Wifi drops - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I'm running Calkulins E4GT 2 1.6. I've noticed a behavior where the wifi goes to sleep and on order to reconnect i have to turn it off and then back on to find wifi networks again. Any way to stop or fix this?

It's a known issue. Supposedly this does not happen on FF11 kernel. I will report back tomorrow to confirm.

at first I had a problem with Wi-Fi turning on whenever. that was fixed by disabling connections optimizer. but now gps is doing it and the optimizer is still off

do you have Lookout Mobile installed with Signal Flare enabled. Whenever your battery is low, the feature will activate the gps so the "last known" coordinates can be recorded in case you cant find it
I do not have lookout or any other app that to my knowledge would do that.
even if that was the case I haven't seen 40% battery since I've had the phone because I'm still so used to charging the phone daily

WiFi tethering disconnects when phone sleeps

Has there been a fix about using WiFi tethering and phone disconnects when it sleeps? This has been a problem since ICS update. I haven't seen a solution, so if one is out there, I would appreciate the feedback.

Go to settings> wireless> wifi settings and press menu button. Open advanced settings , there u ll find Wifi sleep policy. Choose "never"
I had it on "always", changed it per your instructions. Will see if this works. Will change back when using WiFi, at my friends residence.

Doesn't work, still disconnects. It has nothing to do with the Mobile on WiFi, but when using the Mobile as a WiFi modem to use pc to get a broadband connection.

WiFi tether disconnect

I was wondering how I can fix the issue with the WiFi tether app for root where it disconnects after a few minutes. It is never a constant connection. I want to say after about 30 minutes it disconnects.

that and isnt there a wifi sleep timer?
Make sure you disable the Sprint Connections Optimizer. This causes the phone to reactivate the wifi from time to time and disconnect your tether.

agree with the above. Also, you may want to try switching reload drivers. I find I have the best results with reload driver 2.

no problem. It took me a few minutes to find it too the other day. Not my first guest where to find it.

Try restoring with Odin to stock unrooted or flash a ROM to see if that works it might be some corrupt files or your WiFi radio just decided to go bad
