Activesync : sorry ...please try again later.
I browsed few thread but didn't get a fix. Has anyone been able to fix this please. Thanx
Kinda disappointed with a huge slate in hand that dosent work.

Guess everyone is helping solve bigger problems
Saw some post that said to install hotmail app fom the store.
Did that and i am back with my contacs and calender, until the new update or whatever fix comes for the stock activesync app.

Facebook Application problem

Hi all
I've a problem with my integrated facebook applikation from HTC. It shows me every time an "Connection failed"-Error message when i'll login. This Problem occurs with WI-FI and Edge.

I have the exact same problem, I would appreciate a solution
i know this doesn't fix your problem but just to confirm I have no issues on my TP2 so it must be a connection config problem.
Have you gone to settings>connections>connections>advanced and selected the proper networks?
Facebook
Thanks but i have no conection issue I have push mail working fine and RSS hub also updating. i tried over wifi 3g gprs everythingworks exept facebook
Same problem here.

Using a Dutch ROM
i have noticed it has not downloaded the images of all my friends... now irrespective of the fact that it updates status msgs, photos are not downloaded for all.... it pulls some photos of friends down at times.... any way i can sync all the photos too?
ok... let me just answer my own question...
simply delink any one contact and re click link the contact with FB.... this brings the link profiles page up... wait there for sometime till the application downloads all the photos.... that's it... u r done!

I am having the same problem. Got my TP2 today and can't get the Facebook Application or Microsoft MyPhone to communicate. I have the network connections all set correctly and everything preinstalled works fine.
Did someone mention you should untick the proxy server setting??
Anyone find a solution to this yet??? I'm having the same problem.. Thanks!
Don't know if it is a coincidence but after I removed/disabled my facebook login data from Skyfire I didn't get a connection error anymore. I granted Skyfire to be logged in even after closing it and maybe then facebook is locked for other apps.
Solution
I found a solution for my problem with the facebook-connection. It seems the application can't handle my password. It contains the folowing symbols: "?&".
I changed my facebook password to letters & numbers only and now it works.
I found another problem. I have tried this a few times and even did a hard reset to my device.
The facebook Update and Events function crashes Manila.exe everytime if you have 63 contacts linked to facebook contacts. It won't crash it if you have 62 or 64 links but only 63.
To replicate this, all you need to do is:
1. Have 63 contacts linked to facebook profiles.
2. Click update now from People->All People->3rd Tab(person with a clock)->Menu->Update Now.
It will tries to update but it will fail and crash. I had to delete one of my links so it won't crash anymore. More over, I added more links to test if it can't handle more than 62 links but it can.
Really don't understand why it can't handle the number 63. It really pisses me off now that I have to remove a link or I have to find a friend that I can link to on facebook.
Anyway, I thought I will share this with you guys, just in case yours crashes because you have 63 links.
"Facebook Login failed"-Problem solved.
You have to change your Facebook login password to a easier one. It's seems to be a problem, if you use special chars. +:%>)*/+=^ etc. in your password.
Just a question about this: does anybody knows if the application erases existing picstures with the facebook ones ?
I have pics for soem of my friends who are also on facebook and want to keep the oens I have at the moment on my outlook... And dont anna run the risk of running the sync and losing them
Does the app propose to keep the existing ones selectively ?
Hi
I hadn't had any pictures in my Outlook contacts, but the HTC Facebookapp replaced my Windows Live contact images in my adressbook.

[q] htc mail bug? - ota froyo update

Wanted to check if anyone is having problems with the stock HTC MAIL APP after Froyo OTA Update.
I use my Desire for work emailing and usually download my emails to both my Desire and notebook. I'm aware of the previous bug in 2.1 where emails get deleted of the mail server if they are deleted from the phone.
After the OTA update, I am still able to download emails to both my Desire and notebook, but if I "refresh / check for new mail" HTC Mail deletes all previously downloaded emails in my inbox.
I tried K-9 Mail and the same thing happens!
Is there a setting that I'm missing? Appreciate any help!
I was having the same issue, but have resolved it by changing my account settings from POP3 to IMAP.
Hope this helps...
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks, but changing to IMAP (server port 143) didn't help.
Same thing happens. Any other suggestions?
Called the Australian arm of HTC Customer Service and surprisingly got a call back in about an hour. They did some "tests" and now acknowledge the problem and promised to call me back in a few days with a solution. Fingers crossed!
Will post results if successful for others with this problem.
Mail missing
Hi
Having the same problem and changing to IMAP did not help.
This is wery iritating.
omb
Someone from another thread suggested a workaround by setting your native client (outlook) to NOT delete emails from the mail server after it has been downloaded.
This wont' work for me as I have size restrictions on my account.
I've just been forwarding the emails to myself and the emails get stored in my SENT folder. Irritating, I know, but at least I have a copy of it on my phone.
smpt change smtp
"smpt change smtp"
I'm not sure what you mean, could you please elaborate! Thanks.
Any fix on this yet...driving me crazy.
This sucks, I even flashed a rom from Modaco that's totally stock except it has root, did a wipe before and still have the same thing.

