Can't get blue led notification to go away - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

On my s3, the checkboxes for the leda work fine. If i uncheck a box, that led didn't show up. For example, i don't have anything checked except for charge..all i don't get the flashing blue led for new email. This is the behavior i expect.
On my wife's s3, i can't get it to stop flashing blue for new emails. I've wiped the phone. I've flashed the root injected rom. I've flashed the ucalg root rom. Nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?

Just as a test did you try removing her mail account just to see if it continues to stay blue?

It does the same thing for text messages

I have the same problem on an international S3..
blue led light blinks for SMS/email etc - even when i turn that 3rd option off!

Turning on only the last setting in "LED NOtification" and then using this app seems to have fixed it, i think
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735331

I fixed this by flashing the latest ariel rom that is based on I747UCALH1. I'm unsure about if other roms based on I747UCALH1 also fix the problem.

[REQ] Speed up notification LED

Hello, as per the title, anyone know of or can whip something up that would speed up the notification flash of the LED?
I find that you often have to spend a good few seconds looking at the device to see if the light is flashing ...admittedly it doesn't sound a lot but its pretty easy to miss a flash.
I'd prefer to see at a glance if I have a message... maybe a flash every couple of seconds or something.
Surely I can't be alone in thinking the flashes are too far apart at the moment?
Cheers

I just use Go SMS Pro which has an option to use LED Notifications with settings and have it set to flash at very fast and white which looks great
Check around here few threads already about LED notification. The best one i found is LIghtflow, u can customize the rate of flash even always on option.
I use Light Flow app it lets you change the colour and the speed of flash of notification LED

To bad lightflow makes the phone talk like crazy >.<
I hade to uninstall it.
The light version worked but when i bought it and after a reboot the stupid phone talked the crap out of me and made me uninstall it with no way to get a refund due to the time that hade passed before i rebboted the phone in order to flash new CWM.
I say go with the go sms pro and hoe the phone keeps talkback away.
Perhaps you can try this app to select LED notification color or its flashing frequency

Light Flow issue fixed on 4.1.1

Hey guys. Im having a problem with Light Flow. Im sure a lot of you use it? Although i couldnt find many threads on it. I even searched Google for this issue. So hopefully you guys can help.
Anyways im using Light Flow 3.0.2
And it works great but a lot of the time ill get a notificiation (screen will be off) the LED will flash its appropreate color. Ill check the notification (Lets say Gmail) read the email, delete the email, respond to the email w/e and turn the screen off again.
Then the LED will still be flashing for that notification even though i checked it and erased it.
The only way i have found to fix this other then reboot ofcourse is to go into Light Flow > Notifications. I notice when i do this LightFlow gets granted Superuser then i exit turn screen off and all is good.
Any ideas?

Did you make sure you don't have any other app notifications that have the same color?
Are you using any task killers or killing the app with the hold of back button?
Same issue here, disabled it until it gets an update to support JB.

for me
when removed the app it disabled the vibration for new sms, gmail ..etc
tried everything without success (disabled settings & re-enable it, rebooting, ...etc), so I didn't bother to install it again after a factory reset (stock ICS by the way)
if anyone had the same problem and knew how to correct it let me know.
delete me please
There is a lightflow widget that clears all lightflow notifications when tapped.
I am just using that while waiting for a fix (which couldn't come soon enough).
FYI guys with JB 4.1.1 I got light flow to work 100%

So i found out a little more.
So for me before 4.1.1 SMS was my biggest issue that notification would never go away unless i manually cleared it with the app or the widget.
I noticed that is was working on 4.1.1 after i went to accessibility and turned it off and then on again for Lightflow. after i did this i noticed that the notification for SMS was clearing on its own. So i thought it was all good.
UNTIL
I reset/tuned off the phone and received another txt. The notification would not clear on its own. So i was messing around with it and went back to accessibility and turned it off and on again and now the SMS notification clears itself until the next reset of the phone.
Hope it works for you guys. I dont mind toggling a setting until an update comes out.
lightflow issues not fixed on 4.1.1 derp :silly:
Gtalk and Gmail both clear correctly. Gonna see how it is with SMS and Missed Call when I get one of those.
uh. what's up with the title of this thread?
How about on 4.1? Is it playing nice on there? A ToroPlus GNex here...I will buy it if yes
I just downloaded the lite to try it. I feel like its hit or miss. Too much customization and easy to get lost. For example, right now, I have two different notifications going off for like SMS and email. Because within the SMS and email app themselves I've defined a notification sound and then within light flow settings you can define a sound. So I get x2. I think the trick may be to go into the app settings themselves and set them to silent. Then use light flow and set the sounds up. That seems to be the KEY. However, there is a learning curve it seems to this APP. Once you set it up, your good...but dam it takes awhile.
Colors are working good though, but the dismissal of notification via "opening the app" dont work worth crap. You have to set it to "on screen" dismissal
Plus I found myself disabling and re-nabling the app from withing settings --> Accessibility often.

