Why am I getting this message? I just did a clean install of my current rom with a new kernel. Clean wipe of everything. Google couldn't help me out either.
<picture attached>
Sounds like the com.google.android.gallery3d file either got corrupted or removed. It however is one that should come back after a reboot and/or battery pulle and it should be fixed.
Please hit the thanks button if I helped
Neither.. still the same message. My Google+ photos are loaded though behind the error message.
if you have root explorer look in sdcard/android/data and see if the file I mentioned is listed there. If it is not the I would try the go under settings/apps/gallery and clear data and do the same for google+ then reboot. If that doesn't help then you may have to manually download it and place it there.

Hi,
When I go into adb and remove some system apps such as quickoffice, twitter, etc, they still show up under "manage applications" even though they are not installed anymore. How can I remove that?
Thank you,
Just a stab in the dark, have you re-booted your phone?
Yeah, rebooted it, wipe cache , dalvik cache, all that good stuff, but those links are still there, even though the apps are not installed. it's not big deal but it's frustrating When I click on one of those dead links, it just give me the Force Close message.
Ok, another stab in the dark, lol, sorry if this isn't helping! Have you tried getting es task manager and killing the processes? Or if you mean the list of applications in the settings, possibly its actually not the Facebook.apk but the com.HTC.Facebook.apk I am not really sure though.
Correct, the list of applications under setting is what I mean. I removed amazonmp3, twitter, and a bunch of others, but yet, when I go into the list of installed applications under settings, they still show up there, even though they are not taking any space, they are empty links. When I click on any of them, it just gives me a Force Close error.
Hmm. Maybe check the folder contents of app-cache through shell?
nothing in there just com.android.browser ... oh well. Hopefully I will figure it out eventually.
I am sure you will. Or someone else will comment on it. Worst case, take the rom zip file, extract it, remove the apk's that you don't want, zip it back up and flash it lol. Thats worst case if you can't figure it out. Or try someones ROM that has it removed
I seem to be having a problem with clearing my Status Bar>Notifications.
I know the Clear button is right there in the top-right corner of the the list. I hit it, the list appears to be blank. But when I go to Market, or if I download any files, the whole list comes back and all the old items are still on there.
Why won't that old stuff actually Clear?
Is this list "saved" somewhere, like in a file?
UPDATE: Solution is to Clear Data for the Download Manager app.
credit:dfs_
(Desktop) Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>(Tab) All>
(scroll down and choose Download Manager)
Click [Clear data]
Reboot?????
You need a reboot. Happened with me too, particularly when you install lots of apps.
Reboot doesn't work
Thanks for the suggestion, but I actually already tried that. It did not help.
Any other ideas? I'm not an Android Ninja, but I could manage something a little more technical than Reboot. Happy to provide any other debugging info that would be useful
are you rooted?
if so, go into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and reboot.
I am rooted, and I have already tried wiping the Dalvik Cache (through CWM).
That also didn't work.
you tried to remove the battery for a few seconds?
edit: clear the download manager app data
SOLVED
It's been a while, but...
I just checked in on this thread again to see if anyone had come up with a solution to my continually nagging problem.

That does in fact seem to have worked, thanks! I don't know the exact "cause" of this problem, but at least here is a perfectly good work-around.
Perhaps this will helps someone else. If I ever figure out anything more about WHY, I'll post it here and be sure to post it here, as well as passing it along to the appropriate Devs (Cyanogen, or whomever).
As a bit of additional diagnostic info, when I Install or Update Apps from the Market, I can download them just fine, and they install fine too, but the Market app status gets stuck on "Installing..." with a gray scrolling bar. The Notifications indicate that the process is complete. Not sure if this is in any way related.
First off I'd like to start off by saying that I am kind of an idiot...with that said; I like to mess around with important files on my device(Acer a100) even though I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing.
Using titanium backup I uninstalled that download system apk. The one with the green icon and the white arrow pointing down. Now when I try to restore it through tit. Backup it will just freeze and keep saying that it is restoring and I have to finally force close titanium. I have also tried messing around with permissions in root explorer, fixing permissions in rom manager, navigating to system/app and installing it manually through a file explorer( get message install fail), and hard resetting.
The main problem is that everything I download will show in my notification bar and after I close/exit them they come back 5-30 min later. If I click on the download in my notification(not on the x) then my notification bar just closes. I can kinda fix this by turning my notifications off or cleaning data/cache on ?download storage? Apk/app.
Does anyone know of an easy fix for restoring this system apk. For there are no custom roms or recovery sources for this device that I have seen yet.
Thank-you, Robb
Get the system.apk file from the roms here

i tried downloading those recovery files and twice they came back saying they were corrupted, is there any way someone can just upload the system file i need from their a100...its the downloads apk. the green icon with a white arrow pointing down

