I have been able to successfully sync my phone with my computer through the "Kies via wifi" option.
However, now some sort of "kies via wifi" app keeps opening on my phone and running in the background. Application manager shows the "AutoConnService" running, and the two processes are:
Kies via wifi: com.sec.android.app.kieswifi
AllShare Service: com.sec.android.allshare.framework.
Anyone know how I can stop it from running all the time?
Thanks!
Fixed, I think
Update: in the 'Kies Via Wifi" settings on the phone there is an 'auto-connect' option which I did not see earlier (Settings->More Settings->Kies via Wi-fi, then press menu button->settings). Turning the option off seems to fix this issue.

I've searched several threads, but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Both devices definitely 100% rooted with superuser working fine, permissions granted for all apps.
I installed wifi_tether_v3_1-beta14.apk on the phone.
Device Profile: Evo 4G
Setup-Method: Initially I tried Softap (master). That's the same as infrastructure mode, correct?
Default SSID (AndroidTether)
MSS Clamping checked
Routing Fix checked
If I attempt to run it with these settings, I get a popup informing me the wifi hotspot started, but with errors. The log just says most of the wifi steps failed, I can post details if needed. I don't think it's really running - no upload/download indicator showing at the bottom of the app. My PC can't see the hotspot.
If I switch Setup-Method to Ad-hoc, it runs fine, no errors, PC can see it and connect to it. But KF can't connect to Ad-hoc... so lame.
So, I got ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher.apk for the kindle fire, to switch it to ad-hoc mode. Went to settings, told it to connect to AndroidTether. Switched to Ad-Hoc mode. It says "attempting to connect" ... after a minute it gives up and keeps retrying. The hotspot shows in the list of wifi networks, but it's hanging at "Obtaining IP address".
So, what's the issue? Infrastructure mode not working? Need to flash a custom rom? I read something about maybe needing a non-stock kernel? Upgrade or downgrade my radio?
I finally found a method that works, barely.
Wifi Tether (app listed above) failed.
Adhoc Switcher failed.
Wifi Hotspot Widget failed.
Elixir2's hotspot widget failed (connected but no surf).
The one that worked is free and doesn't even need root apparently: Foxfi.
I say it "barely" worked because even this has issues.
When I tried to create a password, it wouldn't connect.
But if I leave the password blank (no password) it does work.
http://foxfi.com/bin/
I just told it to start running, and left the SSID at the default (FoxFi98 I believe).
I have been able to side-load before no problem. used one-drive and es file explorer to download and install apps no problem. Recently though, I am unable to do so. After the last update I guess it turned debugging mode off. I turned it back on and restarted FTV but am still getting an error message that reads something like" cannot install apps from unknown source, go to settings..." or whatever it says. But when I go to settings...debugging mode is on??? Anyone else have trouble?
How to Enable installations from "Unknown Sources":

A couple hours ago, the AFTV wouldn't play any Prime video and would just hang on the Netflix screen with the loading icon. Fairly certain it was on 51.1.1.0_user_511070220. Definitely 51.1.1.0. This was rooted with updates turned off using the adbFire app and a few Amazon URLs blocked in my router's access restrictions. After rebooting the AFTV a couple times, I read that a lot of solutions online were to delete the Prime/Netflix apps' data/cache. That didn't fix it. So then I followed the next common step and deauthorized the account. This is where the AFTV starting going crazy. After putting the user/pass back in, it started very quickly flashing between the "Authorizing Your Device" screen and the "Could not connect screen." A lot of button mashing broke the loop but every time I entered the user/pass, the loop would begin again. Hard and soft rebooting had no effect. Turning off the router (running AdvancedTomato) access restriction didn't help. I even used adbFire to very temporarily re-enable updates. Still no access.
I figured that this was a sign I should protect my root better. It may have been a mistake, but I decided to try and install Clockwork recovery. I left the "pm disable com.amazon.dcp" from adbFire enabled. So Amazon updates were still blocked. I downgraded to 51.1.0.2_user_510058520 kinda not realizing that this would kill my root and maybe also not realizing that Clockwork would need root to install.
I now have the same exact problem as before. I am stuck on the registration page and cannot sign in. It either says that the "sign in failed" or that the "connection was lost." At least on this earlier firmware, it doesn't seem to get stuck on the flashing loop between those two screens. There is some new weirdness where it seems to be pressing buttons on its own somehow. The text entry menu will disappear as if I closed it. And then when I select it again, it's in a broken format with all the keyboard buttons there, but the input field names missing.
I have verified that the current firmware is 51.1.0.2_user_510058520 with "grep fingerprint /system/build.prop".
I am 99% sure that nothing else from amazon is blocked besides "pm disable com.amazon.dcp", which I'm now unable to turn on again as I don't have root. adbFire says that "Amazon updates are off". I thought that this was reset by a downgrade? I can't think of anything else to check. I used to use dnsmasq to block three Amazon URLs before I found AdvancedTomato's Access Restriction but dnsmasq is empty and the rule in Access Restriction is deleted.
I am 99% sure I never edited my AFTV's hosts file. I just did "adb pull /system/etc/hosts" and all it has in it is "127.0.0.1 localhost".
Is there anything else I should check?
Just tried it again this morning. After every "sign in failed," if I let it sit on the failed screen with the keyboard where it wants me to enter user/pass again and touch nothing for 5-10 seconds, it will suddenly close that keyboard pop up and then immediately reopen it -- except it will be broken in that it's missing all the labels for fields like "Enter email here".
?
If you have Amazon.dcp disabled then remove all the blocked sites from the router and boot it up and see if you get connected. Maybe a site you have blocked is the issue

I don't know where the router block could be. The rule in Access Restrictions is deleted and the Dnsmasq field is empty. I'm going to try using a cell phone hot spot to register it. Probably won't change anything but I can at least rule out the router as a problem.
Hello to all!
I am recently facing a problem with google play. When i am opening the app it says server error and i cannnot do anything. I found many solutions which theynwere suggesting to clear cache, clear data, force stop, uninstall updates and restarting the phone. I did all of them. Nothing worked. As soon as i ooen google play it says server error and it opens the menu. I touch retry nothing happens.
My lg g4 is in stock rom and not rooted. Any solutions?
Thanks for your time.
How are you connected to the internet? Check your home network's firewall. Try connecting via mobile network.
Have searched the forum without luck. I'm running latest purenexus/elementalx w/afwall+ and xprivacy (basically same setup as I had on 5.1.1), but ever since marshmallow android reports that wlan isn't connected (although it is after I made a connection manually). So if I toggle wifi it won't connect automatically (it will only when I turn off the screen). Any ideas are appreciated, thanks!

(Had to grant internet access to the system in afwall+ once)
