Sound effects in Xperia Arc S - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

All,
When i had the stock ROM GB or ICS on my Xperia Arc S, the sound quality in the default music app was amazing..very clear Bass and a crip sound. However after unlocking the boot loader, rooting and flashing a custom ROM ( Ice cream pureness \ Acronium) the quality of the sound is just crappy. No bass effect at all. Even after installing the Incredible Bass Mod also the sound quality is not increased. Please help me if there are any ways to correct this. Or should i re lock the bootloader and go back to my Stock ROM.

U Should Reflash Rom Again ie.. Arconium. Rom & Then Flash Beats Audio Mod Latest Version & Flash Walkman Port With Beats By ThilinaC. For Ics...
& also u can use Good Headphones ..
Dont use the Stock one. .

Try TEAM rom And if you want the xperia s look try Dixperia rom.

U should get something that improves performance. Maybe,... was the rom called cola from hogwarts? I'm not sure but its okay. If u want the ics look get gbtweaked.

Try DiXperia Monster with DoomKernel v11 it's stock based but gives you a fresh feel of Xperia S or NXT series. But only problem is with the 2G/3G data but I mostly use WiFi so I can deal with it until official ICS release.

[Q] Good ROMs for LOCKED Bootloader ?

What good ROMs I can install on my Xperia Arc LT15i if I have locked bootloader ?
My suggestion- Sparta Charge.
Other good ROMs for locked BL - Jelly Sandwich, Ultimate HD, Pureness, JJ Hybrid, Omega [ICS]
If you like heavy games try Gingerbread ROM X-Gamer.
Hi,
You can install Ultimate HD v2.0 by Jader :good: you must specify in AROMA if locked or unlocked bootloader

Yeah he mustnt its just for CWM so rom should work fine even on arc... Previous version was to big so i stripped and now it should work on arc as well as ray neo etc with just 300MB /system, but this Selection is for CWM, via xParts

[Q] disadvantages of updating xperia arc s to ICS

hey guyz,
i am using sony ericsson xperia arc s (LT18i). current OS android gingerbread 2.3.4. when i connected to pc companion it showed an update. but i heard that ICS is not suitable for xperia arc s. there are some prb with updating arc s to ICS. i mean after updating arc s to ICS there occurs some bugs related or other problem after updating xperia arc s. so can anyone tell me in details. lyk wat are the disadvantages of updating arc s to ICS.
thank u.....
Well stock ICS is pretty bad and laggy so you can look for custom roms like CM... Sony didn't make a very good ICS update even though they released it early. I recommend custom roms However if you want to keep your BL locked, there are roms that are for you too just search and you shall find

I'm assuming your phone's bootloader is locked (which is normal), so here's 2 roms that are pretty popular, based on ics, and makes your phone run like dual core
Jelly Sandwhich
Xperia Ultimate HD

Don't listen to these helmets bad advice stock 587 is great. Stay clear of supercharger it will cause a tonne of lag on ics.

I don't know how you use your phone or what you do to it but for me CM is soooo much better than any version of stock ROM especially since it's based on JB

I agree with lofty, the stock ICS .587 is working great. Very stable and everything works 100%. My own experience with custom roms and super duper extremely fast scripts is also that they create more problems and makes your phone unstable or cause other unexepected behaviors.
It is an "old" phone with single core and no super scripts or custom roms will make up for the single core and low memory. And yet it is my preffered phone on .587 even compared to my wifes experia S.
I have no issues with the stock rom. I updated andreo libs (gpu drivers)
Now the rom is even more faster

It is not as smooth as GB for me. Fairly laggier, do you guys agree?
+1, had been using stock Ics and custom roms for sometime then back to arconium gb. It's still the best rom for my arc S.
I'm using 587 fw on my Neo and is running very smooth ( almost like GB) but it is almost unusable for hard games. But i'm not using it for gaming, i'm using it more for media, and with the latest apps from Xperia T, is awesome. So if you want to use it more for gaming, stay with Gingerbread, otherwise upgrade to ICS because IMO is way better than Gingerbread. BTW, i've tried almost every custom rom, and always i've returned to stock, because it's simply the best.

Stock ICS .587 is excellent. There are a lot more features in it than in GB, I didn't notice any speed difference between GB and ICS other than the Google voice search and Recent apps (hold menu button) take a bit longer to start up the first time (they are quick after that).
I would recommend rooting ICS using this guide: http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/41119?start=0&tstart=0
Rooting will allow you to run an app from the Play Store which can uninstall those pesky bloatware apps.
And if you suppercharge ICS it's even better - even if you only supercharge 50%!!!!
Supercharger V6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
Cheers.
Enjoy the update!

It's laggy thanks to bloatware and not being fully optimized. Custom ROMs and/or tweaking at your own will remove lag problem!

Hmm not really. Maybe in some games... Just root, de-bloatware, update adreno libs and install supremacy script, and the GB smoothness is there

[Q] [PRO] Which rom and kernel do you recommend ?

I want to install a ROM which has the best customization options of the UI and a kernel which has the best performance.
Currently I'm on Xperia Ultimate HD rom with Ultima ICS kernel.
Was that the best choice ?

Does anyone know if it's possible to have the Stock Sony ICS and have the GB wifi module flashed to it? I'm asking because when I updated my mk16a I lost the Access Point functionality and it is very important for me to have it. I really love ICS but I had to go back to GB because of this issue. Thanks in adavnce!
in fact, is the kernel for arc /s work on xperia pro?
