Help with Go SMS and Stock Messaging Copy Paste FC issue - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Need some help, I cannot find anything on this. Anyone got anything for me?
I use Go SMS for text usually, and when in a text thread and clicking the back button or trying to copy/paste, I get an error that says "Unexpected Error" in the status bar and a FC. When going into the stock Messaging app and doing the same thing, I don't get the error in the status bar, but it does FC. Seems to be an error with both "back" from a text thread to the messaging home screen, and an error with copy/paste in my SMS apps.
Copy/paste also FC when trying to use it in Evernote. However, it does not with other apps like contacts, chrome, etc...
Any ideas? It is driving me freaking nuts!!
EDIT: Had no choice but to do full wipe and reflash the ROM. Works fine now, doesn't appear to be a fix if any of you run into this issue, except full wipe and ROM reflash.

cannot delete mail/sms after restore, no 'envelope' icon.

Not sure if anyone else had this: I did a ROM upgrade on my XDA IIs, then restored all my data from a back up on my PC. most things seemed OK (though some GPRS settings were lost), but some old SMS messages and emails now show in the relevant folders, but have no 'envelop' next to them. I can't open them (you see the window try to expand, but nothing happens), and I can't delete them either! Even 'empty folders' doesn't work.
Does anyone know if there's a way of taking them out manually via explorer, or am I just stuck with them?
Thanks for any help

im having the same problem with my phone. i can send messages to deleted items but when i try to delete those althought they go away the number thats in deleted items shows in blue

[Q] Gallery App won't work?

Why am I getting this message? I just did a clean install of my current rom with a new kernel. Clean wipe of everything. Google couldn't help me out either.

Sounds like the com.google.android.gallery3d file either got corrupted or removed. It however is one that should come back after a reboot and/or battery pulle and it should be fixed.
Please hit the thanks button if I helped
Neither.. still the same message. My Google+ photos are loaded though behind the error message.
if you have root explorer look in sdcard/android/data and see if the file I mentioned is listed there. If it is not the I would try the go under settings/apps/gallery and clear data and do the same for google+ then reboot. If that doesn't help then you may have to manually download it and place it there.

About Notification bar: is this a bug?

Hi guys, since I downloaded several wallpapers via chrome yesterday, I noticed that no matter how many times I cleared the "download complete" notifications, they would still appear again. Even just after I rebooted the device; and moreover, I also cleared the data of "download" and "chrome", they still appears anyhow!
Anyone has any idea what the problem is? Thanks in advanced.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda
I may just find the solution: I should clear the data of "download manager", not the "download". It seems ok now.

or you could just clear notifications and it will clear that
I had this same problem twice, but thought it was bug of ROM and installed another one :silly:
i had the same problem on 4.2. force stop and clear data of download manager in all apps did the job until i dloaded more files. turns out it was because i frooze download manager from starting up in system tuner app. i allowed it to start and problem was fixed.
however, touching the dloaded file from the notification bar does nothing. going into the download app and selecting the file leads me to ":/downloads/all_downloads does not exist" error. you actually have to go into root explorer or your file manager to open the file.
i do not like 4.2, at all. it's buggy as hell. i about to restore my 4.1.2 rom.

[Q] Can't edit contact pictures.

Installed the GPE RUU and love it.
The only bug is that if I try to assign pictures to a contact I get the 'unfortunately the process android.process.media has stopped.'
If I say ok and click on a photo it then says, 'contacts has stopped'
Anybody else get this and does anyone have a fix?
SOLVED: Brainfart - just needed to clear cache in apps/media storage. DUH!

General Issue with SMS Backup And Restore

PSA I guess is what this might be, just had an issue with moving SMS's from one phone to the p6 and thought I'd share in case it helps someone else.
Been getting my phone set up and one of the things I did was use SMS Backup and Restore to back up the messages from my 2Xl over to the 6p. It was roughly 120K text messages over the last 4 years.
The import 'seemed' to go okay but it didn't. I don't know if its a volume/count issue or a android 12 issue or a p6 issue but the messages app was kind of fried after the import. It would freeze/hang, send messages into oblivion etc and had 6(ish) just blank icons and blank entry lines at the bottom of the text list that 'side flashed' like they were loading but never did. I let it sit for about 12 hours thinking it might be an index issue or something but it just never recovered. Sometimes I'd hit send and it would go out, other times I'd get the ding but it wouldn't show up on my side, and from what I can tell never went out. I tried to delete conversations and they'd sometimes disappear from the messages app but on a reboot they'd be back.
Best guess is the SMS database got jacked up by the restore and only a complete delete would fix it.
I then tried to use SMS Back up and Restore to delete the messages from the app using the feature under Tools in the app and it also just hung on "Deleting" and never finished after about 6 hours.
So... I ended up having to use a terminal to kill the smsmms.db and db-journal files out of the telephony folder, reboot, wipe messages cache and storage to clear it. I was just one step short of doing a firmware re-install with the -w option but this seems to have worked the way I expected.
If you have a need for this step for some reason, on a rooted phone, install any terminal app from the play store, run it and then type the below. The commands for those who are familiar with terminal is get superuser (you'll be prompted by Magisk to allow), change directory to the place where the SMS database files are stored, list the files there, I only had the two, remove each file.
su
cd data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/
ls
rm smsmms.db
rm smsmms.db-journal
Close the terminal.
Wipe Messages cache and storage.
Reboot.
You should now have a blank slate in the messages app.
Not ideal for me but I'm not sure yet if you can copy just individual threads over. I don't need all the "Hey you want to sell your house?" and "Medical coverage is going to expire" and "here's your MFA code" threads or threads from years ago.
All you need is SQLite to open the smsmms.db file and delete all the cruft
