ConnectBot (SSH / Telnet client)

TeamViewer
TitaniumBackup
Unrar
XBMC Remote
Games:
Air Control (Lite)
Angry Birds (and holiday version)
Buka HD
Chuck Norris Facts
Dungeon Defenders top pick!
Evac HD
Moron Test (weird screen sizing in menu, but the game is good)
Radiant HD
Raging Thunder (and v2) (not very good resolution)
Spaghetti and Marshmallows
Speedx 3D
Totemo HD
Unless otherwise noted, the games above are all HD quality and look really good on a 10.1" screen.
90 degree tilt control bug
I'm tested a lot of games and the tilt control 90 turned so you have turn the Adam 90 degree
I hope will be corrected soon.
Revision3 player also doesn't works because video delayed a lot
I'll preparing a list from the working aps soon.
All very nice apps, most of which I have on my phone.
Did however buy Repligo PDF reader especially for the Adam.
Very quick to load, render and search PDFs. Will also keep track of where you were in which doc (like an ereader).
Most importantly you can annotate the PDFs.
Will let you guys know how it works on Adam when I get mine in March.

Just what the title says, what killer apps have you discovered for WP7? I just got an HTC Surround as an insurance replacement for a dead Tilt 2 yesterday. I'm still discovering things but after spending a couple of hours digging through the marketplace I have to admit that I am somewhat disappointed with some of the app selection. So I figured why not come to the experts.
I'm mostly looking for apps available for retail phones but if there is one that has to be sideloaded that you think is worth it then by all means list it.
So far I've got:
Mango - this goes without saying and obviously will require some hacking for moment but it's worth listing.
Zune Pass - Windows Phone's ace in the hole over iPhone. Unlimited access to millions of tracks for $15/mo. Add in the SmartDJ functionality from Mango and it is a real killer app.
Games geoDefense and Max & The Magic Marker . And many other games too )
My fave apps
All recipees
vevo
netflix
imdb
prime TV
sound enhancer (htc)
4th and major
engadget
usa today
wp central
words by post
amazon kindle
amazon
cocktail flow
lyrics
song tweeter
rowi
etc etc etc
wp7 os is your killer app
especially if u got mango..
bing maps, music, vision.. ever tried to copy/paste text from anywhere and everywhere?
office, xbox live, skydrive, internet explorer 9 with html5, Zune and what else..
well for marketplace apps:
htc connection setup
and if u can sideload:
Navigon
Today (for LG)
ScanSearch (for LG)
also check out the toplist in zune, what u see is what u get..
with mango we will get what you called killer apps..
we got some great games for now.. and a killer OS..
My fav apps so far:
Thumba Photo Editor: use it daily
MoBudget: best personal finance app but they never update or try to improvise it seems..
FX Rate Watcher: No1 app for currency traders till now..
Currency Tile: good live tile
New York Subway: best ny subway app
Calendar Calculator: innovative
Cocktail Flow: great app with many frequent free additions..
Notepad Plus: good
NewsLab: best news reader, they improved a lot, very frequent updates with active developer response to your problems and suggestions..
Ontrack!: okay app, no improvisation though ..
The following Apps I paid for and than uninstalled it because they were so pathetic, buggy and some just plain useless:
GPS Speedometer: useless, never works, ugly icon.
eWalletGo: pathetic, seems like they released this app just for the heck of it.
handyscan: pathetic, my direct camera pics are more clear than their scan.
My Budget: useless, just record your meaningless transaction, my bank does it too.. Mobudget is way better than this.
One shipping tracker app which was buggy, they are not listed in MP anymore and another NY subway app which was just an app with PDF files of subway map inside, they had no trial otherwise I would have never bought it..
Install the app called Top Developers. It will show you the apps for the best rated developers.
My fav apps are:
Beeez - for twitter
GoVoice - for Google Voice
CalorieCounter
Groupon
iheartradio
Slacker
TuneIn Radio
WalkMan7 (sideloaded)
TVShow (paid)
My fav games are:
The Harvest
Plants Versus Zombies
Twin Blades (won't work on Mango until they update it though)
CarneyVale
Earthworm Jim
Assassin's Creed
Hydro Thunder Go
Tentacles
Fruit Ninja
Angry Birds
Words By Post (free)
The main app to get is the Xda-Developers app. Every other app comes second.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
weave -- THE news reader. the single most used app on my phone.
freda -- ebook/txt reader, free. (chinese font version available as freda chinese)
rad now -- weather radar map
smart tile -- 4 lines of txt in one live tile, good for to do lists and reminders

I think MoBudget last update was around end of June and make the version to 2.17?
IMO, MoBudget really a killer apps for me in WP7, use it everyday~
wow - No mention of Wordament?
Best game I've ever played on any mobile platform, addictive as hell and it's free! No doubt will be copied by some unscrupulous iPhone games company very soon, but for now it's exclusive to WP7!
Also I like the game Tentacles, very innovative.
As for regular apps, I most regularly use Supertube (neat youtube app, allows downloading videos) and Bingle Maps (combines google and bing maps).

