Any good deal on a network unlock code ? + Question - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Wondering if you guys know of any good deal on an unlock code for my t-mobile galaxy s3 ...
I called customer service... they didn't give it to me ... The weird thing about the call was that the IEMI number that was on the back was different than the one that was obtained through *#06# !!! is that normal ?
Thanks >

If your on contract t mobile should have gave you an unlock code. I think your allowed to get one every six months from them. Maybe you just had a bad Rep call again and tell them you are soon traveling to Europe and need your phone unlocked

Thanks for the reply ... I actually am not on a contract with them ... was before i got the S3 ... terminated it and never asked for an unlock code ... when i tried they told me that the phone was not activated on that line ! so they didnt give me an unlock code ...
anyways ... i'm already out of the states ... want to give the phone to my dad ! he's 70 years old ! I would love to see him catch up to the technology of today !

[Q] AT&T Galaxy S3 SIM-Unlock app

http://www.theandroidsoul.com/sim-unlock-galaxy-s3-easily-using-the-app-galaxsim/
This app is from a member on XDA, Spock12, and he says that it works on the international Galaxy S3, GT-I9300, but it might not work on the u.s. varients. I was wondering if there was a way to "port" over this application to work with AT&T?
Why not just call at&t and ask for the code?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
Service providers give you the code when you ask for them? Why would they lock your sim in the first place than?

I bought my GS3 from ATT then 2 days later called and asked them to unlock it and they did. No problems at all for me. Not sure why so many other people are having issues.

Same for me. I bought it then a week later I got on to the online chat w/ AT&T & just asked them for the unlock code. They gave it to me w/ no problems! Took about 5 minutes to get it from the rep.

We did the same for my wife's White SGS3. She really wanted the iphone 5 (tried to talk sense into her but it was of no use...die hard icrap user). So the deal was if she could sell the SGS3 for enough to get the iphone she could. She called, got the unlock code, went to tmobile and borrowed a micro-sim and finished the unlock. I then rooted it, installed SU and Busybox...then we sold it on ebay for almost $700. So now she has an iphone.
Just call ATT and get the code. If they start to give you trouble just tell them you'll be going out of country to Canada for a while as part of your job and want to take your phone and not the crappy business phone most of the time they'll just give it to you along with instructions. If not, call back in a few minutes and get someone different.

Damn. You might wanna log back online again & talk to a different rep. The person that gave me mine didn't ask any questions & even told me that Samsung supplies the unlock codes for all of their devices as soon as you buy it. If I were you, I would try again. You'll eventually get a cool rep that will give it to you.

indeed, just about to update that the int'l care rep gave me a 8-digit code, saying that if I get a foreign micro sim, the device will ask for it and be ready to go. (hopefully no glitches in there..)
Or you could of just searched around here and you would have found the free way to unlock it without having to waste time online. Check this

More efficient than calling.
Been on the phone with tmobile for the whole week. They wont help out. They basically sent me another Note 2 for free without me even asking them and now im stuck. I want to get rid of it, but its still blocked. Got TWO Note 2s for FREE in the same week. But neither work because of the block and bad storms knocking out towers in my area. FRUSTRATED!!!!
That just doesnt sound right to me. Tmobile isnt in the business of sending out free note2 with blocked imei number
...what are you really trying to do?

Didnt ask for the other note, they sent it to me because they tech support guy simply said, "its a paperweight" Now I have an extra note that blocked by tmobile

If T-mobile did not tell me to send the phone back than I would NOT send it back.... It sounds to me like they already know he has the extra phone but don't care, so sell it to someone for parts or whatever they want to do with it..... If you want to keep it then you have no options with T-mobile but you can get it activated on Straight Talk or Simple Mobile cause they don't tend to care or even know if it's disabled by T-mobile... I am NOT promoting fraud but if you are being honest I am giving you an honest answer...
"When you ASSUME you make an ass out of u and me" so let's not assume he is being fraudulent when he just asked a question...

ive been with T mobile for six years they never just sent me a phone and i was allowed to keep the other considering how much this one cost.. They were real anole about me sending back my vibrant a few years back and my sg3 a few months ago... this phone cost about as much as those two combined.. Be careful bro.. you may get a repackaging fee...
Yea to those who feel I'm being dishonest, please read the whole story and don't judge. I never asked for the second phone. Tmobile told me to keep it, quote "its basically a paperweight" they said that not me. Been on the phone with them all week long. They just want me to keep it, trash it, whatever I wanted to do to it.

send first phone back, upon receipt of first phone, it will prove that you are legit. Sorry dude, but your story is really really hard to believe, you most likely will get a bill for that first one.

I actually think the person he sells the phone to will find out its blacklisted, regardless of what carrier its on. At that point the new owner will do one of two things; call the police, or show back up with friends and ensure they get their money back. You have one working note, and an extra one that should be sent back because thats the honest thing to do. Why do you think otherwise. Go troll some of the lesser sites, I dont believe xda is the proper place for you to try and learn how to reprogram an IMEI in order to circumvent t-mobile block on your phone, as its concidered stolen at this point.

If your story is true, I wouldn't send it back... t-mobiles mistake, not yours... if you want to throw it to a dev for dev use shoot me a pm (not for me, but a dev on gsIII that wants one to dev on)

Unlock BULL**** from t-mobile

So I have my GS3 from T-mo on a business plan. And I am briefly traveling overseas and picked up a local sim card here in Austria.
I call t-mo to get my unlock code, and they tell me it will take FOURTEEN DAY to give me the unlock code. The rep also says I can call Samsung to get the code faster. What Bull****.
My IMEI is 353022057717016 / 07. Any idea how to get this done faster?

All you shouldn't post your imei on a public forum.. ..... they say up to 14 days . When I requested one I got it within 48 hours. Its not Tmobile its pretty much the same on all carriers.

By the way my point still stands, for this minute he can use it on prepaid. Oh and based on what you just said

If is activated now he'll be good when they make the switch. I'm not sure where you're trying to go with the besides start a fight you're losing and looking stupid doing at the same time.