PM me with your email address, I'll email you the apk from my A100, I'm still running the stock rom that I pulled it out of the box with.
You can download it straight to your tab from your email, beforee you do, get a file manager (like es file manager) from the market. You will be able to get to your downloads folder from there and install it.
ummmmm............ could you repeat that?

He's got Root Explorer, that should do the trick.
To the OP: You are mounting the system partition R/W in Root Explorer when you try this, aren't you? Hate to ask a dumb question but.....
Yes I am hitting that button up top on root explorer changing it from r/w to r/o but I think some how I just got the wrong apk....after titanium wouldn't restore it I think I remember copying apk. From my phone (g2x) and attempting to restore those...dumb, I know I might of tried changing the names of the apk. Too,..like I say I f*** with s*** I have no business Fu****** with. I will p.m. my email now maybe I can get a screen shot of the system files if anyone feels up to it, so I can cross check proper name and sizes
How about just reinstalling the 3.2.1 update that is in the developer section. There should be no reason to factory reset since it is the same version. I have soft bricked mine a few times and I have just did the update again.
I even upgraded from whatever version the device shipped with to 3.2.1 without wiping the data.
A100 development section??? I see three a100 recovery downloads and one a101 recovery in our development section but when I download them i t says they were corrupted...if those are what your talking about...which one exactly should I use and what do I do with the file after words???
----sorry two that say a101 and two a100
So should I use file Id # 115,116,117,or 109
Use the one in this post. It is already decrypted. The ones in the frist post need to be decrypted using the Acer decryption tool. I have used the one I linked to probably 20 times. Once you run the update you will have to re-root the tablet.
thank-you all..recovered and fixed!!!
I was able to fix my problem by using the recovery update zips. But I want to thank everyone that helped, and remind people from experience to freeze unwanted system apps instead of uninstlling in titanium backup.u
Very important advice also is to search and read before starting new posts. I could have saved some time and headache just by doing that...the answers were just a couple paragraphs away the whole time.
SystemUI keeps crashing when it tries to restart, making my phone completely unusable. I'm not able to flash another ROM at the moment so what I'd like to try is deleting the app data for SystemUI (wiping cache and dalvik didn't work). I have Team Win Recovery so I'm able to access the filesystem to delete files.
Can anyone suggest which file(s) I should look for?

I want to keep my most recent files. I took some photos today and they didn't get a chance to instant upload. I can wait a few days until I get to a computer I can use ADB on to push a ROM.
Sounds like you don't need a working device.
a maguro wrote this.
Use adb to remove /data/data/com.android.systemui/ folder
Hey guys! Big news!
I've fixed the problem, well.. sort of.
I will edit the post If I had something else to test.
1. Uninstalled Android System Webview and installed the one that is present in the Play Store (I can't select it for Webview Implementation though)
2. Launched YouTube app and showed a green screen no matter what the quality is.
3. Tried Chrome and the video works well without any freezes.
Hey guys. It looks like on my s 21 timobile version I am unable to download any files in Firefox and Chrome. Is there any workaround it? My Sammy also blocked any incoming wiles when I truied direct wifi transfer - it just didn't allow files to be downloaded to the phone. Surprisingly I was able to download files in stock browser but that is not my preferred browser. Please advise if you know any solutions or workarounds for downloading files in other browsers. Not rooted and prefer not to root. Thank you.
What kind of a problem is this? How can apps not access storage? Is this a joke?
Check storage permission and camera permission. (some apps may need camera permission to access image files)
Try rebooting the phone.
Try clearing cache memory of the app.
Try reinstalling the app. In case of chrome then uninstall updates and update it from playstore.
Try Advanced download manager from playstore.
If none of the above works, then you definitely did something to your phone that caused this bizarre issue and I'd like you to explain exactly what you did.

It's not a joke. That's why I am asking. Clean phone out of the box and unable to do wifi direct transfer(it just stays at zero). Same happens when I try downloading anything from the browser(message is download failed).
OP, 3 duplicate threads, really?
Try holding your finger down on the download link then selkecting save link
