness
Only downside is that you have to stick something to the back of your phone(case). Hasn't really bothered me though, but some people are a little OCD on aesthetics.
Edit:
One thing I forgot to mention is that this mount is also very easy to remove and should fit in almost any car since it uses the car vents. Very easy to install + remove.
exomount here. had mine ages, no lack of grip, survives a car with 20year old suspenion (classic mini) driving over terrible pot holed roads (Wales...).
We even fitted it to my brother's Rallycross car for some in car footage.
There's a Garmin rubber Base that you could place upon the Car Tableau the good thing about it that the device won't shake and move a lot while driving

haven't used it, but looks interesting

So I recently got myself a 2004 Nissan Maxima.
This is what the centre console looks like stock
Anyways, when I bought the Nexus 7 I placed in front of the screen and it was a perfect fit. I decided to open it all up and move the screen to a lower position. (I lost one of those map pockets but whatever). Sidenote: on the left side of the picture under the steering column I tucked away an Avantree bluetooth module. Helped me retrofit the car with bluetooth audio so no wires
After all that I was left with this:
So i decided to install my N4 qi wireless charger in there. It's pretty ghetto really, I bought some cardboard, some felt and a pvc pipe for support taped it all together and:
Gave it power by soldering a micro usb cable down the back. Placed it in the huge space while resting the end of the pvc pipe onto an inner lip:
Best part is, my N4 fits nicely as well and because of the rubber lip I created to help the N7 slide in, it isn't free to move around.
When I took these pictures the soldering wasn't done which is why they aren't charging in the photos.
Anyways, thought I'd share, hope you guys liked it! Also sorry if this was more of a mod than an accessory but still
Let me know what you guys think!
I think its awesome!
Question though, how are you running Navigation with the Nexus 7? Are you tethering your phone to it? Or is it LTE?
There are lots of offline gps apps (navigon, sygic,...). And you can update the maps over wifi since the n7 is removable from his build carboard. No traffic informations I guess, but that's fine with me.
Very nice though. I wanted to do a thing like that but there are too many modifications to do on my '96 Peugeot 106^^
Maybe with a new car in a few years.
On my 2.3 device I had a "car interface", it's helpful for quick interactions. You might wanna look it up
