Hi,
I would like to forward two email accounts to my Gmail account, so I can just use one inbox in the gmail app. My first account is through Yahoo and my second email account is my .edu email through outlook. Anyone know a quick way to load my account settings so I receive all my email through Gmail?
Thanks in advance!
Ok, I got my .edu address to forward. The problem I'm having with Yahoo is it wants me to pay for it's premium service. Is there any way to forward to gmail without upgrading?
Don't forward it from Yahoo, but use Gmails POP support to pull emails from Yahoo.
Gmail config is under Settings > Accounts and Import > Check mail from other accounts (using POP3)

I'm trying through Gmail, when I use my yahoo account it gives me the message that POP forwarding is only available for Yahoo plus.

Hmm, sorry, looks like I was wrong. I was doing something similar not too long ago but I have now closed my Yahoo account so I can't check it out. I'm in Canada, and it looks like there is some difference between free vs. paid services as well.
Google is your friend, try this:
http://www.wikihow.com/Switch-from-Yahoo!-Mail-to-Gmail
or this
http://www.androidappspoint.com/40321-forward-yahoo-mail-gmail-free-android-apps-android-10.html
(Note: someone there said it doesn't work anymore for Asia and to try using UK it seems to be free for some countries so it is a loop-hole.)

The first link doesn't help with Yahoo, and the second link I've tried already with Asia and UK. Both settings still required me to sign up for yahoo premium.

poutlook, built into the phone?? I use that for my gmail, i wonder if yahoo supports pop or imap settings
Yahoo does support POP, don't know if it does IMAP. But you have to pay for their premium service in order to access via POP. So yes, you can just use pocket outlook but you will have to pay Yahoo $$ to access POP

I use yahoo and gmail for free. Just set up a new email account using your email id, and you should be all set to go. No need to pay anything, and outlook will do it for you.
hmmm, I wonder when they changed that? I used to have to pay in order to access via POP...
So I tried to setup my Yahoo account in pocket outlook and it sets up an IMAP profile for it, cool! So I guess IMAP is free but you pay for POP?

cool, some tmail.exe modules and baseapps in kitchens have different prefferences or seem to get different preferences for providers, for example new 20931 base sets my gmail up as pop by default, when prior builds setup gmail as a imap account. facinating that it's a hit or miss. I'll have to see if there is a way to tell the difference on the kitchen side
thanks for the responses! my yahoo works with pop (yahoo.com.ar) I know some countries did not have POP for free...
i'll test poutlook! thnkas!

SWEETNESS! glad we could help man!!
i successfully set up my hotmail in my X1, set the sync frequency to As Items Arrive, intending to activate push mail.
but now everytime i have new mail, i am not notified at all, not even showing of the numbers of new mails in the Today Screen.
i still need to manually go Menu > Send/Receive to update my mailbox.
any1 got solution or what application i need install?
thanks
yes: GMAIL lol
This would be a workaround, but it would work.
1. Create a Gmail account.
2. Forward your Hotmail to Gmail.
3. Set up your Gmail so that you can reply using your Hotmail account. (yeah you can do that...nifty eh?)
4. Go to your Outlook on your phone and set up "gmail-sync" as your push mail account to retrieve from. It's in beta right now but is working 100% perfectly on my Kaiser. (I'm in here because I'm getting a SEX1 in a couple days ) I frickin' LOVE IT - it pushes IMMEDIATELY as soon as the mail comes in. Instructions here:
http://www.google.com/mobile/products/sync.html#p=winmo
5. Now all your e-mails will be stored to your phone permanently too, instead of the inbox getting wiped every time you send receive, or whenever you have your timing set up for that.
6. Forget about Hotmail and start using Gmail lol. Just kidding...but if you set it up that way, you can still use your Hotmail completely, Gmail will be practically invisible to you. (Or is it the other way around? lol)
Seriously, Google's free push e-mail service is amaaazing. I am LOVING it.
ohhh pls tell me how to fwd mails
in aol /hotmail pls
Syncing frequency to As Items Arrive works perfectly for me.
I confirm that both hotmail and gmail works as a push mail on my XPERIA.
For hotmail, you can just use windows live connection setup and choose/set "as items arrive" and set the time as "always". For gmail, you can use the activesync feature on outlook mobile as have been told by deezy7 above.
Or else, you can use the feature from Emoze service.
hi all.
thanks for ur advices.
i did add my hotmail using the Windows Live program, did set to "as items arrive" and did set for "always"
but nothing ever appear in my pjone for new mail unless i do it manually using "send/receive"
i prefer to use my hotmail acc ley.
any1 pls help mi.
thanks

