Though I only had this tablet for 3 days do to me really disliking it, here is the list of the apps that I use and like.
Lancher; Smart Launcher Pro
Browser; Maxthon, Google Chrome
FileManager; ES File Explorer (this is a must have program, you can access all of your cloud, network, local, FTP and SD Card storage in one place, just awesome)
CloudStorage; your tablet comes with 50GB of DropBox but I would defiantly also use the 15GB of free Google Drive and OneDrive from Microsoft. The latter is fantastic)
News; FlipBoard(a must have), Google Newsstand, Appy Geek, CNN Tablet, News 360 Tablet
Video; VLC and the built in video player is all you'll ever need
Music; I use Spotify, love it but others like Pandora are also good
Torrent; Vuze, Utorrent Pro
Shopping; Amazon, eBay, Best Buy(even if you don't buy from them it's still a good app to see what the prices for things are and if especially if a certain new product is even being offered yet)
Social Media; Pinterest(this is a fantastic app and like Flipboard is a must have) and of course the usual suspects like Facebook and Twitter if you use those services, I prefer Google+
Information; Google Search, Wikipedia Tablet, Wikitionary
EBook; Aldiko Premium, Google PlayBook (I use this app the most because I can store all of my eBook on Google Drive and this app can sync with them easily)
Torrents; Vuze (this is a very nice app), uTorrent Pro
Office; QuickOffice, Kingsoft Office (very nice interface but again I use QuickOffice for the same reason I use PlayBook, it's a Google Service and I can sync my docs with ease)
Music; I'm done buying music, I use Spotify and it fits my needs wonderfully
Notes; OneNote, EverNote and SpringPad all fantastic and worth an install, I use OneNote the most because I have a Nokia 1020 phone and a Nokia 2520 for work, I scan all of my documents using Office Lens then sync with OneNote.
Chat & Video Conferencing; Viber (use this the most), Skype, Facebook Messenger and of course Google Hangouts
Photo Editing; Pixlr Express, Photo Editor (this is a fantastic program but it ran like molasses on mm Tab 3, there has been update that supposedly fixes some performance issues with the Intel but don't hold your breath, Fotor (also a great program for your phone), anything by Aviary is also good.
Wallpapers; Premium Wallpapers HD (the best wallpaper program for tablets as every wallpaper scales to portrait and landscape perfectly though the quality of some of the Photos could be better, on the crappy 1280 x 800 rez all should be fine, I was commenting about when using an ultra high rez like with the Nexus 10
Miscellaneous; 500PX, IMDB, Flikr, Photobucket
Well that's it for me, it would be a good idea to search for Android Tablet Apps in Pinterest, that's where I find a lot of great stuff to install.

Must-have apps for Lumia 900/WP7

Many of the other forums have this as a Sticky so that members can post apps they find essential to their phone experience. Why don't we?
We need one thread here, as (i think) most of us came from iphone/android phones...and dont know muuch about WP apps....I would really appreciate if everyone can share their must have apps for our phone

AccuWeather (for in-app detailed forcasts and notifications)
Board Express for Tapatalk (board browser)
BoxFiles for DropBox (Dropbox support)
iLOL'd (decent humor sites)
Kids TV (OMG the kids love this!)
Pulse (news feed reader)
Weather Master (Live tile support)
Windows Phone News (amalgomates multiple mobile / WP7 RSS feeds)
These are there and worth mentioning, but not used nearly as much (YMMV):
4th and Mayor
Baconit (redit reader)
Facebook
Flashlight-X
Fly Delta
HealthVault
Historypin
ImageBoard Browser
IMDb
Nokia Drive
Nokia Maps
Reinstaller
Send Contact Info
SkyDrive

