Desire HD wont turn on?

Hey guys,
Was just looking through the market and saw an animations app, so i downloaded it, installed as normal, accepted the superuser request and chose what animation i wanted, (I chose blur if it makes any difference). It then requested a reboot, so i rebooted, but now nothing happens to my phone, It is just like the phone is powered off, nothing comes up on the screen. Ive tried booting normally and booting into recovery but nothing
Any ideas?
I'm using Leedroid ROM and Kernel, both on the latest versions.

What happend if you plug in the power cable? Isn't booting into recovery?

Nope nothing happens, it's just like its got no power to it :/

take out your battery, put it back in and restart your DHD.

charge battery till full ?

Take your battery out for five minutes, put it back and connect charger. Do not touch the power button.

Nope nothing happened

Take the battery out again, put it back and then hold volume down & power button. You can also connect the charger to be sure that this is not caused by low battery level. If it still stays off, you should send it to HTC.

Yep still nothing happens, send it to HTC even though it is rooted?

You have no other choice. Software mods do not void warranty, so it should be ok.

I'm having the same problem now... wilky let me know if you get it working or if HTC gets it fixed without a hassle, because mines rooted .

I have the same problem. When I put the Battery and plug in the chagher the red led start to flash.
After 1 minute stops.
If someone can help us we will be very happy!!!!!!

Got the same problem after starting to format my sdcard with cwm. Just nothing happens anymore, but when i connect my dhd to my computer its indicated as device "qhsusb_dload", but i cant access it with adb or anything. Tried to foce install htc-drivers, but didnt help. Gonna take it to a local o2 store and check if there can be anything done bout it.

when i drained my battery fully to the point that it turns itself off, when i plugged it in it sort of looped into boot, but after i remove the charger and plugged it again, the red light turned on and i just left if for ten minutes, then pressed the power button then i turned on as normal.
i'm thinking it might be because the battery is just too drained at one point.

I have same problem.
Its just happened NOW. What the hell ? What we can do to fix this ?

I had the same problem.
I charged aways the phone by the USB on my PC.
But this is a problem.
Try to charge for an Hour or two your usb original charger your phone.
My problem was that the battery was so empty that the PC USB coudn't had the power to charge it. The Original Charger CAN.
So dont wait more and put it and Charge.
Tell me if this was the resolution.

Desire dead after a system crash

Hi, Today during a surfing on the net with my wifi and in particular whan I was watching a video on youtube, my Desire stop working during the video and I removed the battery to unlock it, but when I reinsert the battery the phone don't power on and don't go on recovery, It seems completely dead, if I put it on charge the orange led work but when I press power or power + vol down the led turn off and there are no response from the phone.
What can I do? Can I send it to the asssistance, it is rooted with unrevoked and with djdroid 2.1 installed on it!, and I have it from a week because of the porblem of rebooting the asssistance have changed it the motherboard.
Please help me!

I think manufacturers tend to treat rooting = void warranty unfortunately
Are you able to connect with the handset via adb?

If it works, you might try to flash the correct branded stock rom (RUU) so you can return it?

The phone cannot be setting in any mode because it seems died at all, it is unusable with usb because it don't turn on, the system cannot found a device totally off.

Send an e-Mail to HTC
As you can't give your phone back to HTC, you could send them an e-mail, so that they could (maybe) help you to fix it ? Else.... you wil have to buy a new phone (if it isn't done yet). I'm sorry for you.

Eeek poor you, if you can't connect via usb then you have big problems

Does the phone vibrate after powering on? If it does, even if the screen seems dead, your phone is repairable. You might've just had a USB brick.

no, the phone don't vibrate, but it start to be warm when I press power. Anyway I have send him to assistance, because other people with the desire totaly dead have told to me that the assistance don't lose time if the phone won't turn on and simply replace the motherboard, because I think that is for the last replacement of the motherboard that it go down in a week.

They have changed me the phone again, the motherboard obviusly.

I have a big problem with my Desire.
I rooted it and installed AOKP Build 39 on it. Everything went fine, no problem up to this time. I did several restarts, everything ok.
Now, today the phone suddenly turned black, no reaction to any command. So I pulled the battery, put it back again, and then, nothing happened.
My desire only shows a black screen, none of the buttons are working (even Vol- + Power or trackball+Power). Even more suspicious is, that the loading LED is not showing up, although my phone is connected to the loading cable.
I really don´t know what to do. Does anybody of you have an idea what the problem could be?
PS: right now ist started vibrating (endlessly...)

I think that you can begin with construction bussiness, cause you have a nice and expensive brick...

Trackball + power isn't supposed to do anything, back button + power is.
But anyway if volume button + power doesn't work and that one neither, I think it's a brick as nlooooo said. Also because the LED isn't working. What does it do when connected to PC? Nothing I assume?