I just set this up and it works Thank u for an explanation
But I have a question. Now only one of my mail accounts deliver mail. Is there an option to set more e-mail accounts to use push mail feature ?
If so how to do it ?

If you would like to have a free account for push mail service you should try Emoze. I have been playing with Emoze and honestly it helps me much to get my XPERIA have numerous mail account which works as a push mail ....
Ok, I did some workaround, created another gmail account and forwarded all my accounts to that one, and I receiving only that one.
Maybe not the best solution , but I prefer not to use online services like mobipush and such where u leave them your user name and password for each account u have...
As an alternative to Emoze i use Seven Beta. It provides near realtime push on most types of account.

Hey icbicb, in response to your other question as well, my suggestion would have been to do what you already did, which is create another gmail acccount I also prefer not to use any other online services, and was very happy when Google came out with Gmail Sync, since I've already been using my gmail account for five years, and don't have to give out sensitive information to yet another company
To those here using other services, I'd suggest you give Gmail Sync a try. Deedee, I noticed you said that Seven Beta provides you with near realtime push. I've noticed with Gmail Sync, and having my Gmail open at the same time on my pc at work, that Gmail Sync pushes in actual realtime! I'll hear the notification on my phone first before my page refreshes to show me my new e-mail! Also, I should mention that I am using gmail plug-ins to autoupdate the screen when new e-mails come in, and the Gmail sync sends them to my phone simultaneously or even before my page refreshes, thus, I know that it is actual real-time. Just like blackberry's service! I'm in love with it right now
icbicb, I'm glad it's working out for you , loyjwe I hope you are able to give this a try...
it's a good solution, but if i transfert the mail from hotmail to gmail they will be of the hotmail box...
And it's a probleme for me...
do you have a solution for that
(excus me for my bad english)
Big advantage of Seven Beta is that it works for almost all POP3/IMAP email systems and it keeps all the accounts separate so that replies from your PPC keep the correct return address.
I have it working on Gmail x 2, Hotmail and a POP3 account and all four accounts are independant of each other.
I said near real time sync as i didn't want to claim real time in case it wasn't. I rarely use the web interface since starting Seven so haven't been in a position to check. As i tell the BB users at work if you have time to compare the two delivery times then maybe you don't need a BB.

Hi titeloo...bad english is okay lol, but, I don't really understand what you mean by "they will be of the hotmail box..." need further explanation!!
@Deedee, gmail does that also....so... for example, when you get mail forwarded to your gmail account, if it was originally sent to your hotmail account, when you reply on the phone, it will reply from the hotmail account. Gmail's set up pretty good that way. I believe right now though they have a limit on the number of accounts you can send mail from, not sure if it is 3 or 4. So it's pretty neat that Seven Beta keeps all accounts separate ...btw very nice avatar
Seven is only restricted by the number of accounts that can be set up in WM, think it's 8 in total, that includes your ActiveSync/Exchange and SMS accounts.
Thanks for the compliment. Always prefer to use real piccies for avatars where practical.
I'm using gmail with one major gmail account plus few pop3 accounts.while using gmail at web I can chose which account name use for send out emails.i need sometimes to answer from another account name while still using one gmail login.
At android gmail application I cannot find such feature as changing "from"name. Any ideas?

The gmail app supports multiple accounts. Use that.
Also, you can go into your gmail settings from your PC and have one of your gmail accounts access your other POP3, managing those account for you. You can even set them up with a filter with autolabeling so they stand out in your inbox, also set them up so they show the original email when you reply.
I manage 7 email addresses this way, it works perfectly if you take the time to set it up well.