Oh Thanks, Perfect...I didnt even know about half of those apps and I have been searching from a week...I hope others will get benefited from it and will shares theirs too..
I use 7 Pass for passwords because I can use the Desktop KeePass to make up and change the file and transfer to the phone. I get the dropbox integration but I have a REAL problem putting my secret, sensitive info out on storage that could be anywhere in the world including countries with less strict privacy and copyright policies. People have already been blackmailed with their secret info that was stored on cloud storage.
Apps I use:
7 - Pass
Weather channel app with live tile support. What I like most about the live tile integration they use is that it flips to a radar image and the current conditions and its free.
Built in Music Player
Camera App from Nokia: Creative Studio. The Build in panoramic feature is REALLY NICE and seemless.
eBay app
GasBuddy
Netflix
ShopSavy
Tango (The one from marketplace NOT labeled Nokia as it uses LTE not just WiFi)
Board Express
Newegg app (New I just started using it)
I use Windows Phone News about 5 times a day. Doing so I have followed tips to new apps and games that I got for free in their opening trial runs. Many are a couple bucks to buy now, but I got them for free.
Send to WP7 (I use this everyday, allows you to send the webpage/file to you phone from your desktop, Chrome to Phone was its old name or name on android.)
SkyDrive (Connects you to your Skydrive account and the 26GB of storage it gives you)
ScoreMobile (All sports scores live and past)
YouTube Pro (Download/Upload/Store on/from phone HD videos from Youtube)
Lyrics (Great lyrics app)
8Tracks & Mixtapes (Community created music mixes, streaming, select)
TuneIn Radio(If a radio station streams, they probably have it.
WpFandora (Pandora Client, Beautiful design)
Translator (Bing, new update makes for a fun app Voice/Vision/Text input/output methods)
Thumba Photo Editor Best photo editing app I have used for windows phone)
Concerts (Find where your favorite band is playing next)
FastXDA (Read only app for XDA forums, but it is fast, real fast)
Image Map Plus (Shows where your pics were taken on a map.)
ARMED! (Fun game, probably best non Xbox live game, and really it should be.)
SpellShipTactics (Interactive game of chess'ish, don't just move pieces, but controll and upgrade them in space battles.)
Wordament (Boggle type word game, you vs the internet, you could be playing ~1,000 other people in a game that starts every 2.5 minutes, last 2 minutes)
I have gone from an HD7 to the HTC Radar, and now the Lumia 900. Here is what has earned their keep in my Windows Phones:
Communication & Security
Freetalk - is a Google voice client. I couldn't indulge in my multi-phone, multi-carrier, multi-phone number lifestyle without Gogle Voice.
Rowi - a very full-featured Twitter client.
Skype - it's official! Version 1.0 was released on Friday. The Lumia 900 is great for Skype with the front camera.
Skydrive- this should be on every Windows Phone by default. 16 gb memory limit got you down? No problem! Set all your photos to automatically upload to Skydrive. Move downloaded files on to Skydrive.
LastPass - Password manager, (like 7 Pass). THe program is free to use on your Windows and Mac desktop, but you have to subscribe ($25/year) to use the mobile clients (WP7, iPhone, Android). I like it because it will fill out all passwords for me, generate secure new passwords, and store other secure information (credit cards, software licences).
Photo & Entertainment
Creative Studio - another great Nokia freebie that handles basic picture editing tasks (crop, exposure, color, contrast) as well as some artistic filters you can apply.
Picasa Metro - a client for Google Picasa Photos web service. I can upload pics from the phone to my Picasa folders, and use my Picasa pictures for things like backgrounds on the phone.
Fandango - see what's playing in movie theaters near you and buy tickets.
Netflix - a must have if you are a subscriber.
Vevo - primary site for music videos.
BBC Radio Player - listen to live BBC broadcasts. I am a big fan of programs in BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC London, and BBC Scotland. This plugs me in to those progams and all the goings on in the UK.
Reading
Weave - a deluxe RSS newsreader. Even if you don't have feeds that you follow, Weave lets you just point to subjects in which you are interested and it pulls in the top feeds for that topic. For example if you check the topic "Windows Phone" you will get Engadget, WMPoweruser, WPCentral, and others. You can uncheck any specific feeds in which you are not interested. This eliminates the need for individual reader apps (CNN, USA Today, Engadget, etc.) and gives me a single place to read everything. At the other end of the scale, you can import your entire Google Reader subscription list.
XDA-Developers - duh!
XMarks - all my bookmarks from my desktop are here on the phone.
Amazon Kindle - all my books available here.
CNN, ESPN, USA Today, Engadget, WPCentral - these are all well designed news apps with live tile support.
Shopping
eBay - A must-have for e-bay buyers and sellers.
Amazon Mobile - great for impulse buying new gadgets you read about in Weave!
Misc
Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive - Hey fellow Windows Phone owners, we have great turn-by-turn directions for FREE from Nokia, so neener, neener, neener!
Evernote - I couldn't work without this multi-platform note taking / web clipping application. Whenever I find something on the web that I might need later I paste it into Evernote and add subject tags. That way I can pull it up any time in the future. There are versions for WP7, iPhone, Android, Nokia Symbian, Windows desktop and Mac. All information is kept in sync between all your devices.
Timer - it's just a timer, like you have on your stove or microwave. But I use it all the time for cooking and knowing when to take the clothes out of the wash.