No, I was fine on 4.0.4 but when i went to 4.1 it stopped working, I'm now on 4.1.1 and it's still not working.
It is a fantastic app though, I'm sure the developer will update the app eventually to work with 4.1.1.

Notification LED working?

Hi, so I've had my P6 for over a week now and I assumed that it didn't have LED notifications for missed calls/SMS etc. But a few other people here have confirmed that the LED definitely flashes to notify you. My phone only seems to use the LED to show the battery charge state when it's charging. Can anyone else confirm that the LED works for notifications and how you enable it!?
I've got the P6-U06 international version running B111. I didn't have any LED notifications on B106 or B107 either.
I'm running apex launcher but can't see why that would make a difference. I can't find any setting relating to the LED in any of the settings menus either.
Any help would be great

I read on on a forum (can't remember where) that there is a bug regarding led notifications. If you link to a Google account when initially setting up the phone the led notifications don't work, so the advice is to skip linking to a Google account at initial setup screens and then add your Google account from the Settings>Accounts later.
Hope this makes sense, I did exactly this and my notification led has always worked as it should.

Ah, well we did enter our Google account when setting the phone up. I guess the only way to do it would be to do a factory reset and start again but skip the Google account bit.
Thanks for that. I'll give it a try

Nope, only green & red I'm afraid. It's a shame really. When the phone is charging it also shows a yellow(ish) colour but i've been unable to reproduce it by selecting yellow for the notification in apps that allow it (Whatsapp, Aqua mail etc.)
I've also downloaded a few apps that allow you to customise the colour of the notification LED just to see if I can make it a different colour, but only ever get red & green. I think it must be limited by the ROM - maybe the Huawei devs will allow changes in future updates, but i won't hold my breath!
It can only produce red/yellow/green, such a pity it cant produce blue
Yes, I'm thinking the LED may be a dual-LED with red & green, then using both red & green together to make yellow. That may be all we can get.

Light Flow issue

Hi guys, i'm having some troubles with Light Flow and KitKat on my Nexus 4.
I have set the led notification color etc.. but when there are notifications the led doesn't pulse.
I also try the testing mode of any notification and the led doesn't pulse but the led works..
Someone else has this problem? solutions?
I dont have any issue on my nexus...and you're wrong forum section..it should be on QA and Answer..

Same thing happens on my N4 with the paid version on stock rooted KitKat. I did a LED test in Light Flow to make sure everything works and it does, but the LED lights up about 20-30 seconds after I begin the test.
I then tried the free version of LEDBlinker and the LED lights instantly during the LED test and actual notifications.

No problem, at all.
Light flow works like a charm to me.
Stock, rooted, clean install of 4.4.
I have a problem on KitKat it notifies me but sometime a notification isn't dismissed from the app so the led just keeps flashing. Its annoying but as KitKat is new it'll hopefully be fixed.

I have a issue with lightflow too .. sometime the led is working like a charm, then sometime (like 20% of time when i got a notification) nothing happen, i mean there is no led notification AT ALL !
Didn't try LEDBlinker because i like light flow for its feature to open screen for 5 second when a notification income
I have the issue where if I want read a text message after my screen is turned off then the light blink continues to go off. Its really annoying

Make sure to turn the accessibility service on and tick the notification access. (Security->Notification Access.)
Works perfectly fine for me, haven't had any issues with Lightflow on KK.

Try using Light Flow in "Foreground Mode" (No idea what the setting is called in English - i'm using localization), it sometimes gets killed by Android to free up ressources for other apps.
There's a new update out that has a few fixes for Kit Kat. The long delay of LED notification was fixed on my phone and all my custom settings react instantly.

The same happened to me, I found a temporary fix for that specific issue, though. If you go into the Lightflow there should be an option called like "Hangouts - All Notifications" or something like that, enable that one and the LED should start working again when you get an SMS in Hangouts.
The update isn't perfect... Sometimes it fails in SMS, but i think it will b just fine in the next couple updates, it's a very good app.

Notificaion LED no longer works

Has anyone else noticed that the notification LED works sometimes and then sometimes it doesn't. My Wife's phone no longer indicates her of any text messages anymore. I have tried power cycling the phone and doing a hard reset (holding power down until it reboots) and nothing seems to fix it. I ran the LED test in the system menu and the light works. I also checked all the settings and everything is properly enabled. My phone indicates me of text messages but one of my e-mail accounts doesn't update me anymore. Any ideas?

Can you tell if this problem started after you installed and removed a custom led notification app? Many have reported such problems with apps like light flow lite.
I would suggest a reset to factory if the problem persists. Before you do so make sure your data is properly backed up.

All of her settings were properly setup under settings. Also, she has no custom apps for LED installed, nor do I. I noticed on the HTC One M7 forum there is a lot of people complaining about this issue after taking the 4.3 update. That seems to be about the time from from when I first noticed the issue.
