You might be on Alpha 29 or a lower version based on the timestamps on Morfic's site:
http://www.derkernel.com/ics-d2.php
I am on A43, I think A37 introduced tweaks in color, I would recommend upgrading to that atleast.
Make sure you choose the proper kernel, ICS or CM.

Yea you got it, CM roms need CM kernels, Stock roms need Stock kernels.
If you are on the Wicked Rom, it is based off the Stock Rom, so download the stock kernel:
TGST-STOCK-ICS-ALPHA43b <-----See the difference on how he names the file, download this one
TGST-CM9-ICS-ALPHA43b
So I have the newest miui rom that is in the android development section. I am wondering if there are any kernels that I can change to that are better than the one it comes with. Am I even able to switch kernels?

Get the AOSP version of it JB also
Isn't there a kernel by faux or something? Or is there only one kernel I can have?
Yes, Fuax has a JB CM10 kernel. It's what I use since KT747 doesn't ever work for me.

I have recently installed CM10 on my AT&T galaxy s3(sgh-i747) and was wondering how to figure out if a kernel is compatible with my device. I was looking at the Devil kernel and didn't understand how to know if it would work with my phone.
Read the kernels thread OP. It should specify if it's for AOSP ROMs or Touchwiz ROMs. Kernels for our devices can be found in the Android development and original development sections.

You mentioned CM10, so you want one that works with AOSP based ROMs. Also make sure they explicitly say CM10(Jellybean 4.1) or CM10.1 (Jellybean 4.2.1), depending on what version of Jellybean you have.

So im I'm looking at the kernel kt747 by ktoonz and there is a version for jellybean 4.2.1 and one that just says jellybean would it be safe to flash the one that just says aosp jellybean version (BTW I have cm10 so I have 4.1.2 not 4.2.1)? Thanks for all of the help.
Flash the one that says jellybean AOSP (12/11).
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Yes. Flash the normal JB version. 4.2.1 is solely for 4.2.1. Not 4.1.2
Thanks
It worked well, thanks everyone for the help.

Finally some one who uses the Q&A.yes it should support AOKP/CM themes.
I'm thinking test your ROM, but whats is the kernel included in the zip file?
Lupus v11? 3.X Kernel?
The main post said dont work JB Camera (4.2.2). There is other camera app included in ROM (CM camera 4.1.2 perhaps) or we must install other third party camera app.
setup wizard pac-man
Hey I flashed the inkludet kernel and did a full wipe and installed the ROM. The Rom boots but then the Setup Wizard does not respond and I cant set upp my phone. A tested this tvice and then re downloadet the rom but got the same results. Is it only me or are others having the same problem Im comming from a nother JB 4.2.2. rom if that helps. I realy want to try this rom and a realy like your work, been using lupus kernel for a long time now. Thanks

No its nAa kernel as I havent started on a 3.x kernel. Of course there is legacy camera like in cm10 included in the R no need to flash extras.

Others seem to be having no problems. Perhaps its something to do with gapps. I'm assuming you used full gapps. Try the mini or light version of gapps. So long as u done your full wipes I can't see any other reason. Maybe try flash ROM let it boot then go back to recovery and flash gapps.
Edit - OK so apparently light gapps just causes FC'ing I'll link to other gapps when I'm home.
i flashed this ROM with full Gapps in Xperia Arc S, and it's working really fine, until now had twice random reboots, but that's not really a problem to me.
other than that the ROM is awesome. :good:
Q: is it okay if i use Lupus JBv11 Kernel? (qurrently using kernel included in ROM)
thanks in advance

See I'm pretty sure its the kernel giving random reboots. But with LuPuS or Fusion kernel, WiFi and Bluetooth will not work on 4.2.
Hey, one question:
Why the Wifi doesn't work on LuPuS or FusioN Kernel? :/
I#m using Paranoidmod now, because od that...
LuPuS Kernel v11 by wedgess + P.A.C.man by wedgess = Doesn't work?

All 4.2 ROMs changed firmware binaries and changed wifiload script. But... suppose I could try get get kernel to install and use old firmware binaries and run lupus wifiload script?? We will see!! maybe I'll push back kernel update until I give it a go and get someone to test.

Okay that would be very nice
And if you'll need a tester I will be your man
Thanks very much
EDIT: The LuPuS kernel works nearly perfect with Paranoidrom, but not with CM10.1, PAC and AOKP...really?!

Hi,
May I also post on the Pro version here? There is no seperate thread for it.
It's my first attempt on a custom rom after using stock ICS. Unfortunately, I found it to be very unstable
My first attempt was Lupus/v21, now I'm on Fusion/v22. Both seem to be highly unstable. Just using apps is normally fine, but a few things seem to provoke lockups including unlocking the screen, listening to music and using the camera.
I did a full wipe before installing (system, cache, dalvik cache, data), I even tried the permissions fix.
Otherwise it seems a great rom, perfect feature set and very fast, but the unstability makes it unusable for me

Yes u can post here also. Comparing any 4.2 ROM to STOCK ICS, stock ICS would be the winner in terms of stability. 4.1 is the best if you want JB IMO. But 4.2 and especially PAC 4.2 has a lot more features, customization amongst other things. It doesn't matter on the kernel its going to be the same. This is why FXP stopped developing after CM10 for the XPERIA 2011 line-up. It will never be 100% stable as will any 4.2 ROM for Xperia 2011.
I don't know what calls you stabillity, but 4.1 is very stable, almost as 4.0. 4.2 isn't stable specially with 3.x kernels, but 4.1 is perfect. And FXP stop the development for 2011 line becase they have to develop for a lot of devices, i think.

I said 4.1 is stable. And no they stopped because without a stable 3.x kernel it would be impossible for a stable 4.2 J. There was no 3.x kernel for 2011 device back then, but even still they knew if there was a 3.x kernel it would need a lot of work to get stable, if it even can.

I think that crapy random reboot is the only problem now.

I have a couple of newbie questions I Hope someone can answer. I'm rooted and using the pegasus kernal. I looked at the kernal page for my phone and saw that the Matrix Kernal was AOSP only. What does that mean? I was also wondering about modems. Is it safe to flash then with the stock rom, or do you need something else before flashing s modem. Thanks for any advise.

AOSP = Android Open Source Project. So matrix kernel will only work with roms that using AOSP. Example: Cyanogen Mod, Carbon Rom, Pac Man Rom...etc..
Its safe to flash modems using the stock rom. You can do it on AOSP as well.
Thank you