Yes they did, but most of their updates has been fixes and many minor changes.. very little new features.. i cant wait for their Live Tile feature and Graph charts which they have promised since May.. maybe they will bring it after Mango.. right now the app scene has all came to a halt waiting for MANGO it seems.. they should also make data input feature a bit easier, My Budget app had a smoother inputing transaction method, if mo budget could apply the same way it would be perfect for me..
Here is the list of games I like:
Plant Vs. Zombies: endless, ever changing gameplay.. good.
Assasins creed: endless, ever changing gameplay.. xcellent.
fruit ninja: surprisingly good, i thought it was for girls but loved it after i bought.
need for speed: enjoyed it!
zombies!!!: Thumbs up.
Rocket riot: Thumbs up.
Rise of glory: Thumbs up.
the harvest: good game but no replay value.
the sims: okay game.
I dig it: saving gameplay is a pain.. right now i am repeating whole level 2 again from beginning because i accidentally exited the game in end by hitting the bing search button.
UNO, Monopoly, parachute panic and fable coin golf: short game, regret buying but its okay to have in collection for a change..
The following games I hate and I wish I could get my money back:
ilomilo: very hard puzzles, unplayable for me, dont like it at all, dont enjoy playing it.
OMG: I want my money back, do not buy this stupid game.
Oregon's trail: what you see in Demo is what is repeated for next 4 hours, nothing new, if you played demo, you have played whole game.
Sonic: this game is unplayable, they cheat you by presenting surprisingly easy levels on demo, but once u buy it, u wont get past level 2, u wont even finish level 2, stupid controls, unplayable, do not buy, remove this game from MP for the better of others who might fall into this trap by sonic company.
All other games in Xbox WP7, i dont liked their demo so i didnt buy them, right now i am waiting for new games..

Totally agree for the mobudget and my budget parts, the others apps or game are nice too but too bad that marketplace is still not official in Malaysia... Thus can't comment well toward it.
Apps I use frequently:
Rowi
4th and Mayor
IMDB
eBAY
Games I play:
geoDefence
Angri Birds
I normally use:
wikipedia
ebay
beepz
Turn by turn
w7applist
Thanks, guys. I will check some of these out and send the link to a friend who recently got an HD7 and was asking for some good apps.

Me, People, and Picture Hub. The killer apps of WP7 (Mango), at least for me.
Apps:
Beezz (Twitter app with working live-tile)
Shopping List (nice and simple checklist-app)
Supertube
Accuweather (not that great but does the job, switching when marketplace goes live here in sweden)
Flight Info
tvmatchen.nu (shows what channels are showing various sports atm here in Sweden)
gMaps (Best Google maps app imo)
Navigation (TBT Navigation)
IMDB
Cocktail Flow
DC Comics
Last.fm will probably become a favourite after Mango is release and they can add last.fm-scrobbling from the native music player.
Games:
Tentacles !!!
geoDefense !!!
Rocket Riot !!
OMG
ByeByeBrain
Corona
Star Ninja
Name My Tune (plays music from your phone and you should guess the name of the song)
Penguin
Squid Squish
Pixelman
For me the "killer apps" - if you really want to call it that - are what is already built int, mostly the mail client and Office with the SharePoint connection. Apart from those I use the Amazon Kindle app and Boxfiles (Dropbox client) a lot.
The apps I would see as killer apps - if they were there - would be Lync client (should come with Mango) and Skype (will we see that, now that MS bought them?).
Hey guys. 7712 Mozart here.
Apps I use:
4th & Mayor
Rowi
Facebook/People's hub
Engadget (somehow 7712 messed it up)
LazyTube
Office
Turn by Turn Navi (can't buy full app yet Marketplace not launched here. on a different region)
Flickr Manager (lite)
gMaps
HTC Notes (comes in handy sometimes and animations are sweett)
HTC Photo Enhancer
Thumba Cam
Vevo
WP Central
Mail
Really hoping Microsoft would open up the Marketplace here. Would help loads. And that partnership with Nokia is gonna boost their rep if their marketing gets better. Can hardly find a decent casing here. Tempted to ship on in but Amazon doesn't ship here so meh :/
I realize this might be a tad touchy: Is there a good torrent app for WM7/7.5?
Many of the other forums have this as a Sticky so that members can post apps they find essential to their phone experience. Why don't we?
We need one thread here, as (i think) most of us came from iphone/android phones...and dont know muuch about WP apps....I would really appreciate if everyone can share their must have apps for our phone