I have used both scan apps. The thing I worry about with Bing is someone being shown to me because they paid bing to be at the top of the list (like google does).
I have used both and found that bing might be more complete on barcodes.

Not sure how to take that. Super Bowl ads that we see and sometimes love, go to the companies that pay for them. Nothing gets on the airwaves anymore with $$$.
Run Keeper - Been using this for over a year and still feel this is the best Run Tracker on the market. Track run, calories burn, miles ran, weight loss and seamless integration to the website for charts, graphs and facebook sharing
Interval Timer - Create workout, interval / crossfit training, etc.
or
XTREME Tabata - Simple timer to track your tabata workout. Slick interface
WpFandora - 3rd Party Pandora app. Great 3rd party app.
or
Slacker Radio
Wiztiles - although limited due to restrictions, you can create custom tiles and have certian links. You can put a backside pic and text of the type of link
Wikitude - augmented browser
White Noise - Great sound machine for sleep or relaxation. Not as good as Android version, but still nice. Needs some polishing though.
PhotoFunia - Fun app to alter pics, put a face on a hockey player, become an astronaut, billboard, etc. Always a cool app for altering pics.
Pageonce - track all your bills, credit card payments and due dates in one site. Great tool for the money spender and procrastinators
Latitude Auto Update - Background service app that updates your latitude location for people who have accounts and like for friends and family to keep in touch with their location
gMaps - a decent alternative to get google maps. I really just use it for the Latitude function to track my friends and family since everyone still is on Android.
Flixster - Movie app like Fandango
ConnectivityShortcut - simple shortcuts to your Wifi, Bluetooth, Cell Data, and Airplane Mode. Creates tiles for them.
AnTuTu Benchmark - Benchmark testing
Creative Studio by Nokia - simple app for pics. Some filters, crops etc. I just use it for the panoramic feature. Works pretty good.
Flashlight 7 - flashlight
Vimeo - Vimeo video app. How there's not one for YouTube is beyond me I'd like a dedicated app, not an app that links to the mobile site
Everything else has been pretty much mention

Once upon a time search engines showed you results based on relevance to your query. Now anyone with enough money can be put up higher on the list than what is relevant.
Thanks to all those who figured out how to make a buck off of my searches =/
A couple that haven't been mentioned yet:
Adobe Reader
Though not essential, if you receive PDF files on your email and want to open them, you will need it.
Baconit
Mentioned before, but deserves way more recognition. Incredible and smooth experience to browse reddit. Highly recommend it.
Diagnostics
Not an app from the Marketplace, but very handy to have. Dial ##634# on your phone keypad and it will automatically download it. This app allows you to run a plethora of diagnostic tools on your phone, including screen color tests, vibration tests, camera flash test (eliminates the use of apps like Flashlight-X), battery status tests, and so on.
Flixster
A good alternative to the IMDB app. Has issues with using GPS though.
Whatsapp
Everyone knows this one. Cross-platform IM app. Uses data. Push notifications work fine, but alerts are not app specific, so if you have vibrate and/or ring enabled, you will receive an alert EVERY time someone messages you (can be a problem when having group chats). Push can be turned off within the app, but it sort of defeats the purpose if you won't know who messaged you until you open the app.
Wikipanda
Best Wikipedia app I've tried. Clean and stable.
InstantReddit
FailBlog
Flashlight XT (no ads)
UC (web browser)
WolframAlpha
Youtube Pro
Thats it? no more apps?
Any free app for google talk(voice and video) ?? I did not find any...
Anybody know if there are any HDR camera apps on the marketplace? I haven't been able to find one
Edit: Sorry for getting off topic

Must haves
Evernote
Engadget
Netflix
Slacker radio (i prefer it to pandora anyways)
Pulse
SkyDrive (this really should just be preinstalled)

List of "good" apps

My list from a few other threads, but very relevant here since everyone is probably wondering what "app" to get.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnAJoa0-ynONdGJiVDRSQ0p4VGtCaklESmtEbkJzNUE
edit: you guys can add to it ^_^
Great list, a few I couldn't live without:
Badass Battery, 4.7
Mobi Calculator, 4.8
FX File Explorer, 4.7
N7 Player, 4.7
Gtasks, 4.5
DIGI Clock Widget, 4.6
Palmary Weather, 4.5
GasBuddy, 4.6
YouAreHere, 4.7
Navfree, 3.8
Widgetsoid2, 4.6
I've found some of the widgets by this dev are excellent and he supports them very well if you mail him.
The Pure Grid calendar widget has options for tablet size widgets, multiple calendars, colour coding etc.
Also imho HDR Camera+ should be up there with ZoomFX
OP - amazing list!
That is a very clean and comprehensive list of apps you have OP. Thanks for posting... I am definitely going to try some of them out.

