Hey everybody! I was playing around with the Android MWC 2012 app and looking at the Google section, clicking on the booth names and what not.
However, I noticed that when I clicked on the Google Wallet section, it gave me a Market link to download the app. I thought that was weird (Verizon gnex here, so not officially allowed). So I figured what the hell, click it. Gave me an option to use the Market app, clicked on that too.
Low and behold, took me to the market and allowed me to download and install the app! No muss no fuss. Haven't tried to setup any cards yet (visa user, MasterCard/prepaid seems like a bother right now), but it's interesting to see that it worked.
OK, so, info about my phone :
Verizon Galaxy Nexus
On stock Android 4.0.2 (the stock version you get with the WugFresh tool)
Boot loader is LOCKED
Phone is NOT ROOTED
Just curious to see if anyone can do this as well...
Steps to install:
1) Download Android MWC app from the Market
https://market.android.com/details?id=in.phantompa.mwc2012
2) Open the app and click on the "Google Section"
3) Scroll down to the Google Wallet portion, click on it
4) Click on the market icon
5) Select the market app (if you don't already have it setup as default)
6) Install

Well, I dunno about Verizon, but it worked just fine for me on T-Mobile. Thanks for the tip!
Are either of you running a customer rom? I'm on CM9 nightly w/ T-Mobile. App not available for my carrier message, use MarketEnabler to make it appear as US Verizon, app still not available.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

Yeah, I'm on AOKP 26. Strangely, I noticed that if I go to the web market now, it says my phone is compatible with Wallet. I'm not sure if that's due to the app being installed now or not. The app doesn't even show up when I search the market from my phone, though.
Just tried and getting the old carrier not allowed message. Tried both with the market app intent and browser

I presume google are getting the backend servers working for the nexus 7 rollout, so they've got a couple of weeks. I don't expect everything to be fully working until at least then (even assuming there doesn't need to be an updated Jelly Bean, since this build was for google IO not general consumption).
Working a little better for me to, sometimes a command won't work and other times it will. If you notice the download pack for English US is 22mb and every other language (Inc. English uk) are 15mb. This has me to belive that the commands are built into the US pack. As some Google now guides have stated.

sorry, only just seen this, in Google Now settings, set it to use Google.com, also set language of phone to US English, then all the commands work, the cards appear with photos etc.
I had Wallet working perfectly fine using the modded apk file (com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel.apk) on CM9 (4.0.4) but once I moved up to Jelly Bean (4.1) and replaced the default Wallet app, I have some issues. Google Wallet now recognizes my pre-paid card find and authenticates properly, however, when I try to tap and make a payment I get a "payment did not go through" error.
Has anyone else had issues with Wallet on Verizon Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean installed?
It works fine for me... using non-hacked APK, no MarketEnabler, etc...

I have Verizon, not Sprint and it worked 100% fine on 4.0.4. Urthling, are you saying you used the stock Wallet app that comes with Jelly Bean and it worked on a Verizon Nexus?
I mean I can go back to 4.0.4 (CM9) and I'm sure it will work, but i'm not ready to give up Google Now or the new notifications just yet

Unsupported device means that you are rooted and they don't want to hear your crying if some rooted app cleans out your wallet.
It still works. This message isn't new.
Yes. I had the stock wallet app, but when I updated to JB, it re-installed it without any prompt from me. I never downloaded it from the market when I was on ICS... but instead had to sideload it.

No Wallet in my ROM
I flashed the stock ROM from mwalt2, v1.2 this morning and have no wallet app. Is there an sdk or something I can add to it? I'm fairly new to ROMs, and searched the thread on the ROM but found no one having the same problem and I can't post to developer threads yet. I accidentally flashed the GSM jellybean ROM to my Verizon CDMA GNex very very late last night and that one had the wallet app but obviously no mobile data
There is the Google wallet thread where all the updates are pushed and do you have a tibu backup of the app you can just install without data

If I use stock 4.1.1 and stock 4.1.2, I can see and install Photoshop Touch.
Anything other than stock, including using CM10 or AOKP roms, then I can see but cannot install Photoshop Touch with a message saying it is incompatible with my rom.
My solution was to install an old apk of the software (found on the web, any will do). Then, since I actually bought the app, it simply proposed me to update through the Store.

