Are you guys finding the tapatalk app slowing down lagging, and crashing?
It does on my s3
Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 2
Yes. That and the damn back button takes me all the way back to the front page instead of taking me back to the previous folder.
That and the damn pics won't load!

It's a known issue on the SIII. Complain lots and they may release an update

When it slows down on my phone, I kill and restart the app. Not convenient, but it seems to get things moving at a reasonable speed again. Very annoying.

I have noticed this problem as well. I have been running sammy based roms lately and wonder if this is also happening on CM9/CM10/AOKP? Is everyone experiencing this problem running sammy or is this widespread across all gs3 rom variants. Just trying to narrow the problem down.
No issues here. Running aokp cm9

Sometimes when recording a video, there are vertical lines. And, sometimes when I initiate the camera app, there's just a black screen. Any of these issues fixable? Running stock 2.3.6
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Does it do this with other camera apps?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
OP i have the same problem im sending it to samsung for repair
Haven't tried with other apps cause I actually love the stock camera.
I have an HTC Evo and an eee-pad docking station that's currently put for repair..... This issue isn't that much of a deal for me to send back. Guess I'll just deal with it.

Maybe you should try an ICS rom such as stock rooted fe22 and see if the camera still acts up?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Thb.... Kinda nervous to root cause this device could be hard bricked.... Lol. Would rather just wait for the official ics release

I've had a problem when on wifi certain apps won't work, YouTube, sometimes when downloading from Google play. I'm rooted and this happens on custom roms. Any advice or should I just unroot and try again. Thanks
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Might be your rom. I haven't ever had this problem. Are you on your wifi at work? Maybe those sites are blocked by them. What rom and all that are you on
sent from my BAD A$$ Epic touch
Well I can't remember the other rom but I'm on the cm10 right now. Only connected to wifi at home. Was thinking about redoing everything and see if that clears it up. Thanks for the help though never thought about certain things being blocked
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
ET4G S5 Team venum was the other rom

Not sure if any one else has experienced this but touchwiz crashes quite often.
Anyone experienced this problem?
I bought mine from handtec grey version.
Got it replaced in the end so far so good.

No probs

Finally got it replaced with another grey one. Works fine no crashing so must have been defective.

I really hate to start a lag thread, but I am curious if others are experiencing this or if my phone is subpar component wise.
In initially playing with the phone, it was immediately snappy feeling. Everything ran great without stutters or lag input. Then about half way through the first day with it (the 12th of may) I noticed about a 30 fps drop when doing anything. It lasted for maybe 30 seconds the first time. Then I started paying attention and noticed it would do this up to a few times an hour at completely random times. It doesn't matter if I'm in the Web browser or scrolling through home screens (though I tend to see it more often there) I get the random lag.
The rest of the time the phone is extremely satisfying but I can't help feel like this Has to be fixed if it is indeed a software issue.
What I would like is some input from OG Pro owners, both root and non root, to determine if the issue is based on that factor and how widespread the issue is. My first guess is that the cpu is lowering its clock speed and turning off cores at inappropriate times due to kernel settings. My fear is that my hardware is lame and I need to know so I can rma the phone. My absolute worst fear is that this is a software glitch that won't get ironed out because of our locked bootloader and/or slow LG updates.
Please let me know your experiences or if you have something different.

I've tried to make this phone lag by haveing qslide apps open and switching between landscape and portrait and barely got a stutter. I rooted this morning and restored all my apps using titanium backup and with 262 apps installed I havent dropped below 350mb ram free and there is only a touch of lag when apps first open, buttery smooth after that, and this is with quad core control on. It definately sounds like u got a defective device.

Well, that's actually good to hear. I still have a week and a half to exchange it. If like to be sure before exchanging it off course but it should be easy considering I manage an at&t shop
Like I said, I get it totally randomly. Doesn't matter if I have no apps open or a ton open. How long have you had yours for?
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk 2
Picked mine up like 10am friday morning ive been putting this thing through its paces and the only time its really lagged for me is with the quickmemo overlay on with qslide apps running. Gaming, streaming, and multitasking have all been flawless.
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk 2
Flawless for me, had it since friday

Well, it's starting to look like I'm going to exchange it tomorrow then. I've already factory reset it twice now so it's nothing I've done. Especially since I noticed it before I even installed any apps.
This is the first time I've ever swapped a phone because of lag though. I guess maybe the processor or gpu is just acting up?