Here's my Android tablet list of "best of breed" apps:
GTasks - syncs with Google Notes, has reminders, great widgets. Augments my calendar for many things. Free.
Dark Knight - good tablet chess app. Free+no ads.
AndroXplorer - first-rate file explorer with CIFS support. Free (minor advert), but I bought Pro with my Play credit. Better than all the others I've tried and has proper tablet interface.
SuperSU - fine-grained control of root permissions. Free+no ads, Pro has some sweet features, bought it.
AdAway - prevents ads from even downloading. Probably the biggest performance booster you can get. Free, no ads. This is one of the killer apps that will hook you on Android.
System Tuner - you won't believe the crap that starts up automatically. Fix it with this free app (minor ads). Pro is worth it.
AnkiDroid - Can't believe it's free w/o ads. Flashcards app to study nearly anything, many study decks available. Better than the $25 Anki iPad app which I bought.
Cool Reader - ebook reader, lots of useful features. Free and ad-free.
Aldiko Pro - slick reader, works with most formats, worth the $3.
Apps I'd like but which don't work yet:
Moon+ Reader (incl Pro) is broken on Jelly Bean, doesn't show text. When it works I'll buy Pro again.
Encore Learning Platform - free, no-ads, flashcards app.
If I could have clicked the "Thanks" icon 10 times for supplying us with this great database I would have. But I couldn't so THANK YOU X 10!

Well done..

Apps you must install on N7!

I have been playing with my N7 for a few weeks now and have just rooted it ( after realizing my cable wasn't fully pushed in after an hour of banging my head on brick wall).
Forgetting Facebook, G+, Twitter & Games what are the must have apps that should be downloaded to show off the N7.
I am thinking wi-fi killa, Pulse and any other apps that are truly used daily and really have the wow factor on the N7.
Thanks in advance for all the help I have got before joining the site.

Whatsapp - Obviously this has to be side loaded but its so much better than on a phone!
... well, I've got an 8GB; so I figure that the most crucial apps to me would be the cloud ones (i.e., Google Drive @ 5GB free, SkyCloud @ 7GB free, Dropbox @ 3GB, and the pre-installed Google Play Music @ 20,000 songs free...)
As a perk, GrooVeIP Free (tablet to phone) is a true Wi-Fi Calling experience on top of the Google Voice app.

Because Gameloft tend not to optimise for Tegra 3 devices and most of their games are laggy. I've got a few Gameloft games and the main culprit of an unoptimized game is Amazing Spider-Man! Incredibly laggy. But some others work fine (for me at least), like Where's Wally Now, Asphalt Urban 7...

Is there a widget for a news app that's similar to the My Library widget?

What App do you use?

Let's all share what apps we are using (name and a little info for the app) so we all can have the best apps for root/non root tablet. This include games, drawing programs etc..
Please add just the most awesome apps not every app you have.
So I am with no rooted device and I use -
Castle clash - online game - build your city and attack others.
Nova Launcher - everyone knows it (change the look of your tablet)
SD Maid - clears my temporary files and other - like 2 GB for 6 months.
Silk Paints - it adds cool effects to your Spen.
ArtFlow - for drawing.
What are your best apps ?

