I am new to xda forums and ive searched through the forums to try find solutions to my xperia play r800i problem.
A couple of days ago i rooted it but many things went wrong. but me and a colleague managed to get it back to work..somewhat
Today my phone is restored with Update service program from sony ericsson but still i have issues with it.
After update service program and before that also i couldnt connect to any network, getting message saying "no service" and "Your simcard does not allow connection to this network"
Also everytime i start up my phone i have to choose language. it seems that my phone dont want to save language information i choose.
I tried calling my service provider and they only gave me manual apn settings but since apn settings cant be saved either i cant try that either.
I am sorry in advance if there is a thread with the exact same problem but getting rather desperate
Model: r800i
android version: 2.3.4
build number: 4.0.2.a.0.42
kernel version: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1
baseband version: 8x55A-AAABQMAZM-203028D-56
So is my phone completely broken now or is this something fixable?
Regards.

Havent tried changing kernel, firmware we tried with r800i_4.0.a.2.368_world.
Try to change to a custom Firmware and Kernel to see if its working better. Like Cyanogenmod or somthing like that.

Thats strange, bootloader should not be locked so that you can't unlock it. If so try to see if you can do something with bootloader files

I searched the forums yesterday and found that a guy named Aljendrissimo can fix kind of problem and i sent a message on the forum to him but havent gotten any reply yet, maybe if i wait until he replies and see what he has to say about this?
Ive searched some more now, and found out that i need to use SE tool 2 to unlock my locked bootloader, but before i started all this
issues it was "bootloader unlock allowed: yes" and now after all these issues its no. anyone have good idea why?
You can try on http://unlock-bootloader.com/this page, you might get a faster response.
It doesn't matter if your bootloader appears to be unlockable.

Hi community, as I stated on the title, im having a little problem here with the current 4.3 upgrade on my Note II.
Thing is I upgraded via Odin to 4.3 version; still, my provider service doesnt have the 4,3 upgrade, its only been released to free from fabric phones in my country.(downloaded from sammobile). Shouldnt have been an issue, but after i made the upgrade, my network got blocked. I ve read a lot of threads concerning this issue but still couldnt find a solution.
A link to possible answers would be super appreciated, or something.
Thnx in advance ! Hope i find a way to solve, have EFS saved in pc.
btw IMEI isnt wrong, its not a generic one.
It says : Service State : out of service
My phone number: Unknown
Rest of data seems fine...
Another thing is I sim unlocked the phone when it was at 4.1 to be able to use Movistar on it (via Galaxy S unlock worked) After upgrade network got locked again and asks for simlock code, tried with unlocker again and this time had no luck.. I dont know if the problem here its only that the sim unlock got locked again after the upgrade or what..EDIT: I cant use any of my chips, all of them throw "not registered..etcetc" msg... However this didnt happen when it was at 4.1
EDIT ONCE MORE: I ve been reading around, and seems there is no current way to unlock sim for all companies for note 2 at 4.3 ? Is this correct ? This is frustrating ._.
sry about the double post, anyone can confirm this last thing to me ? Is it correct there is no current way to unlock sim for all companies at 4.3 stage?

I have the same problem, and i found 2 ways to do it :
-either buy an unlock code ( about 25$)
-or downgrade ( if it's possible to 4.1.1, and use the classical way ( with samsung Code)
i hope that someone will suggest another way to do it
@julesarg, have you tried the patched kernel and modem from this thread?

Hello, i have an xperia play which is R800i, it's bootloader unlocked, and should be network unlocked, if i go in that option with brackets like [] Network etc they are all with empty brackets and 0, according to some pages its fully unlocked, but still, i cannot get it to work, i've made several baseband changes, roms, etc,
what could be the problem of the phone? i bought it from someone that i usually buy stuff off, so i "shuld" be sure its not imei locked, but then, even if it was imei locked, would i be able to set a PINfor the SIM card? is there a way to check if there's a SIM card inserted in the phone from android? because i feel like it doesn't read my sim at all.
Please suggestions are welcome i tried everything, thank you
i can pay for a solution if its 100% working

hi,replying cause i have same problem..i unlocked the bootloader with sony offcial method the second i had it in my hands and flashed a custom rom(everything working fine before the flashing..)..oddly i could use data(browser youtube facebook ecc working) but no calls or text..so i relocked bootloader and flashed with seus but nothing to do,same problem data working but no calls or text..then i unlocked again tried some roms, then decided to relock and give a try again with seus..now it won't recognise the sim at all,and NO FASTBOOT,it was working fine before the 2nd flash with seus, and i know for sure it's not an hardware issue...flashed many simlock.ta(changing the name to preset.ta) with flashtools..bot nothing.now i can only flash stock tft, since fastboot is no longer working(so i can't unlock the bootloader for the 3rd time), everytime after first boot it ask to insert sim and reboot, even if it ask for pin if i set it..so it IS reading the sim...the radio is bricked, been searching for 2 weeks now, and no solution found. i contacted alejandrissimo, he said he coul fix broken trim area for 20$, but it isn't answering to my messages anymore..sorry bro it looks like our play it's gone forever as a phone, so far..