After the Froyo update my HTC Mail app can't connnect to my google e-mail, using IMAP. I can still use my dedicated Gmail app for this, it's only the HTC mail app that will not connect.
Spoke with HTC Customer Service earlier, supposedly they're working on a patch to get the mail app working properly. Unfortunately, no indication of when!
I posted this in another thread:
Crap. I have the exact same problem. As soon as you download to your pc from the server the emails are gone. No solution yet? There is a workaround you can go to your native client (outlook) go to advanced setting and check "leave emails on server". Until this is fixed this is all we can do.
Here is a brief tutorial for Outlook 2003:
Under the Delivery section of the Advanced tab, Outlook 2003 lets you define how to handle downloaded and old emails on the mail server.
By default, Outlook 2003 downloads your emails from the server, and in effect deletes them from the server after successful downloads. Without needing access to the mail server itself, you can customize Outlook's email deletion behavior. Outlook 2003 gives you thee options.
Checking the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox instructs Outlook 2003 to leave a copy of your emails on the server indefinitely. You or your System Administrator will then need to delete the emails from the mail server itself.
Complementary options can refine how long, and under what conditions Outlook 2003 should leave a copy of your emails on the mail server; I have mine set to 30 days.
Hmmm...this must not be a very common problem at all. I seached a ton of threads and can't fine any complaints about this. Why the hell is this happening only two a few of us i have no clue???
Wiped data/cache before both rom installs.
Just wiped data/cache/ext and re-installed the third different (1 bone stock rom, 1 stock with ap2sd, one cyanogen fully custom) custom rom. Same problem as before. I've not given up and will hope for a fix in the next update from HTC or a patch.
I've done the same. Tried a few different ROMs and all have the same issue of deleting my INBOX.
I've reverted back to 2.1, pity as I was getting used to 2.2. Can't work without properly functioning mail app.
Will post a solution if and when it is finally available.

[Q] Exchange ActiveSync - Connection socket timeout

I just got the DHD and am pretty stoked it has Exchange ActiveSync. My problem is that it seems to be very unstable and give "connection socket timeout" and is totally unreliable.
I've added and deleted the account twice and it starts out nicely with the Sync. Now my contacts are at 90% and keeps getting this friggin' error!..
I used HD, HD2 previously and never had these exchange sync issues.
Anyone else having these probs with Exchange ActiveSync on DHD?
Yep. Same for me.
I am trying so sync for a month now with no real success
I have tried several workarounds and third party apps (ImproveEmail, Roadsync) but none of them worked well.
I am now back to stock HTC client.
Now emails sync well but calendar is a disaster!
Calendar used to sync 10% of my appointments and was showing SSL error.
Now since I, one more time, deleted account-purged calendar-recreated my account, calendar is not syncing at all (SSL error).
And Logcat is not very helpful.
I spent days on net trying to find fixes or workarounds; many people are complaining, and there is no 'true' fix.
That pisses me off when I see that Windows mobile phone or IPhone can sync with no problem !!!
I too have the same Problem.
Am using touchdown now and its working fine...running on the trial and need to purchase it
Same as you, I had lot of sync problems with Exchange. It was completely unreliable, until I discovered Laurie's blog !
http://laur.ie/blog/2010/09/exchange-2010-sp1-sync-with-android-froyo/
I installed the Google stock 2.2 email apk (as described in the blog) and after few minutes my calendar was fully synchronized and I receive emails in push. That's great
I am not sure that would solve your issue but it is worth trying it.
(make sure to delete the HTC exchange account).
Hope this helps.
I have tried so many different things. It seems that using Moxier Mail is the only thing that seems to work. I've been going back to all the message board posts that I came across to share my solution. I hope it works for you.
Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I find that turning the phone off for 10 minutes and then on again fixes the problem for a while, but it always comes back.
anyone found a solution to tthis yet?
I`ve tried the solution from lauries blog and it worked.
The only thing i' ve changed is that i backed up the whole rom, installed the apk and imediatly opened it.
The program isn' t as handy as the new one but atm it works.
I can confirm that the 2.2 google stock mail APK is working for me too. (solution described above)
I have 4 hotmail accounts and no pb to synchronize them (with push settings). Calendar and Contacts are OK too.
I give you the APK below. You can install it without root like any other APK.
You'll be able to uninstall it also, as the app name isn't the same as the htc mail client.

[Q] HELP - Facebook, Outlook + SMS

Hello,
I have a few problems witm my HTC Touch Pro 2.
The first one is with the facebook app. The original facebook app is not working, as it should. If I turn it on and I want to write a message I get only: Fetching. Or if try send somebody message: 104: Incorect signature. Does anybody know where is the problem?
And I found here on XDA FbTab app. I have now FB in HTC Sense, but when I try to authorizate it, it doesn't work again, because it doesn't receive the Fb Code. This app is made by meltwater.
My second problem with SMS. So, it's not a problem but - I would like to have messages from FB, Email and SMS together. Is it possible to write a message and than chose the service? Some app ..
My next problem is with Outlook synchronization. I have on my PC Microsoft Office 2010 and when I try to set the synchronization in Windows Mobile Center 6.1 I get a message, that Outlook is not probably instaled in my PC. What should I do?
Thank you very much, I hope, that you'll understand

Hotmail sync problem

Hi there,
I have set up hotmail account on my htc one v, but seems I have some problems from day 1.
1. there are errors about failed sync
2. even trying to receive mail manually via standard mail soft I got info about "No new mails" - but I know that there are new mails.
It's my day 1 on htc one v.
I'm using official rom and soft.
I have provided correct account details and password.
any ideas?
m.hotmail.com server is down for almost 3 weeks already. A friend of mine with S3 has same problem.
The workaround is download Hotmail App from Google Play. It works as it has a validation process with a unique no.
well to be honest it sux totally especially a lot of apps are connected with that server -.-
no one is going to fix that? who should I contact about it?
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/hotmail
well seems that I need to wait for that
FIX
I also had problems with the hotmail sync, but today i made an system update and after that i visited hotmail.com with the stock browser.
Then i got the new e-mail notifications.
I hope this fixes your problems too.
