Recently flashed [ROM][4.1.1][AOSP] Liquid Smooth - Jelly Bean [Beta1] and can't get past boot screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm on a Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
How long are you waiting? It can sometimes take a few minutes just to get past the Google splash screen.

it sat for about 5 minutes. I took the battery out once, and now it's been there for about 5 more...

I'd let it sit for double that, just to be sure, and/or grab a logcat.

Had to factory reset/wipe cache again and then it worked...
Thanks anyways.
I've had the same issue with every JB Rom I've tried out. It always eventually boots (5 min or so) but it occurs on every reboot. This happened on two other Jelly Bean roms until I flashed one of the stock kernels. Then it would only happen once every 5+ reboots. With the Liquid rom I tried flashing the same stock kernel (Linaro), and it would freeze permanently on the "X" Jelly Bean logo that appears after the google screen. So I went back to the kernel that came with Liquid. I've wiped everything that could be wiped and formatted many times over. I've been reading through the threads here, and it seems like most people only have this issue on the second boot. Anyone else experiencing the hang up every time?
did you wipe before you flashed the rom?
I suggest to flash super wiper before flash ur target rom from android HD revolution everytime you install one different ROM , i never had issue.

I did a clean install of AOSP Vicious Toro V1 and anytime my phone boots up or I restart it....it shows the Google logo for about 2 minutes, then says "android" in small letters in the center of the screen for 20 more seconds then finally shows the launcher.
Can anyone explain this? This is kind of frustrating that my phone takes this long to boot and also I have no idea what happened to new Nexus logo.

What method are you using to install the ROM? What do you mean when you say "clean"? I've installed every version of the Vicious ROMs on my GNex and I haven't had that problem. Also, I haven't seen a boot animation with "Android" on it for a while; you're running the default Vicious kernel?
I wiped data, cache, dalvik, battery stats, formatted system, data, and cache. Flashed V1 from AOSP, then rebooted. It showed the Nexus logo once. Then every time after that it takes about 3 minutes to boot and the nexus logo is gone.
I did another wipe, cache, data, format, etc. Same thing happens

All of the jellybean roms (liquid, jellybamf and now AOSP 4.1.1) I've used do that hang on the Google screen every so often for a few minutes but it always boots. I always wipe cache/dalvik/data so its not because of dirty flashing. Don't think that'll be fixed til OTA
As for your bootanimation just search out the new one on here download it and stick it in system/media with root explorer
**edit HERE
Thanks man! I switched over the boot animation and now it boots in 42 seconds instead of 3 minutes lol. It doesn't hang anymore.

So today my phone died, or something.
I can get it into download mode, and I have put it back on stock and rooted it again, but it won't boot. Everything moves incredibly slow. CWM included. When it's on stock it won't go past the Galaxy S logo (the big S that goes from white/blueish) and when it's on CM10 it won't go past the Cyanogen Mod circle screen.
It also takes about 10 minutes for it to even get to those screens. So maybe it will go past these, but I get too impatient to wait. I guess. Either way, it shouldn't take so long to load. Anyone know what my problem is or how to fix it? Or do I need to get a new phone?

I tried that, i.e. CM10. It just won't boot. I had it trying to boot all night and when I woke up it was still not booted up.
Couldn't post under the Asylum thread so hear goes........ Noob, not enough posts yet it seems.
Rooted Galaxy S3 i747M Telus ..... was working great until flashing Asylum CM10. CWM said it successfully flashed the ROM. However, upon rebooting the phone the normal Samsung stuff came up and the Asylum opening screen begins its thing and just continues to loop. It's been looping for about 3 hours now.......
Any suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

By Asylum I assume you mean the spinning CM10 logo on startup?
It is recommended that you do a FULL backup of your data then a full wipe back to factory settings on your device before upgrading to CM10. Now, if you get into recovery mode, you can do a wipe and that should fix it. Maybe reflash after the wipe.

Well it worked... I guess the phone was in what folks call a boot loop. After the data wipe, the phone booted up as it normally should,
Many thanks.....

No problem! Glad I helped. Sometimes some files can't upgrade properly so that's why it happens as they corrupt.

Bricked (stuck at startup screen where the Jelly guy flies into space) my LG P930 on JellyBam 3.2.0, it was previously running CM10 Stable and I followed the install instructions correctly. I've worked with 3 phones over the past 3 years and this is the first time I've had a brick, can anyone help? Don't even know how to get into recovery mode from here.

That happens to me every time I flash jellybam. Just turn it off by holding the power button and then turn it back on.

Didn't work for me, looks like I'm back to Odin and another ROM
Try this. might help
I stumbled upon the same stone as u did...I tried reflashing Jellybam 3.0.0 many times.. didnt help.. stuck at the Jellybam boot animation..
What did the trick for me is I installed the HO!NO atomic Rom and then flashed the Jellybam.. works like a charm.. only thing I noticed is that after flashing the HO!NO ROM, the baseband version lists as "Unknown" not really a problem as Jellybam is working real smooth...
Would have loved the battery performance to be better though as I was getting better backup on V20C official ICS.. all the best,

Did you ever try pulling the battery and attempting to start the phone again? Like mattman said, every single time I flash JellyBam it boot loops on the initial boot. A battery pull (or just hold the power button for like 15 seconds) and it boots up without incident.

No response, it would be nice if this member would come back to give a clue if he/she is still stuck or what they did to fix the issue so others who may come across this would know what to do?
Yes I did....

Yes, I did remove the battery and tried to boot 3-4 times to no avail.. then installed Ho!Nos HyperSonic and then Jellybam which worked..

The battery solution did not work. Will not get the time to go through the unbricking process, definitely got screwed here oh well.
How long should it take to get past the rotating CM animation? ...I just installed a ROM first time..I guess its trying to install itself..
A newly flashed rom can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes to boot up. It's always different. With that said; I've never had to wait longer than a minute or two unless something went wrong with the flash. But that's my personal experience.
Just be sure to leave the phone be for a few minutes after it's booted up to the Google account setup screen. Gives the phone time to settle in and rebuild dalvik cache. After that, reboot and enjoy.

Generally 2-5 mins...after that wait for ~10 mins after boot to let things happen in background..
If ur phone is not booting in 10 mins then something went wrong during flash...re do clean flash!
Thanks for the reply. Thats what I was afraid of. Looks like Im having it initialize the ROM on my 989..