AccuWeather (for in-app detailed forcasts and notifications)
Board Express for Tapatalk (board browser)
BoxFiles for DropBox (Dropbox support)
iLOL'd (decent humor sites)
Kids TV (OMG the kids love this!)
Pulse (news feed reader)
Weather Master (Live tile support)
Windows Phone News (amalgomates multiple mobile / WP7 RSS feeds)
These are there and worth mentioning, but not used nearly as much (YMMV):
4th and Mayor
Baconit (redit reader)
Facebook
Flashlight-X
Fly Delta
HealthVault
Historypin
ImageBoard Browser
IMDb
Nokia Drive
Nokia Maps
Reinstaller
Send Contact Info
SkyDrive

Oh Thanks, Perfect...I didnt even know about half of those apps and I have been searching from a week...I hope others will get benefited from it and will shares theirs too..
I use 7 Pass for passwords because I can use the Desktop KeePass to make up and change the file and transfer to the phone. I get the dropbox integration but I have a REAL problem putting my secret, sensitive info out on storage that could be anywhere in the world including countries with less strict privacy and copyright policies. People have already been blackmailed with their secret info that was stored on cloud storage.
Apps I use:
7 - Pass
Weather channel app with live tile support. What I like most about the live tile integration they use is that it flips to a radar image and the current conditions and its free.
Built in Music Player
Camera App from Nokia: Creative Studio. The Build in panoramic feature is REALLY NICE and seemless.
eBay app
GasBuddy
Netflix
ShopSavy
Tango (The one from marketplace NOT labeled Nokia as it uses LTE not just WiFi)
Board Express
Newegg app (New I just started using it)
I use Windows Phone News about 5 times a day. Doing so I have followed tips to new apps and games that I got for free in their opening trial runs. Many are a couple bucks to buy now, but I got them for free.
Send to WP7 (I use this everyday, allows you to send the webpage/file to you phone from your desktop, Chrome to Phone was its old name or name on android.)
SkyDrive (Connects you to your Skydrive account and the 26GB of storage it gives you)
ScoreMobile (All sports scores live and past)
YouTube Pro (Download/Upload/Store on/from phone HD videos from Youtube)
Lyrics (Great lyrics app)
8Tracks & Mixtapes (Community created music mixes, streaming, select)
TuneIn Radio(If a radio station streams, they probably have it.
WpFandora (Pandora Client, Beautiful design)
Translator (Bing, new update makes for a fun app Voice/Vision/Text input/output methods)
Thumba Photo Editor Best photo editing app I have used for windows phone)
Concerts (Find where your favorite band is playing next)
FastXDA (Read only app for XDA forums, but it is fast, real fast)
Image Map Plus (Shows where your pics were taken on a map.)
ARMED! (Fun game, probably best non Xbox live game, and really it should be.)
SpellShipTactics (Interactive game of chess'ish, don't just move pieces, but controll and upgrade them in space battles.)
Wordament (Boggle type word game, you vs the internet, you could be playing ~1,000 other people in a game that starts every 2.5 minutes, last 2 minutes)
I have gone from an HD7 to the HTC Radar, and now the Lumia 900. Here is what has earned their keep in my Windows Phones:
Communication & Security
Freetalk - is a Google voice client. I couldn't indulge in my multi-phone, multi-carrier, multi-phone number lifestyle without Gogle Voice.
Rowi - a very full-featured Twitter client.
Skype - it's official! Version 1.0 was released on Friday. The Lumia 900 is great for Skype with the front camera.
Skydrive- this should be on every Windows Phone by default. 16 gb memory limit got you down? No problem! Set all your photos to automatically upload to Skydrive. Move downloaded files on to Skydrive.
LastPass - Password manager, (like 7 Pass). THe program is free to use on your Windows and Mac desktop, but you have to subscribe ($25/year) to use the mobile clients (WP7, iPhone, Android). I like it because it will fill out all passwords for me, generate secure new passwords, and store other secure information (credit cards, software licences).
Photo & Entertainment
Creative Studio - another great Nokia freebie that handles basic picture editing tasks (crop, exposure, color, contrast) as well as some artistic filters you can apply.
Picasa Metro - a client for Google Picasa Photos web service. I can upload pics from the phone to my Picasa folders, and use my Picasa pictures for things like backgrounds on the phone.
Fandango - see what's playing in movie theaters near you and buy tickets.
Netflix - a must have if you are a subscriber.
Vevo - primary site for music videos.
BBC Radio Player - listen to live BBC broadcasts. I am a big fan of programs in BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC London, and BBC Scotland. This plugs me in to those progams and all the goings on in the UK.
Reading
Weave - a deluxe RSS newsreader. Even if you don't have feeds that you follow, Weave lets you just point to subjects in which you are interested and it pulls in the top feeds for that topic. For example if you check the topic "Windows Phone" you will get Engadget, WMPoweruser, WPCentral, and others. You can uncheck any specific feeds in which you are not interested. This eliminates the need for individual reader apps (CNN, USA Today, Engadget, etc.) and gives me a single place to read everything. At the other end of the scale, you can import your entire Google Reader subscription list.
XDA-Developers - duh!
XMarks - all my bookmarks from my desktop are here on the phone.
Amazon Kindle - all my books available here.
CNN, ESPN, USA Today, Engadget, WPCentral - these are all well designed news apps with live tile support.
Shopping
eBay - A must-have for e-bay buyers and sellers.
Amazon Mobile - great for impulse buying new gadgets you read about in Weave!
Misc
Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive - Hey fellow Windows Phone owners, we have great turn-by-turn directions for FREE from Nokia, so neener, neener, neener!
Evernote - I couldn't work without this multi-platform note taking / web clipping application. Whenever I find something on the web that I might need later I paste it into Evernote and add subject tags. That way I can pull it up any time in the future. There are versions for WP7, iPhone, Android, Nokia Symbian, Windows desktop and Mac. All information is kept in sync between all your devices.
Timer - it's just a timer, like you have on your stove or microwave. But I use it all the time for cooking and knowing when to take the clothes out of the wash.

