Can someone PM or post here a dump of your /system/app from the root of your phone? Specifically only from a STOCK setup. I don't want your personal apps or information. I am only actually looking for what should be something like ATTAPNLib.apk attapnpermission.apk and ATTAPNService.apk
Thanks in advance guys!
Anyone?

If you would please do a better search next time. There are 62 threads in the att development forum. While this was close to the bottom, it was there. Have a nice day and happy flashing.
Oh, I'm sorry, I guess I didn't ask for something specifically enough for you. Take my post and search for what I asked. I'll wait...
Now that my point has been proven, at least you didn't act like an ass like most members here do.
Thanks anyway.
Nothing I needed in those dumps, just as I suspected. I need a direct pull from an AT&T phone.

First of all, I really enjoy the site, thanks for having it. It's an awesome place to come and get the info I need, and if i can help out others.
Anyways on to the first suggestion. I mostly stay around the htc hero (CDMA) section, so I'm not sure if this issue is site wide or not, but I've noticed a TON of spam. I realize moderators try there hardest to clean it up, but with such a large forum it's close to impossible to keep it clean, and I understand that. I think we need some sort of initiative to keep people from posting just for the heck of it. for example in the thread for the damagecontrol rom, I had to go through pages of spam to find useful info. People were posting things similar to "wow i've refreshed so much my f5 key is broke haha", c'mon that doesn't help out at all. Veering away from this subject a bit is all the people that just say thanks for the rom, perhaps this is a mod for vBulletin. I know there is one for IPB that adds a "thanks" button to the original post so people don't add "thanks for the stuff" posts. I don't know if everyone agrees with me but I'm really annoyed with having to go through page after page to find useful info.
This leads me to my second suggestion, which I'm not sure about. One idea I have to help organize the threads would be to add a wiki post right below the original post. I don't know if there is a mod available for vbull. to do this. An example of what I am thinking of would be here at slickdeals.net:
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1906634
you can see in the wiki post, someone edited it to alert everyone that the deal is dead. I don't have to go to the last page to see this, it's right there. I truly think something like this would greatly improve organization and readability.
Thanks for reading and looking forward to reading responses,
-sam
When i try to restore a rom my phone says "This does not seem to be a valid backup. The MD5 file is missing." Is there a way to fix this?
Please Help!!!!!!!!
Hi, you posted in Android Development, however it appears that you should have posted in Q&A. Also, more exclamation marks won't get you help any faster.
Cheers.

maybe if you posted in the right section you'd get an actual answer instead of getting flamed...posting here just makes people want to help you less...

Try charging your battery some and then restoring the nandroid.
In the future think twice about where you are posting.
Is this a question? Maybe it should go in the question forum? Cheers!

did you change the file name of the backup?????????????????????????????????????????????????
If your using rom manager try reflashing the recovery.
browse the SD card using your computer... find the backup file that you are trying to restore... rename it to something simple without any "-" and especially no slashes "\" or "/" ... reboot back into recovery.... no restore the newly renamed backup
oh ya and post in the right section... don't use exclamation points.... and of course my favorite: I could have answered or ignored... but i will post just to tell you you are a nugtard
Why is everyone bashing this guy? I'm sure he's panicky cuz he can't get his **** back proper, and probably not thinking quite straight.
And to OP, I couldn't say it better than 2 of the posters already said. Hope you get it sorted. And Jesus, people, give a guy a break.

I was panicky, drove into oncoming traffic and almost killed 30 people because I wasn't thinking straight and able to get my **** back proper.
We go through this everytime. Posted to wrong section, broke rules and didn't read. Stickies are there for a reason. It gets old, people don't care and post anyway.
I mod alerted the post before I posted to help avoid flame wars thinking a mod would come along and move it quick, and yet here it still sits. So apparently no one else cares that Q&A gets posted here.
So, instead of fighting the problem, it's easier anymore to just 'lulz' around in these threads and wait for the next one to be posted to repeat the process.
Then you might ask "why not just help?". For one, it just encourages more of this crap. Next, I read the OP. Any help given would be a shot in the dark and not worth the time or effort. Others have 'suggested' things but without more information from the OP, who seems to have vanished, we can't help anymore than playing 20 questions.

great points. the lack of research is a detriment to us all
I want a extra option on the tread with the ability to agree with some one.
I read the most post on my phone with the XDA app.
And i find it hard to read stuff that is relevant for me to read.
Imagine how hard it must be for a dev to find relevant post........
There are a large number of users who post "+1, +100000, +1!!!!!" replies with no bearing on the thread. I'm thought of adding an "Agree" button would alleviate that.
That you could see that also (like the thanks button).
Something like this: The following (numbers) user are agree with this post.
I hope that it will help.
My hope with this poll is to see how many people wanted this.
So the question is:
Do you think this is a good idea (the agree button) to put this on the site?
Someone PM me, to ad also here the poll to create more vote's.
So let's try it
The main thread is here.
@ everybody, Please take your time to vote, because I truly believe this could work!!!
Many thanks.
Greets
PS if you don't think this is a good idea, please let me know why...
This is a serious question. I'm not trolling, flaming, or anything else you might think.
I really don't understand how to get a question(s) answered on this site. I don't care how much or how little information I give it is never answered. I will google my questions, search the forums, read and reread developer threads and even search youtube to try to find my answers. When all else fails, I post here. Never have any of my questions been answered.
I would really love some advice on this considering I'm a noob at most of this rooting stuff and I have some questions. I don't want someone to hold my hand or anything like that. I just want some helpful links or advice.
If anyone could tell me how I should word my posts so they would be answered I would be so appreciative.
Again I am not trying to be rude, I have the utmost respect for the mods and developers here. I just don't know what I am doing wrong to never get questions answered.
I'm sure you can understand how frustrating it is to come home after work and look back at a post hoping for an answer and nothing is there other than a locked thread. I don't want to be that person that annoyingly keeps reposting something over and over. I just want to learn what I am doing wrong, fix it, and hopefully help others out when I learn from my own mistakes.
Moved to About XDA.
Well the key is to post in the right section, if its a device question post in that devices sub forum so other users see it.
Its possible if your asking in a low activity sub forum then it will not get answered