Now Im totally confused .
Via web Im using one gmail account ([email protected]) which receives mails from this adress and from 3 other servers via POP3. Mails are flagged - just as you described. We are here same, but:
- when I write answer to @gmail.com - it goes with @gmail.com, one answering for some POP3 message - answering as POP3 account owner. Via website everything is OK.
Via [email protected] if I receive mails to @gmail.com or any other POP3 Im always answering with the name and account set in Gmail application. So if somebody sends me email to account which is checked by gmail via POP3 once I answer from web - looks good, answered from phone - not as I use @gmail answering profile.
How can I match those in HTC to settings from Web?
Use K9 mail available from market, it let's you set up your gmail account and send e mails from different accounts
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
There are two email clients on android. The gmail app and the mail app. Use the later for multiple pop accounts and gmail at the same time. You can set up as many as you want. It's all built in. The google mail app is crap imo, just switch to the HTC one

Did you ever find a solution? I have the exact same question I have a gmail account, but my main email account is a work pop3. I used to use Outlook on my desktop and k9 on my EVO, but they didn't sync. Recently I changed over to using Chrome browser and gmail at work. I set gmail to check my work POP3 account and also have it set to send outgoing mail through the work pop3 server. My default "FROM" is my work POP3 address, but I can change the "FROM" to my gmail account using the drop-down in the "fROM" field. I also have another personal POP3 that I also have gmail checking and can send from that one as well.
My problem is that I can't select the FROM address when using the gmail app on my HTC EVO. It always addresses new messages from my default account which is the work POP3.
I like the gmail integration and don't want to to back to using multiple accounts in K9.
I cannot send outgoing email when out and about, but can receive incoming email anywhere.
When back in house and wifi, outgoing email suddeny sends.
I use pop3 on ukonline, so is there some security settings not working when not on wifi in house?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I did a search and this was only topic that returned.
Your SMTP settings will be incorrect.
I suspect that you will be using UKOnlines SMTP server for outgoing mail, which is fine when you are connected via WiFi (and hence, via their network), but will not work via Mobile Internet unless they allow authenticated access from outside their network.

Dave
I have two gmail accounts setup on my phone. Before the Froyo update, I would get instant new email notifications on both of my accounts. Ever since I updated to the Froyo final build, I only get new mail notification on my first account. The other one doesn't sync. Both of the accounts are setup to sync under the Settings->Accounts&Sync menu. Any ideas?
I have this exact problem. Help me please.
I have this problem too and it is frustrating!
On my phone I only have one gmail account set up as the official Google account. I then set up my other gmail accounts under the mail program including my primary gmail account. I disabled the syncing of my Google account and access all of my email through the mail program. I do this because I hate the gmail program and all of my gmail and yahoo accounts sync without problem.

I prefer the GMAIL app over the mail app because I am not the most techincally advanced person in the world and GMAIL easier to use in my opinion. I don't know how to make the mail app sync right when the email comes in like in GMAIL (went through the menu and did not find the option). Thanks for the suggestion it is really appreciated.
Some how i got mine working.
Delete the account
Re-add. It will say this account is not sync'ed (do not press menu and do the one time sync)
Now go to the home screen, menu, settings, accounts and sync. Click on the account and hit "snyc now" a few times.
Reboot the phone
Once back on go back to accounts & sync. Open the gmail account. You should now have the sync mail option.
Check the box, it should then sync
Ahould be good to go
This is exactly what i did and its working like it use to on 2.1

Glad it worked for someone else
I am using K-9 Mail to view all my mail. Great app, integrated inbox to view mail from all accounts at once, can set a color for each account, different notification for each account, very customizable.
Any word on this problem? Just flashed Froyo today and it's bugging me.
I've been having this issue, but I've been on Froyo for a while, I think there is a problem on the server side of things that its not pushing the mail to the phone. I've been posting to a Google help ticket and they said that they're aware that mail is not being pushed to some handsets and they are working on a solution.

You can actually use gmail email accounts to import emails from things like say yahoo so they all come to one email address if that makes sense, but otherwise its sacrifice time lol sorry...may i ask what is your intended use to have the 3 gmail accounts synced in your phone? Do u just want the emails themselves or all of googles services for all 3 if that makes sense.
I have a Yahoo account on my calander and does not sync.