I have used both scan apps. The thing I worry about with Bing is someone being shown to me because they paid bing to be at the top of the list (like google does).
I have used both and found that bing might be more complete on barcodes.

Not sure how to take that. Super Bowl ads that we see and sometimes love, go to the companies that pay for them. Nothing gets on the airwaves anymore with $$$.
Run Keeper - Been using this for over a year and still feel this is the best Run Tracker on the market. Track run, calories burn, miles ran, weight loss and seamless integration to the website for charts, graphs and facebook sharing
Interval Timer - Create workout, interval / crossfit training, etc.
or
XTREME Tabata - Simple timer to track your tabata workout. Slick interface
WpFandora - 3rd Party Pandora app. Great 3rd party app.
or
Slacker Radio
Wiztiles - although limited due to restrictions, you can create custom tiles and have certian links. You can put a backside pic and text of the type of link
Wikitude - augmented browser
White Noise - Great sound machine for sleep or relaxation. Not as good as Android version, but still nice. Needs some polishing though.
PhotoFunia - Fun app to alter pics, put a face on a hockey player, become an astronaut, billboard, etc. Always a cool app for altering pics.
Pageonce - track all your bills, credit card payments and due dates in one site. Great tool for the money spender and procrastinators
Latitude Auto Update - Background service app that updates your latitude location for people who have accounts and like for friends and family to keep in touch with their location
gMaps - a decent alternative to get google maps. I really just use it for the Latitude function to track my friends and family since everyone still is on Android.
Flixster - Movie app like Fandango
ConnectivityShortcut - simple shortcuts to your Wifi, Bluetooth, Cell Data, and Airplane Mode. Creates tiles for them.
AnTuTu Benchmark - Benchmark testing
Creative Studio by Nokia - simple app for pics. Some filters, crops etc. I just use it for the panoramic feature. Works pretty good.
Flashlight 7 - flashlight
Vimeo - Vimeo video app. How there's not one for YouTube is beyond me I'd like a dedicated app, not an app that links to the mobile site
Everything else has been pretty much mention