Here are some of the apps I use the most....
Apex Launcher - The first thing I do when I get a phone or tablet is install Apex. Complete control of over the number and size of icons that can be put on the screen. Many gestures available. Just a wonderful interactive experience that is consistent from phone to tablet.
Pebble - Yes, I have a Pebble watch and love it.
Drippler - This app is a news aggregate app that has news stories specific to the device on which it's installed.
Team Viewer - A remote control app to let me work on my PC from anywhere.
Groove IP - This app works in conjunction with Google Voice that lets me make/receive phone calls on my wifi-only Note. When a person calls my Google Voice number it rings on my phone, PC, tablet, home phone and office phone. Ironically, the tablet and PC start ringing about 3 seconds before the cell phone rings.
Google Voice - This is my main text messaging app.
Touchdown - Connects to my company's corporate Exchange email server.
Samsung Milk - Samsung's new music app that I really like. It's not in the Play Store for the Note so I had to search XDA forums for an APK download.
Chrome Beta browser - I just like it better since it easily syncs bookmarks with my desktop.
Timely - This is a clock replacement that I use for my alarm clock.
7
Auralux - This is a fascinating game that's very hard to explain. If you have Osmos then you kinda know what Auralux is like. Try it.
Pulse - Another news aggregater.
Droid of the Day - A daily app finder
Amazon app store - A paid app for free every day.
Fancy Widgets - Nobody has more weather widget skins than them. Most of them are very pretty.
PushBullet - It's the easiest way to pass links, text, etc. from device to device to PC. If you've been emailing links to yourself to get something from your PC to your tablet then you need PushBullet. It also has the side benefit of being able to display your Android notifications as fly-outs on your PC's Chrome browser. You won't need to pick up your phone/tablet to see what your phone/tablet is buzzing about.
Slice - I buy a lot of stuff online. Slice will parse through my email and keep me up to date on where that stuff is at in the supply chain. And, since it knows everything I bought I don't have to search my email to find a receipt if I want to buy the same thing again.
Wakelock Detector - If your battery is draining then this app will pinpoint which apps are waking up the CPU. Very handy.
Droid Over Wifi - Want to send/receive files to/from your tablet without plugging it into your PC? This is for you.
PicSpeed Wallpapers - This app has the most beautiful wallpapers around. They add dozens daily.
Wallpaper Changer - Combine this with PicSpeed and your background will never be boring.

Thanks very much I will try some of the apps (PicSpeed and Wallpaper Changer are installing right now).
Lecture notes, EzPDF, Kindle, Dolphin Browser and Tapatalk would be my top five if you don't count background apps like Nova Launcher and my clock widget.

I don't know how I forgot this app: Color Note.
It's probably the app I rely upon the most. It's a note taking app that I use strictly for checklists. I keep a list for the grocery store. I keep a list for Costco. I even keep a checklist for the things to take for a UCLA football tailgate party. I have dozens of list.
But the best part is that it's also a cloud app so that the lists are all synchronized between devices. It's also shared with my wife. I drive by Costco on the way home and when I stop there to get gas I look at the list to see if my wife has put anything on the Costco list. If so, I stop in and pick it up. I put things on the Trader Joe's list and she picks them up when she shops.
It's such a simple and wonderful app.

What apps do you use most on your tablet for media consumption and productivity?

I am not a fan of mobile games so could someone suggest me some good apps that I should download?
Plex is superb.
OneNote is a must.
Tapatalk and Relay are very good.
Google music for my music necessities.
Carcassonne is one of my favorite games if you're interested in trying a new one.

Just use Samsung browser in night mode and go to read comic.to
Why would ya cast netlfix to Chromecast that's so dumb when it can directly play from that or TV.
Read draw on PDFs already tab s3 comes with Adobe and with write capabilities

The Netflix app has a cast button which loads Netflix on the Chromecast then using the phone/tablet you select what you wanna watch, so in a sense the Android app is like a remote for the Chromecast. Kinda dumb why you would judge without knowing what your talking about. Also my tab didn't come with Adobe. Sorry i don't do things like you.

Sorry to see you are so far behind in the world.
I guess you don't got a smart TV then. Android TV? Voice control?
It's not like YouTube to TV so that sucks for you.
Going through all that trouble.
You know, what you're doing there is actually a setting u can call it a trick but I don't know if I wanna tell you.
And honestly since ya don't got a HDR TV I suppose it's better to watch on tab itself ...
Well about Adobe, man I give up. Some people just don't apply logic. You must be one of those older generation or some rich dude who doesn't spend or just some retard.
Then again I'm a Mensan so I won't judge. You live your tier 3 life man, AI is what's happening in case you missed it.
And by the way, I absolutely know what you're talking of would have been better to buy a compute stick instead of Chromecast coz google really rapeyd ya on that one.
Lol
And Netflix is so 2010 nowadays a psarip will do.
Amazon people don't rip much.
Also I'm just paying 7 USD per year for it.

These are all art apps. Markers is completely free..as in FOSS no ads, available to download source, modify and compile yourself (from github--playstore has compiled binary of course)etc.
The others are proprietary and...not terrible. Autodesk has made sketchbook pro for win/OSX (they're the same to me) .. totally free, not sure about sketchbook for android as I bought it years ago and cant tell if its paid or not since it's on my tablet.
