Re-enable media audio - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Lately my phone has been disabling media audio after coming back from mute/vibrate. My ring tones and notification return to normal but media audio is disabled not matter how high I se the volume. Is there any setting within the menus that will allow me to re-enable it?

I'm surprised that no one else is coming across this issue. So far only way to fix it is restarting the phone.

Mine was doing that after taking a call while listeningbto music. The fix was play it over the speakers then plug the headphones in or else you couldnt hear anything. Maybe try something similar to that

Anyone experience a popping sound?

Hello, does anyone experience a popping sound when they listen to music or watch videos? It's been happening to me quite frequently, and it seems to happen quite randomly. It also seems to 'pop' when i press the volume down or volume up buttons while watching a video or listening to music.
Anyone else experiencing this? I've determined it's not a problem with the video since I don't get any popping sound when I watch the exact same video on my laptop, and the popping sound doesn't happen at a fixed interval or anything. It also isn't a problem with my earphones as I've tried using the one supplied by HTC as well.
Any help please?
From memory I had this when playing around with dsp manager

I've had this once while browsing YouTube, don't know what caused it but it was annoying.
I rebooted my phone and its not happened since

All the time. I've got a Desire S with Sense 3.5 and that pop's as well.
Wow okay that sucks. Shall try turning off Beats Audio to see if it changes things. Or could it be an inherent HTC problem? Hmm.

Completely lost audio

So has anyone else had this problem? I'm on CM9 and I noticed my alarm didn't go off the other day, or at least I didn't hear it. I've been playing around and I discovered I have no speaker audio at all (phone still works) but Pandora, audio notifications and even touch sounds produce no noise through the speaker. Audio through the headphone jack works fine but speak audio is completely gone. I tried CM10, same problem. Nandroid back to CM9, still no audio. Starting to think maybe a hardware issue? I'm going to try to ODIN back to stock but if that doesn't work I guess its hardware unless anyone else has an idea.
So back to stock EL29 rooted and no speaker audio. SOL?
No ringer either?

My e4gt did the same thing. Hardware issue. Try hitting the phone near the speaker and it'll probably start wprking

Headphones and speaker play at same time

So today I at work and my boss walks over and ask me to turn down my music..... I had my headphones in and did not have it up very loud.
Several min later I get a phone call, a few min in he walks over and asked if I was on a personal call. I said no and the person continued to talk, what I didn't know was all the sound coming through the headphones was also being played on my phone speaker.
No looked it up and many people have the notifications sound problem, but couldn't find one that really had the same problem as me.
No matter what watch on YouTube or listen to in my music player the phone will play the sound on both headphones and speaker.
Any help with this problem guys?

Who's rom are you using? Also try a different pair of headphones. If the jack on your headphones is bent or not connecting correctly it will cause that to happen.
That happens when the headphone jack is not pushed all the way down!

I think you might also want to be sure the Phone is not in "Driving Mode"...
I just had the same problem. I was listening to Google music for a few hours no problem, but one track decided to play threw the speaker and not the headphones. Not sure what happened, I skipped the track and all was good again.

That has happen to me recently, it varies at one point it was when I was using YouTube but it left after I kept plugging headphone jack out and in a couple times try that.

Funny, when I play games and have music playing at the same time I have the same thing happen. Perhaps the next update in May will fix this?

Volume problem with 4.3 and Google Play Music

Weird issue. When I use Google Play Music, the volume is low (and crappy mids and highs are low and bass is really boosted) until I get some sort of notification on my phone and then the volume goes to normal levels. On any other music app, such as Soundcloud, it doesn't experience that problem. I use Google Play Music a lot since I'm subscribe to GPMAA. This didn't happen when we were still on 4.1, only started happening on 4.3. Don't want to do a wipe yet if there is some sort of solution that has already been found. Thanks!
Further info: Full stock and no root
That's funny you say that because the exact opposite happens to me. Sometimes when I'm listening to google play music and I get a notification, the phone gets jacked up super loud and doesn't go back down until after I turn it down manually. Same setup, stock and no root.
But I've done multiple factory resets and this is actually a replacement handset and the same thing happens after I upgraded to 4.3.

Lol my issues are not exactly the same but i have issues. I was running boeffla audio on perseus kernel so I don't know if that's why my audio quality dropped. But my volume lowers randomly also then goes back to normal.

Maybe your super loud is my normal . But yes basically it's the same issue. While on Google Play Music, we both get a low volume until a notification tone comes in then the volume goes up. I was thinking about rooting my phone and installing a kernel that supports Voodoo sound (I had this on my Epic 4G). I've never felt the need to root and run non-stock ROMs since the Note 2 has always been good enough for me in stock form.
I've managed to "trick" my phone by sending an email to myself which triggers the notification tone. But that's kind of nuts to do this on a regular basis. I've been listening to Soundcloud more often now since this issue in Google Play Music is kind of annoying.

[Q] Popping sound comes from speakers when video plays

I am on the latest S3Rx 4.1. When a video plays whether volume is muted or not, the speaker makes popping sounds like when touching the end of a 3.5 mm plug that is connected to powered on speakers. I have changed multiple settings with no fix.
Is only with videos? How about audio only?
Might need to replace the speaker module. I'd Odin back to stock and test first to be sure though.

It does it when I start Play Music as well.
Sounds like the speaker may have a problem. Only way to know for sure is flash stock firmware and test.
If it is, it's very easy to replace and you can find oem replacements for under $10.