Once upon a time search engines showed you results based on relevance to your query. Now anyone with enough money can be put up higher on the list than what is relevant.
Thanks to all those who figured out how to make a buck off of my searches =/
A couple that haven't been mentioned yet:
Adobe Reader
Though not essential, if you receive PDF files on your email and want to open them, you will need it.
Baconit
Mentioned before, but deserves way more recognition. Incredible and smooth experience to browse reddit. Highly recommend it.
Diagnostics
Not an app from the Marketplace, but very handy to have. Dial ##634# on your phone keypad and it will automatically download it. This app allows you to run a plethora of diagnostic tools on your phone, including screen color tests, vibration tests, camera flash test (eliminates the use of apps like Flashlight-X), battery status tests, and so on.
Flixster
A good alternative to the IMDB app. Has issues with using GPS though.
Whatsapp
Everyone knows this one. Cross-platform IM app. Uses data. Push notifications work fine, but alerts are not app specific, so if you have vibrate and/or ring enabled, you will receive an alert EVERY time someone messages you (can be a problem when having group chats). Push can be turned off within the app, but it sort of defeats the purpose if you won't know who messaged you until you open the app.
Wikipanda
Best Wikipedia app I've tried. Clean and stable.
InstantReddit
FailBlog
Flashlight XT (no ads)
UC (web browser)
WolframAlpha
Youtube Pro
Thats it? no more apps?
Any free app for google talk(voice and video) ?? I did not find any...
Anybody know if there are any HDR camera apps on the marketplace? I haven't been able to find one

Though I only had this tablet for 3 days do to me really disliking it, here is the list of the apps that I use and like.
Lancher; Smart Launcher Pro
Browser; Maxthon, Google Chrome
FileManager; ES File Explorer (this is a must have program, you can access all of your cloud, network, local, FTP and SD Card storage in one place, just awesome)
CloudStorage; your tablet comes with 50GB of DropBox but I would defiantly also use the 15GB of free Google Drive and OneDrive from Microsoft. The latter is fantastic)
News; FlipBoard(a must have), Google Newsstand, Appy Geek, CNN Tablet, News 360 Tablet
Video; VLC and the built in video player is all you'll ever need
Music; I use Spotify, love it but others like Pandora are also good
Torrent; Vuze, Utorrent Pro
Shopping; Amazon, eBay, Best Buy(even if you don't buy from them it's still a good app to see what the prices for things are and if especially if a certain new product is even being offered yet)
Social Media; Pinterest(this is a fantastic app and like Flipboard is a must have) and of course the usual suspects like Facebook and Twitter if you use those services, I prefer Google+
Information; Google Search, Wikipedia Tablet, Wikitionary
EBook; Aldiko Premium, Google PlayBook (I use this app the most because I can store all of my eBook on Google Drive and this app can sync with them easily)
Torrents; Vuze (this is a very nice app), uTorrent Pro
Office; QuickOffice, Kingsoft Office (very nice interface but again I use QuickOffice for the same reason I use PlayBook, it's a Google Service and I can sync my docs with ease)
Music; I'm done buying music, I use Spotify and it fits my needs wonderfully
Notes; OneNote, EverNote and SpringPad all fantastic and worth an install, I use OneNote the most because I have a Nokia 1020 phone and a Nokia 2520 for work, I scan all of my documents using Office Lens then sync with OneNote.
Chat & Video Conferencing; Viber (use this the most), Skype, Facebook Messenger and of course Google Hangouts
Photo Editing; Pixlr Express, Photo Editor (this is a fantastic program but it ran like molasses on mm Tab 3, there has been update that supposedly fixes some performance issues with the Intel but don't hold your breath, Fotor (also a great program for your phone), anything by Aviary is also good.
Wallpapers; Premium Wallpapers HD (the best wallpaper program for tablets as every wallpaper scales to portrait and landscape perfectly though the quality of some of the Photos could be better, on the crappy 1280 x 800 rez all should be fine, I was commenting about when using an ultra high rez like with the Nexus 10

Well that's it for me, it would be a good idea to search for Android Tablet Apps in Pinterest, that's where I find a lot of great stuff to install.

Miscellaneous; 500PX, IMDB, Flikr, Photobucket

Got it for the OCR apps, the EasyTether is nice too (has Linux support even).
What they want:
1) Sign up for an Amazon account if you haven't
2) Download and install the Amazon AppStore (I made sure to do this over https. Might be possible to do this part in an Android simulator or something) and login with your Amazon account
3) Click get app once, enter in a street address (something about one-click buying), then click 'get app' 18 times for each app
I did all but the app store install and login on my laptop since it seemed faster.
Pretty straightforward. I'd feel more comfortable if I had the Xposed Privacy stuff set up. :-/
But overall a very nice haul.