Just my suggestions to get your posts answered:
1. Extensive searching before posting:
Maybe you are not the first one with this question or issue.
Search for other users posted the same or similar problem and look if they got propper answers.
2. If you can not find anybody else asked the same or similar question, then search for descriptions/explanations which might solve your issue.
Maybe the answer is already there (even without an explicit question).
3. If neither the question nor the answer can be found, then you have to find the proper place for posting your question.
Is there a forum for your device, then go to that forum.
Is there a dedicated Question & Answer (Q&A) sub forum, then go there.
Is there a thread for asking / even for new users, with many posts and the last post is from today, then go there and post your question there.
This step is very important, as you have to find a place where your post will be seen by some experienced users which know the answer.
4. Now let's check the contents of your post itself.
Please think about the xda rules (no offence, no personal attack, English, etc.).
Describe as much as possible, what might be useful for others to think about the possible cause of your issue and a good solution to fix it or to give your the right answer.
What device/model, what app(s), what firmware version (ROM, kernel, modem, etc.), what was before, what is now, what have you done, what has happened in between, etc.
Maybe not all those information is really needed to solve the issue or give your the answer, but are you sure that it is not relevant?
If you are not sure, then provide this info.
Be polite, stay as "objective" as possible ... most of the time, emotions are not needed to solve the issue
Maybe you say something like "I would appreciate any kind of suggestion, even if it does not help to solve the issue for me.", or "Thanks in advance.".
It's a kind of motivation for other users to be confident to answer your post, even if they are not absolutely sure that it really can solve your issue.
Good luck !

Notes for help seeker :
1. Make the situation SHORT and NEAT
2. Highlight the main problem
3. provide info by point form like me
4. always provide related keyword for SEO , so that similar help seeker will come to your thread and share their experience too.
After looking over your posts I see you seem to have alot of issues related to your camera and SD cards.
Providing a logcat is the biggest help. As for one rom you used. The MIUI rom it is best to check the MIUI site as no development is done here for it. Only simple ports.

Who's talking about me
Some issues are quite complex or involved, and very few people will be able to answer them.
Camera is often one of these things unfortunately. In some ways, the silly, often-asked questions get more answers than the "real" ones. The fact nobody else has had the issue means nobody else can likely help...
A shame, but hopefully you can get it sorted out!
Don't get me wrong, but why don't you consider this as an opportunity to learn more?
Try learning what causes the problem, what is supposed to happen, why does it happen, why doesn't it happen...
Take this as an opportunity to learn more...about android, about hardware, about kernels and roms...
Not saying that it would be easy...
Hopefully, you may be able to do something about it...
And who knows, maybe XDA would get lucky with a new dev on the block

Guys, i am a frequent poster at a LeTV s1/X600 phone thread. It would be great if the first post was updated frequently about new information/FAQS/updates/news ROMs, important information, etc. However the OP user, has the account disabled. It's a mess that important information is spread across several pages*, not usefull for people that needs info (sometimes urgent) and not for the guys doing the answering, we don't mind answering, but it would be better for everyone if the important information was in one place.
Now, sure i could open a new thread, but somewhere in the future i will sell this phone and maybe not interested in updating the info on the first post. So, is there a way to have a post editable by more than 1 user so when someone leaves, others could continue updating?
*- This is indeed a typical problem of forums.

Sorry, this isn't really possible. The only way would be to give you the OP. And if you sell the phone and someone offers to take over, they could get the OP.

Ok, this seems reasonable. In case i open a new thread, but after a while i'm no longer interested maintaining the first post i could pass to other user. How could this be done? Is there a way to actually change the user for the first post?
Other way maybe... I could open a new user account and share it, this would be ok too, right?

To have the first post ownership changed, just hit report on the opening post and request the change. If it's someone else's thread, they would need to initiate the change. You can pm a Moderator from your section as well.
And no, it's against XDA rules to create more than one account. Also, multiple persons accessing an account is never a good idea.

All right then. Maybe it's easier to start a new thread. We just want to make a informative (FAQs, updates, tutorials, etc) opening post. BTW, the thread is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/letv-one-x600-s1-hands-antutu-camera-t3130033
As you can see, the OP has the account disabled. But ok, we'll probably open a new thread.
Thanks for the attention guys.

Given the circumstances in which he was banned, I think in this case it would be best to start anew thread. Once you do, let me know and I can close the old one with a link to your new one.
