So Everything was working fine.I thought of installing this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780319
I made a full nandroid backup. When I rebooted into recovery and clicked install zip from sd card and chose that zip file, it gave a 'status 7 error'.
And now when I reboot i cant get into recovery.
PLEASE! Can someone tell me how do you get into recovery? I have wiped to factory reset/wiped cache and dalvik cache.
PLEASE!

Not really a good idea to install Pro ROMs on the Arc or vice versa. You need THIS.
OH DAMN!!! Why the heck didnt I see the 'Pro' there.Btw, will this zip not give me a status 7 error?

You're not the first, and I'd bet money you won't be the last.
And you would win the bet with low profits!

I've been running ARHD 5.1.7 and its been stable OK.
Been trying to upgrade to 5.2.2 but for some reason it either gets stuck at the boot screen or else manages to get pass then but then will hang the moment I try to do anything.
Followed instructions to use Super Wipe per the ARHD pg. And also tried to factory reset first before installing. Same result.
Can anyone help me please? Seems to work for everyone else.
Thank you.

Did u check the md5 sum and make sure ur download is good first? I assume that u r rooted correctly right? Make sure u r not trying to flash it through cwm. And make sure ur battery isn't low or keep it plugged in on charge only
U r not rebooting after super wipe r u? As soon as wipe is done it tells u to install Rom
Md5 checked when downloading the file. Matched.
Should be rooted correctly since i've been been upgrading the ARHD a few version till i got to 5.1.7.
I used recovery and selected installed the zip from SD card --that is correct? not flashing it thru cwm like u said i should not be doing right?
I have tried with reboot and not rebooting after super wipe. Same result.
Any other possiblity?
Thanks.

hahaha if anything i'm persistent. I actually redownloaded. I tried with the 5.2.0 before and had the same issue so thought maybe i'd have better luck with the 5.2.2
It seems that i'm having trouble getting to 5.2.x
maybe just wait for 5.2.3 but it seems that i'm having problems getting to teh 5.2.x version
Thank you Jess086

now i'm lost. my knowledge doesn't go that far. I'm using CWM recovery i think. and to get to 5.1.7 had to do the ext4...i THINK.
would you so kind as to explain in more detail the steps u've described? How to flash back the old one?
Thanks so much.

Don't worry about the old one. Get the new ext4 recovery out of the dev. Section. Will be one of the top threads. Flash it. Then boot to recovery and go to where it says wipe and wipe the catch, dev catch, and the factory wipe u already did. Then flash the wipe download for ext4 when its done it will say u can now flash the arhd Rom so go to install fro SD card and fond Rom zip and flash it then reboot. U will be good hopefully. Keep me posted
Do you mean this one? Is it different from the Super Wipe from the ARHD pg?
ClockWorkMod 2 & 3 - ( Edify Script )
FULL_WIPE_1.5_EXT4_
This patch can be applied prior to flashing the ROM, please note, this zip will wipe your device and format all partitions to EXT4.
jess086. i finally got enought posts to post in the aRHD thread and the solution it to flash the 1ghz patch after flashing the ROM and that seems to have done the job.
Thank you.

k first rom i tried AOSP 4.0.3ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT-TORO BUILD8 so i wiped data factory reset and cache n dalvik and flashed the rom, it looks like it starts to flash but aborts with the message above, then i restored my nan backup rebooted and went back to cwm to reflash the second time around i only wipe data factory reset cuz thats what the op says to do on his thread so i only wipe data factory n flash the rom still same error, so i went to try another rom GUMMYNEX 0.2.3 and i did the same process with both im following the steps their stating in the op in have cwm
From what the error sounds like is that it doesn't think you have the correct device. You have a CDMA phone and not a GSM?

i think i might know what the problem is my cwm says 5.5.0.2 and im looking here at somebody posted in the development section for a cdma cwm and it says 5.5.0.4 could that be the problem? if so how do i redo my recovery, follow the same steps i did my first one, i downloaded and extracted the files to my c drive and opened cmd and typed the commands, can i do that again while having already cwm to flash the new cwm on top of the old one? if thats the problem

Try rebooting recovery. Then your normal wipe and flash process.

I pulled out the battery and tried it again but it is still not working. Is there any way to connect my phone to a computer with no ROM so that I can attempt another ROM? I have tried but cant figure out how to access the files

I got my Nexus 7 (2nd Gen 2013) in the mail the 2nd day it came out from Futureshop and I loved it! I think its the best tablet in the world! :good: Since all of my other Android Devices are rooted, I decided that it is a must to have a custom rom and root on my Nexus 7. So today, I rooted it and all went well, but when I wanted to download the Custom ROM Paranoid Android, it downloaded, it booted up, but then when it asked to select my language, I selected English then all of a sudden, it said "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." :crying: :crying: I was so scared then I tried again and again but nothing worked. So I never made a backup when I was supposed to. I was too excited that I FORGOT. Then I booted into Recovery Mode and wiped and went to factory settings. But when I rebooted, it wouldnt reboot into anything! :crying: :crying: All it did was show a black screen. I was scared! I tried everything! But luckily, I can still boot into recovery mode and fastboot! PLEASE HELP ME! :crying: :crying: I WANT TO USE MY NEXUS 7 SO BADLY!!

Did you factory reset, wipe system & cache before installing the ROM?
If the ROM file is still in your tablet storage then perform the 3 wipes. After that flash the ROM.

It's nothing to panic about. The factory image package was recently released so you can use that to return to stock with Fastboot if you want.

If you got no backup, then the only thing left is flash factory image. Root it up normally and do a backup. After that flash the ROM.
