Google Wallet Can Add Canadian Credit Cards (Decline Problem) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

A recent update to Google Wallet has allowed Canadian credit cards to be added to the app. I just spoofed my address by entering the correct Canadian info and then putting NY as the state. Everything worked! WOO HOO!
I used a mastercard.
You need to use market enabler or something to spoof your carrier as T-Mobile USA though.

Edit: This had never actually worked. Read on in the next page to see where I've mentioned in my testing as to how it failed. I guess Google Wallet is still stateside (and it will stay that way forever).

I tried what you said and it did allow my Mastercard to be "added."
My guess is though it will try and verify your billing address when a purchase is made and deny it ... I mean don't get me wrong I really do hope it works but I am skeptical.
Maybe I will try it at a Tim Horton's later

I changed the address to my Canadian address on the Google Wallet website and it worked. So now the info tied to my account is all Canadian. The billing address is correct so the wallet must work now?

yea its working, but got question?
How to add mastercard in it?
Cuz iin billing address it didn't give option for Canada.Only states address not Canadian.

Ya I managed to add my VISA. Entered my correct info in address and city but used a US state and Zip Code.
Logged into my Google Wallet account online and as OP, my Canadian information is all the same.
Haven't tried purchasing anything yet but will definitely try tomorrow.

But that's with the Google Prepaid Card which had always worked. This is new in that we can potentially use our own Canadian CC based on the new Wallet update.
If anyone is successful, please share.

I just tried google wallet at mcdonalds. Didn't work =( said invalid card data.

It does not work with Bell, same error message. I took some screens in T-Mobile, looks slick.

Has anyone been able to use wallet successfully in Canada with their own Canadian credit card added?

It does not work in Canada. I'll let you know if it works when I go to States with my T-Mobile account. My credit card is released by a Canadian bank with US billing address.

Well I've gotten as far as actually attempting to make a purchase...
Steps I took:
1) Turn on NFC (Duh?)
2) Turn on WiFi (Faster then 3G to complete the process(es))
3) Turn off Data (Probably not required, but meh.)
4) Launch Market Enabler -> Spoof as TMobile
5) Launch Titanium Backup Pro
6) Restore/Un-freeze/thaw out/whatever the Wallet App that came with my gApps install (gapps-4.1.1-Kejar31-20120715.zip)
7) Check Play Store for updates, and installed newest version of Wallet App.
8) Run Wallet App, do the initial setup/adding card
9) Hit a snag when it came to adding my card...I tried to add the same Visa that I had already linked to my Play Store account....but Google noticed ^_^
So I went online to: www.google.ca/wallet via the Chrome Browser on my Phone -> Signed in, deleted my existing Visa card, and went back to the app.
10) Add my Visa card with all correct info (Correct Name/Address Etc) but with Zip Code: 90210, State: CA
11) Hit add, waited like 5m for the app to verify.
12) See attachment ^_^
13) Go back to www.google.ca/wallet and change the Zip/State to match my Canadian info.
14) Stop by Tim Hortons tomorrow and try it out...

I hope it will. My guess is it will not work in Canada, period. I wonder if it works in States with a T-Mobile SIM and a Canadian card. Pretty sure it will not also.

Don't waste your time. I got declined at McDonald's. My regular card worked however. I had failed miserably.

Ah man I was actually excited for it work.

[Q] Uverse App APK

So thanks to @irtehun, we have a working APK file for our Android phones that are not running on At&t. It seems as though to download programs to your phone you may have to at least have the U-300 and possibly internet through At&t as well. Also when you go to log in make sure you use your "att.net" account that you received when you first signed up for Uverse.
Also @irtehun has posted an update page which he will keep updated with the latest version of the Uverse app for us here. Thanks again!

If I understand this correctly, you have to be an actual U-verse TV customer for this app to even work right?
So you have a VZW and AT&T account? Bummer deal for us non-AT&T users... we don't even have u-verse available in our area.

Of Course. There wouldn't be any need for this app unless you actually have Uverse at your home. It allows you to control your DVR programming, check to see what is playing and also watch some downloadable programing from your phone.

Is there any way to keep this thread updated with any new versions of the app/apk?
sorry for the noob question, how do I apply the apk to the phone to get the app to work? do I need to root my Incredible?
I was really hyped to see if this would work on my Moto Droid, but I see I need to have a AT&T account. Is there a way to circumnavigate and get this to work with verizon?
download...apply to sd card and download like you would any 3rd party app...easiest way is to use dropbox. you can download and place the apk to your dropbox (synced to phone of course) and then download from there

you just need to subscribe to u-verse for your TV and internet. I just installed the apk and I'm with TMO and it works great.
put the app on your sd card and install with Astro file manager, or if u use the gmail app just email it to yourself and click install.
you must have AT&T TV service (for it to work) and a DVR (for it to really be worth your while)
any android phone is also obviously required

New way to install official Google Wallet app?

