More info please. When did you install, over clocked, under clocked, any tweaks or custom scripts installed? Does it work in recovery? More info please.

yah, he's always a bit short on info (but opens 3 threads per issue therefore). Don't know if that's not already been solved (but I guess he won't let us know either ) oops I guess I haven't been asked

Alltel HTC Desire USB bricked and not rooted! HELP!

So a brother of mine is getting rid of his HTC Desire and giving it to me. Here's what's wrong.
It's an Alltel HTC Desire but he has a US Cellular ROM on it. From the looks of it I don't think it's rooted. If I plug it in through usb the phone charges fine but it will not do anything else. That would mean it's usb bricked right?
I really don't know what to do from here. I've been rooting and putting roms on phones since my HTC Touch Pro years ago, but this situation is kinda scary. Please help! :'(
EDIT: And yes I did do some searching, but I'm worried the non-stock ROM will mess this up.....
Can u get into recovery by pressing volume down and power and then click on recovery what happen.s then

No no no that's temp recovery,scratch is telling you to update your phones recovery. The recovery you go to when holding power and volume down.
regards,slymobi
Rom manager only gives you a temporary recovery, your main recovery will probably be an older version with the offmode charging bug.

Download this and move it to the root of your SD card (not in any folders) then power off, press volume down and power button to enter hboot and wait for it to load, press up to flash the recovery image then reboot, either delete the zip after or rename it to something else otherwise everytime you enter hboot it'll try to flash it.

Thanks and best regards,

You don't flash it in recovery, just make sure its called PC49IMG.zip and reboot into hboot.

Phone Issues - Please help

Hi there, I have a HTC Desire GSM, Currently running elk CM10, 4EXT Recovery, Stock HBoot, The problem is with every Sense rom that I have tried it freezes and locks up after a matter of minutes , Then it wont let me boot , This is the same for all sense Roms on XDA, Every AOSP rom works fine. I know it sounds strange but ive only had these freezing issues since I changed my Sim Card to GiffGaff. Any Help would be greatly appreciated as I love the Sense UI and would love to use it.
Never mind it was the sd card causing the issues.

Is there any way to boost the battery performance of htc desire, it just last only for 6 hrs, pls some one say any best way for it.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
What rom are you using? Aosp roms have the best battery lives. Try the one I'm using. It lasts 2 days at normal use, and it's as smooth as an s3.

First of all, thank you for your patience.
I do the following:
1. wipe all but sd-card;
2. format all but sd-card;
3. fix permissions;
4. sometimes I format sd-card using the following settings;
a. ext4
b. sd-ext 1 Gb
c. swap 1 Gb
d. sdcard 12 Gb
5. file system check
6. choose zip
7. install
Here is the point where, after analyzing the package, the phone displays “Status 7” error and aborts installation.

If you are running older than vista which it looks like you are from your shot.
You need to get drivers for MTP in order to be able to access your storage