I must be doing something wrong. Attempted the same thing, I'm not rooted nor do I currently wish to be (long story there, I'll leave my Xoom to be the rooted one for now) but as it stands, this did not work for me.
Upon installation on 4.1.2, the market recognized Adobe Proto and Adobe Ideas were installed. I cannot get these to update via the store since they are still seen as incompatible with my Nexus 7. Great...
And I paid for those two.
[edit]
Just had an email response from Google Play regarding the purchase of the app and subsequently being unable to reinstall after a factory reset.
Here is what they wrote:
Hi Stephen,
Thanks for writing back. I do see that you've done a factory data reset. I'm sorry to hear you're still experiencing this issue. Apparently you were able to download the app before but it is correct that the app isn't actually compatible with the Nexus 7.
If you're still not able to find a certain app, please keep in mind apps that aren’t compatible with your device are hidden when you search for them on Google Play. Developers of Android apps can choose to filter devices based on a variety of criteria, including Android OS version, carrier, location, or even screen size. According to our records, Adobe Photoshop Touch is incompatible with your device because it doesn't match the developer's specifications on for the device's screen density.
Because you were able to purchase this app and are now unable to use it, I've gone ahead and filed this refund request on your behalf - you'll receive another email within 14 business days confirming that the request has been processed.
Thanks in advance for your patience, and if you have additional questions or if you don't receive a second email with this confirmation, please let me know.
Regards,
Eddie

I spent two+ hours last night trying to spoof my N7 as various compatible tablets so I could download it, and succeeded only in soft-bricking (fixed by reflashing OTA).
It looks like Google has closed some/all of the loopholes that used to allow you to fool the store. Nothing I tried worked.

A recent update to Google Wallet has allowed Canadian credit cards to be added to the app. I just spoofed my address by entering the correct Canadian info and then putting NY as the state. Everything worked! WOO HOO!

You need to use market enabler or something to spoof your carrier as T-Mobile USA though.

It does not work in Canada. I'll let you know if it works when I go to States with my T-Mobile account. My credit card is released by a Canadian bank with US billing address.
Well I've gotten as far as actually attempting to make a purchase...
Steps I took:
1) Turn on NFC (Duh?)
2) Turn on WiFi (Faster then 3G to complete the process(es))
3) Turn off Data (Probably not required, but meh.)
4) Launch Market Enabler -> Spoof as TMobile
5) Launch Titanium Backup Pro
6) Restore/Un-freeze/thaw out/whatever the Wallet App that came with my gApps install (gapps-4.1.1-Kejar31-20120715.zip)
7) Check Play Store for updates, and installed newest version of Wallet App.
8) Run Wallet App, do the initial setup/adding card
9) Hit a snag when it came to adding my card...I tried to add the same Visa that I had already linked to my Play Store account....but Google noticed ^_^
So I went online to: www.google.ca/wallet via the Chrome Browser on my Phone -> Signed in, deleted my existing Visa card, and went back to the app.
10) Add my Visa card with all correct info (Correct Name/Address Etc) but with Zip Code: 90210, State: CA
11) Hit add, waited like 5m for the app to verify.
12) See attachment ^_^
13) Go back to www.google.ca/wallet and change the Zip/State to match my Canadian info.
14) Stop by Tim Hortons tomorrow and try it out...
I hope it will. My guess is it will not work in Canada, period. I wonder if it works in States with a T-Mobile SIM and a Canadian card. Pretty sure it will not also.
Don't waste your time. I got declined at McDonald's. My regular card worked however. I had failed miserably.