I'm 100% sure having a locked boot loader makes accessing fast boot impossible? If you can still flash FTF find one for an ICS Rom and see if that fixes it

thanks for replying, i reflashed with wotan and now i have unlocked bootloader, and can flash but the problem on 3g stiil exist. i'm on superjellybean8, and sometimes it will lose the signal on 3g(but data fully working) i get emergency call only,i can browse and other data task like facebook etc, but no call or text, so i turn airplane mode on off until it gets the signal(wich sometimes is very very painful and slow..). i usually get no problem on 2g..so may i start thinking it could be hardware problem on the 3g antenna or something? i've been using it for a couple month now,if i could get rid of the 3g problem it would be great..it makes me miss some important calls you know..

Won't you mind if I join this thread?
I've got r800i unlocked from aliexpress which was working fine but had non-working touch-sticks.
So I tried to flash newer firmware (.79) and end up with 'no service' problem.
Like OP I have "[] Network 0" so it's definitley not become locked but it doesn't see my provider.
The funny thing is that it does see one of the local providers but only one of three.
Tried different ftf's, currently on R800i_4.0.2.A.0.84_Vodafone DE_(1247-8566).
The only thing I know from the original firmware (from flashtool) is:
Current device : R800i - CB5A1D6HYX - 1247-6268_R8D - 1245-8821_4.0.2.A.0.42 - WORLD-1-8_4.0.2.A.0.42
As I understand this one had Meteor IE baseband.
Is this problem has something with firmware or could it be antenna/hardware problem?

If you are trying to unlock it, I believe firmware M15020e or M15020d can be unlocked for like 2.00 (via ebay)
the newer firmwares L, M etc.. cannot.
Your firmware will be listed on the box or in settings/about phone info
If you have the newer firmware, you could possibly "downgrade" to the m15020 d or e version.

By now downgrade is the best solution to unlock this device with M15020L/M/N firmware. If someone with the older firmware (E,D) that actually can be unlocked, pls submit it so we can downgrade, even when we'll still need a method to do so, cause there's no LGUP DLL for this model yet.

Hi All,
I have Samsung S9 Unlocked T-mobile from US and currently in India. Currently i have Oreo Version.
As all know, it doesnt have VOLTE option enabled which is needed for my sim network for voice calls to go through.
Somewhere i read Pie update will have VOLTE option and hence i am trying to update to Pie update.
I downloaded G960USQS6CSGB firmware for T-mobile, but before upating firmware using Odin, i got doubt if it will stick to T Mobile after update. This will make my phone not usable in India.
I tried to check online, but couldnt get direct answer and hence posting in new thread.
Can someone help clarify if it will lock the mobile to T-Mobile or will the phone be still in unlocked state?
Also i see two CSC files in the firmware folder. CSC and HOME_CSC. Which one to use?
If I should update with some other firmware for being unlocked and yet to get PIE update, please point to required firmware name or links.
Also will updating to PIE update will have VOLTE option ? Kindly confirm.
Thanks in Advance.

the firmware version you posted has the 6th bootloader revision, im betting here is a 7th available for your phone, but the 6th version should be fine as well
as far as the unlocked state of the phone goes, it shouldnt re-lock, but im paranoid lol. Have you looked into the U1 versions of the phones firmware? Theyre inherently unlocked firmwares and dont have any of that irritating bloatware **** in them

if it has no financial obligation to any carrier and the phone locks to that carrier, then the carrier it locked to would be required to release it. I cant imagine how it would lock to t-mob tho
Factory unlocked phones stay unlocked, no matter what firmware you flash.
Carrier locked phones that were properly unlocked by the carrier (they provide the code to SIM unlock the phone) will stay unlocked, again, no matter what firmware you flash to it - as long as it's compatible. Flashing the wrong firmware may just brick the phone. But, at least it's still SIM unlocked.
Phones that had some kind of software hack installed to trick the phone into thinking it's unlocked will lose the unlock status when you flash a firmware that also wipes the phone. Then it will come back as carrier locked again, because the hack is gone.
That last case is the only case I know of that will "re-lock" a phone. I've never heard of a carrier unlocked phone spontaneously re-locking under any circumstance.
Hi,
Thanks for the details. I tried to flash G960U1UES6CSG4_G960U1OYM6CSG4_XAA firmware. But while loading AP file in ODIN, it gave some error. Couldnt understand what is the error as its in chinese.
Then i loaded G960USQS6CSGB_G960UOYN6CSGB_TMB firmware which i downloaded previously. This got loaded in ODIN without any issues. And i am able to flash to phone. On rebooting, saw that phone moved to Pie version.
But i couldnt find VOLTE option (Enhanced calling) option. Does anyone know which version will enable that option?
Or anyother way to enable that please.
Thanks in advance.

if your Odin error messages are in Chinese, youve obtained a modified version. Itll probably work, but youll get that Chinese stuff whenever it needs to tell you anything. I dont know which versions have volte tbh. Sorry man.

yeah, sort of. The CSC's on these things are weird. Im starting to believe that these new versions of android are just like windows ISOs where they have all the versions compressed into one file and it uses a directory file to tell the firmware which version to install. Im sure a code writing dev can confirm or deny this thought, but at this point its merely a weak theory