Before you return it do some more testing. In all honestly it sounds line you have a memory leak. Start freezing apps one by one until the lagging stops. Once the lagging stops restore all your apps except for your last one you froze. Then you know what app has the memory leak

Yeah. Going to do that while at work I suppose. But I recall seeing the stutter before I restored my apps.... I think. Oh well, 265~ apps, here I come.

As a further note, my free ram is usually around 350 - 500 mb. Is this what others are seeing and if I had a memory leak bad enough to cause lag wouldn't I have less ram available? Thanks again guys. I'm no noob but this is the first time I've experienced lag on a brand new phone that no one else was experiencing.

I don't have a pro but for a phone with 2gb of ram 300mb is low but not lie enough to worry. Android is based off of Linux n the more things in the ram is better unlike on Windows when you want as much ram as possible free.
A memory leak doesn't necessarily mean its going to eat up all your ram. There's a front side bus that controls the speed of the RAM. If the fsb is clogged up it's like driving threw a traffic jam on the highway.

That makes perfect sense. I've got way too many apps to freeze them one by one. The problem crops up a few times an hour so it could take me days of constant freezing to solve it. I'll factory restore and leave all apps off. If the issue persists after a reset then I'll try lgnpst then an exchange.
Thanks again for the help.

If you don't experience lag with out your apps installed then you know its one of your apps causing the lag. If the lag is present without your apps start freezing system apps. If it is indeed caused by a memory leak then getting a new phone ain't gonna solve the issue.

It could also be something going rogue and using up all ur cpu time try using watchdog itll let u know if an app is using large percentages of ur cpu unnecessarily.

No lags here at all on mine. Ran stock until yesterday (5/14) but had frozen/disabled almost all of the AT&T apps from day 1.

Doesn't seem to matter the rom, I get text messages 2-3-4 plus times. Sometimes randomly. Ported my number from Verizon nearly a month ago.
Any thoughts? Is extremely frustrating trying to hold text convos.
Currently on wicked V4.

I had this happen to me as well, it's stopped now but I believed it to be rom/ kernel related if neither it's the sender as it's only happened from one person in particular that was running cm on a s2.. I'd do a clean install from wiping everything and going from there

I've had this issue with every touchwiz rom. It's random and sparratic but it could be a T-Mobile issue too I guess
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I should have included that. It happens on touch wiz roms. Haven't tried cm.
Also happens from everyone. Regardless of verizon, att, sprint, tmobile.
So annoying lol. I have reinstalled and tried a few different roms.
Have not tried stock. Phone was rooted and modded the moment I got home from the store.

This sane thing was asked a while back. Has something to do with the port from previous carrier. Mainly from a CDMA carrier (Verizon/sprint). However, it is hit and miss, as I ported from sprint and have had zero issues. Even from all my friends on other networks. And my phone has been on almost every ROM made so far, with a multitude of mix and match kernels.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I didn't see that post. Can you link me or tell me what the fix was?
Is very frustrating. It doesn't happen at first, soon as it does it ramps up until I am getting the same text 10+ times randomly throughout the day.
Which when sending 100 texts on purpose back and forth becomes a nightmare quick.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
It may take me awhile to find it. It wasn't posted like yours. It was a question asked inside a thread totally unrelated, and someone from t mobile chinned in and said they have issues when numbers port sometimes. That it is just a waiting game until resolved.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Crap. Never mind. It was not receiving from other carriers.

I was way off. Are you using go SMS or any other 3 red party messaging app? I have seen it happen with go quite frequently. Of not, we may have to look at APN settings to see if you are using multiple, or maybe your number isn't accepting the message with an acknowledgement right away.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Ahhh gotcha. Don't have that problem.
I did at first. Thought like you did it was at fault. Had to fresh install last night, be the 2nd fresh install without installing go SMS.
Does it with the stock app.
I probably should call Tmo
