need help with locked phone - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

My wife lost her phone about a month ago and got a new one through insurence.while we wer moving we found her old note 2.i started using it and tmobile locked the phone.ive rooted it and romed it and cant seem to get it unlocked.i took a shoot at getting one of the unlock codes from a web site but it was a scam just like i thought it would be.what do i need to do to get it unlocked.ive also tried by inputing the *#---------- but from what ive seen everbody has a 4th option and i cant ever get it to come up.any thoughts on how to get this done

I think u have to downgrade to another version...but thats all I know...

will not for T-Mobile again unless they unblock it u can unlock it for another GSM. Carrier but will not work for T-Mobile not matter what as it is THE IMEI WHICH IS BLOCKED NOT YOUR PHONE BEING LOCKED.

This confirms exactly what I was saying. I know is coming, but it's not here yet. So for the time being the op can use the phone on prepay. For how long who knows.

Sure....I called too and they said as compensation if your phone ends up blocked they'll give you a new note 4 in place of it.
By the way my point still stands, for this minute he can use it on prepaid. Oh and based on what you just said
"They'll do it on activation of service."
If is activated now he'll be good when they make the switch. I'm not sure where you're trying to go with the besides start a fight you're losing and looking stupid doing at the same time.
And for the record I have at mobile account with an active note I was just trying to help the OP my start a fight not sure why you even jumped in

More efficient than calling.
Been on the phone with tmobile for the whole week. They wont help out. They basically sent me another Note 2 for free without me even asking them and now im stuck. I want to get rid of it, but its still blocked. Got TWO Note 2s for FREE in the same week. But neither work because of the block and bad storms knocking out towers in my area. FRUSTRATED!!!!
That just doesnt sound right to me. Tmobile isnt in the business of sending out free note2 with blocked imei number
...what are you really trying to do?

If T-mobile did not tell me to send the phone back than I would NOT send it back.... It sounds to me like they already know he has the extra phone but don't care, so sell it to someone for parts or whatever they want to do with it..... If you want to keep it then you have no options with T-mobile but you can get it activated on Straight Talk or Simple Mobile cause they don't tend to care or even know if it's disabled by T-mobile... I am NOT promoting fraud but if you are being honest I am giving you an honest answer...
"When you ASSUME you make an ass out of u and me" so let's not assume he is being fraudulent when he just asked a question...

ive been with T mobile for six years they never just sent me a phone and i was allowed to keep the other considering how much this one cost.. They were real anole about me sending back my vibrant a few years back and my sg3 a few months ago... this phone cost about as much as those two combined.. Be careful bro.. you may get a repackaging fee...
Yea to those who feel I'm being dishonest, please read the whole story and don't judge. I never asked for the second phone. Tmobile told me to keep it, quote "its basically a paperweight" they said that not me. Been on the phone with them all week long. They just want me to keep it, trash it, whatever I wanted to do to it.

I actually think the person he sells the phone to will find out its blacklisted, regardless of what carrier its on. At that point the new owner will do one of two things; call the police, or show back up with friends and ensure they get their money back. You have one working note, and an extra one that should be sent back because thats the honest thing to do. Why do you think otherwise. Go troll some of the lesser sites, I dont believe xda is the proper place for you to try and learn how to reprogram an IMEI in order to circumvent t-mobile block on your phone, as its concidered stolen at this point.

If your story is true, I wouldn't send it back... t-mobiles mistake, not yours... if you want to throw it to a dev for dev use shoot me a pm (not for me, but a dev on gsIII that wants one to dev on)

Unlock BULL**** from t-mobile

So I have my GS3 from T-mo on a business plan. And I am briefly traveling overseas and picked up a local sim card here in Austria.
I call t-mo to get my unlock code, and they tell me it will take FOURTEEN DAY to give me the unlock code. The rep also says I can call Samsung to get the code faster. What Bull****.
My IMEI is 353022057717016 / 07. Any idea how to get this done faster?

Wow. So you're complaining about getting it for free. You can buy one but itll cost you and you may still have to wait. All you shouldn't post your imei on a public forum.. ..... they say up to 14 days . When I requested one I got it within 48 hours. Its not Tmobile its pretty much the same on all carriers.

Not to be a wet blanket but if you think for one minute the WH gives a tinker's damn about those petitions, you should start by looking at what's already there with 100k+ sigs. Like every state in the union wanting to secede. On top of that, this was bought and paid for in a negotiation between the carriers and what is, in my view, the finest government money can buy. Look at it this way: if you want to get your phone paid for by someone else, be prepared to accept their conditions. Or spend the $ to get an unlocked version. Or ask the carrier to unlock it. Word is they will if you're current. At the end of the day this really only hurts (US based) unlock code vendors and people trying to buy a ATT phone on ebay to use on TMo's 2G (or similar).

Thanks. Never even thought about this factor. In theory, the LTE phones should never be carrier locked since the LTE is utilizing the 700Mhz band. This means happy unlocking...whatever method I choose. Wonder if AT&T would cave in eventually on this?

Clone note 2

Ok long story short my ex girlfriend got pissed off at me breaking up with her and turned my phone off. Went to tmobile corporate office Store and switched the phone to my account with a prepaid sim card.
Well was told there is a 50/50 percent chance she can still get it blacklisted. So I'm selling it for parts if it does and getting a clone note 2. Question is will it work on tmobile and will I get 4g?

IMO, if it ever get blacklisted, then technically it won't be able to get to work on either at&t or t-mo as it said, they are sharing banned IMEI device. will get 4g or not, depends on which network this phone will be used.
This is what u do, u go back to her all apologetic and saying baby i miss you blah blah blah all while ur getting the phone switched to ur name and all that. Once the deed is done, walk. #guycode

Your first mistake was getting a mobile account with your girlfriend........ you're not married and doesn't seem to serious if that was the cause of the "break up" . Date smart, have your own **** that way can't nobody put you out, cut off your phone, repo your vehicle, etc. . ^_^