Yes, unfortunately connecting it to the PC does nothing.
What do you think, any chance to get it replaced?

if its still under warranty then u could chance sending it back to htc, just say u tried turning it on in the morning and... nothing just black screen. do NOT say anything bout s-off etc etc. im mean if ya cant even access hboot or no led lights or anything how will they know mite aswell try
dont forget take out ur sdcard incase they look at it n find a rom lol

No battery is not the problem. The same thing with another battery.
I´m still in waranty period, so I´ll have a try

Can anybody imagine why this happend? I mean the rom was working proberly, no errors during flashing, etc. And can a faulty rom/flash cause a fail of even the loading led?
I always thought that such "simple" things as loading are done directly by the hardware without any influence of the software installed on the phone (especially as loading has to work even if the phone is switche offline)

I think it's a big hardware prob. Can u boot into android, even if the screen's dead? Maybe u can provide the devs with a logcat.
Our G7 can be troublesome sometimes......

Maybe it´s a problem of the mainboard. As i cannot even switch on the phone. when I press the power button nothing happens. So, no logfiles.
I´ll send it to the producer tomorrow.

i recently installed JellyBean - JELLYTIME for DHD.İ succsesfully installed the rom and i used it for two day.After that i setted up the alarm to go to work and at the morning it was ringing but the sound level was very very poor.İ looked the screen it was not opening.Than i take out battery and powered on again it was not working.Only vibrating one time.İ thought that the battery is empty because of it.İ connected the charger and there isnt any red indicator on the phone it is not working.İ tried with different battery different charge.Take out battery for 30 mins but it doesnt change it is not working.Only when i press the power it is vibrating and 2 minute later vibrating again and nothing.Sometimes i am hearing a sound like the battery level is low something like that but nothing else.How can i solve this problem??

have you tried holding down volume down key and pressing the power on key to get into recovery when turning the phone on ?

yes i tried several times but not working there is not any light in the screen and when i connect charger charger light dont work to only 2 times vibrate and notting.

do you have any relatives, friends, college, neighbors have HTC DHD to make a try, maybe battery is dead.

Maybe is empty batt... try charge using dekstop or try other batt..

Got the same after flashing Jellytime R25. Maybe not battery issue since I've tested with my spare batteries to no avail. This happened right after successfully flashing and rebooting from CW Recovery.
EDIT: found one link that mention the volume being shorted hence it wont boot. suggested it ribbon connector. Did that and it now boots. Goodbye volume rocker. http://www.frameworktraining.co.uk/hdfixed/

Only thing I can say.
Put in the power cable and try to start with volume down and power.
Hold it for some time till it vibrates.
A friend had a new HTC One V and got this also. I solved it by trying the above.
First times it did not worked. Only after some tries.

i tried several times power and vol down it is not working when i press them only vibrates and there is not any light on the screen.İ plugged in the charge but i think it is not charging.The red indicator doesnt work.This is a strange situation.i dont know maybe jellybean burned my chip of desire hd.

i give it to a service and they request a lot of money to repair and i didnt give i went to another service i gave and they are trying to fix that man said that from screen or from board we are waiting a desire hd screen to try working or not i dont know what the problem is.Anybody has got the same problem?

Desire HD won't turn on

Hi guys,
yesterday I tried to recover the original ROM for Desire HD. During the process in bootloader, my phone shutdown, and I can't turn it on now, even the bootloader wont run. I think my battery was too low, even tought the phone showed 99% (it happened before, even though the battery was almost dead), and it died during the update. Basically, I'm not able to access any feature right now, I'm not sure, if the phone is charging - when I plug it in, the orange light turns on, but when I unplug, the light stays on. Bootloader won't start, but when I press both volume buttons and power button, the phone vibrates 3 times, green light turns on, and thats all.
If you need more info, please ask.

You were recovering official ROM from the RUU? This should not result in your device being bricked.
Please try removing the battery for about 10 seconds, then press Vol Dn+Power button and a partial bootloader showing RUU failed or a similar error should open.
Then connect your phone to your PC and again run the Official RUU Setup.
Hit "Thanks" if I helped you. Also click "Donate to me" on the left if u wanna give something in return

Hi, thanks, nothing happens when I push down volume down and power buttons, even after removing batteries. I believe something is actually happening ,but nothing shows on the screen, because when I push volume down and power, and then I plug in the power cable, the orange light does not turn on, while when I plug it in without the combination, it does turn on.
I think that was an official Rom, because I've used it before, and my phone was not rooted afterwards - I did this successfully two times before. However, I recovered it from SD card (pd98img zip copied on the ssd).

Maybe you can try it...just try let the charge is plug in...n leave it be for a hour maybe...don't try to turn on the phone..
After a hour you can try unplug the charge...and remove your battery first...then put it in again...then try power on with pressing volume down+power button..just let see if this time the phone can go to bootloader or not..

yeah. I thought about that, but I dont have any desire hd battery here, and I don't know how to charge this one without the phone.

I appear to be having similar problems with it not turning on. when i plug in the charger i get no orange light atall.. if i leave it plugged in (usually within 1hr to 2) eventually it will boot to custom recovery and from there i can reboot the phone and will boot to android. but it does not last very long atall usually about 30mins. have reset battery stats from recovery but doesnt seem to help.
from what i can find online its dieing but can anyone advise on if it will be the battery or the phone itself???
i have just spent $30 fixing digitizer and lcd in the past month. if it is needing a new battery i will proberbly do that but if not it can go..
hope this may help with your problem or any other....

probably won't help my problem.
but to solve yours, download one of the apps that tells you how much battery health you have. You might also get a pretty good deal on a new battery from ebay