Hey everybody! I was playing around with the Android MWC 2012 app and looking at the Google section, clicking on the booth names and what not.
However, I noticed that when I clicked on the Google Wallet section, it gave me a Market link to download the app. I thought that was weird (Verizon gnex here, so not officially allowed). So I figured what the hell, click it. Gave me an option to use the Market app, clicked on that too.
Low and behold, took me to the market and allowed me to download and install the app! No muss no fuss. Haven't tried to setup any cards yet (visa user, MasterCard/prepaid seems like a bother right now), but it's interesting to see that it worked.
OK, so, info about my phone :
Verizon Galaxy Nexus
On stock Android 4.0.2 (the stock version you get with the WugFresh tool)
Boot loader is LOCKED
Phone is NOT ROOTED
Just curious to see if anyone can do this as well...
Steps to install:
1) Download Android MWC app from the Market
https://market.android.com/details?id=in.phantompa.mwc2012
2) Open the app and click on the "Google Section"
3) Scroll down to the Google Wallet portion, click on it
4) Click on the market icon
5) Select the market app (if you don't already have it setup as default)
6) Install

Yeah, I'm on AOKP 26. Strangely, I noticed that if I go to the web market now, it says my phone is compatible with Wallet. I'm not sure if that's due to the app being installed now or not. The app doesn't even show up when I search the market from my phone, though.
Just tried and getting the old carrier not allowed message. Tried both with the market app intent and browser

Has anyone with a rooted One X tried to install Google Wallet yet?

Now that the device is rooted, has anyone tried installing Google Wallet? Here are some basic instructions on how you should be able to get it working on your device:
1) Install the Wallet apk.
2) Install Market Enabler (download it from the Play Store - it's the one with a green logo that says ME).
3) Open Market Enabler, click on settings list, click and hold T-Mobile US and select fake this provider now.
4) Open the Google Wallet application and set it up. Google will give you $10 to spend on whatever you want upon signing up.
You can find all the necessary files and more details in the Galaxy Nexus thread here.
It'd be great to hear from any rooted One X owners to see if it works.
Doesn't anyone here have a rooted One X?

Same issue for me - Euro One X on Att.

I think the problem is that market enabler don't work though, because when I go into play it doesn't let me download us apps even though I fake t-mobile..
edit, meaning I can't find the app via play, so I had to manually download the apk from here. Also I found google music, but it wouldn't let me download. But at least it works after I installed it manually.

Another One X T-Mo USA user
But no, saddly no Wallet support yet. I'm thinking the app phones Google with your phone and carrier and both need to be on Google's approved list.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Really doesn't make sense to me why the developer (Google in this case) would not release the app to be more compatible with newer phones.
I may not understand it correctly, but it seems to me there should be no carrier involvement other than what AT&T already does. By that I mean block apps and limit the users so they can dictate where we spend our money.
Am I wrong in saying that Google has our card information. The phone has the app and the hardware and it communicates through Near Field Communication to the terminal and then the terminal processes the transaction? Where is the carrier in this loop? Does the app send data over the network to the card processor? I thought it was just the terminal that did all of the processing?
Someone correct me if I am wrong here....
I just installed it, and even though I used Market Enabler to fake my carrier to be T-Mobile US, I installed Wallet and it says 'Not support country/carrier'... Spewing.
BAHAHAHAHA and you all thought going to get free ten bucks
lmao...atleast i did n got burned
The phone itself needs to be added by Google to the devices GW supports. With AT&T being the only place it's available in the U.S., and AT&T not supporting GW, it's doubtful the U.S. One X will ever get GW support. And there's little reason for Google to add support for a device that's not even sold in the U.S. (international version) that only works on a network (AT&T) that's using a different electronic payment system (ISIS).
They just added the Evo to GW yesterday in anticipation of its launch. If the U.S. One X was going to be supported it would have been added at the same time since it's already in people's hands.
Google can't enable GW without the cooperation of the carrier whose network the phone's being used on. The Nexi are the only phones on AT&T's network that they'll carry GW traffic for and that's because they're not AT&T phones (but are sold in the U.S. unlocked).

I found this: http://www.google.com/wallet/where-it-works.html Thats for Google Wallet. But what should I look for when it comes to any NFC device since we can now use any credit/debit card?
Also, if I get Wallet on my S3, is it difficult to change ROMs? Do I have to stay on the ROM I started it with? If so, thats crazy annoying.

I'll reset the app and try it again.
At least I'm glad it works for you guys and just wanted to give the heads up on the new release.

Similar fix, beside clearing the data I uninstalled and reinstalled the update, the VISA popped right away.

Edit: When I tried to open the app it did not find my cards and entering again the info crashed the app. I simply uninstalled and installed again the update, it fixed the issues.

New wallet attached..
Just in case dropbox blocks the link or user deletes it by accident
Thanks all - I download to my VzW GNex. Reset my prior version of Wallet, installed this new one over the old one, and logged in again. It retrieved my card info (1 google wallet virtual card, 2 other "real" cards). Restored my Wallet balance. All seems good. Will try this out soon.
thanks!:good:
Updated with no issues, aside from the annoying unsupported device nag since I am rooted.
i wonder what the changes are...
edit: hoping that application stability means it'll be working in canada now
Works perfectly on stock Verizon GNexus LTE

I did the same method. Downloaded to stock, non-rooted Vzw GNex and reset through the wallet app. Updated from 1.1-R57v5 to the one here 1.5-R79-v5. However I did not any of my cards in the app since my last app was so old it didn't support real cards but it did work with the prepaid card before.
When I went to add my card it kept spinning for a long time while trying to add the card. Well in reality it was just less then four minutes. I just let it go and it finally came back as "Selected Card". The prepaid card balance is missing but i was still on the initial $10 so it does not surprise me either. All in all it was a easy upgrade.
Thanks for posting the upgrade for us verizon folks!

I kind if hope so. I have a U.S. Phone and CC. When I go to Canada it declines the transaction. Gives an insufficient funds error code. Weird.

Yeah...just got it. Guess I have to go out and spend this $10 now... Sure hope that it's just the end of the start up promotion, and doesn't foreshadow any possible closing of the whole program... :cyclops:
