ClockworkMod recovery was installed but due to unknown reason I cannot boot into recovery. When I try to get into recovery the phone gets stuck at HTC boot screen.
Did you try reflashing the recovery?

That's what I would have asked, too.
Look here for files (search, where it says "6: Custom Recoveries"). I've always done it by following method: "3) Via PC49IMG.zip Process (Needs S-OFF) - Download anyone of the PC49IMG ZIP file of the recovery you wish to install, place on your SDcard, and reboot into HBoot Mode ..."
' Well, when I've run ruu's on my phone. It never touched the bootloader because it was newer than the one in the ruu. So after that I just flashed cwm and a superuser zip and carried on as normal
EDIT: Also, can you get into recovery through hboot?

right. But as a hint: if you do it with method 3) and you want to go into recovery with Fastboot after flashing a new one - you have to get the PC49IMG.zip out of the SDCARD's root first (e.g. connect to USB or put the card into a card reader to remove it)
I flashed the shipped ROM and I am glad that it didn't remove S-OFF. After that I rooted my device using SuperOneClick. Thinking of staying with this ROM for a while before reflashing ClockWorkMod. Thanks a lot guys for your help.

Sorry for the question, this must get asked a million times but I can't find any clear instructions when searching. I want to update my hboot to .92 but I'm not sure how to do it. Do I just flash the zip from clockworkmod or is there some other way to do it?

all you have to do is
1.download this http://adrynalyne.us/?p=55(if you dont have it already)
2. make sure to rename it PB31IMG.ZIP
3 put on Sd card (in no folders)
4. reboot to hboot (hboot will see the update)
4.1. volume up to yes.
5.make sure hboot says the new version.
6. delete the PB31IMG.ZIP from your sd card
thats it
Just make sure to do a nandroid this will delete your kernel or Rom

After updating my HBoot from 0.76.2000 to 0.97.0000, NAND is now showing as S-On in the boot loader. Is this supposed to happen? Do I need to go through the NAND-unlock steps again?
Thanks in advance.

Alrighty, I'll look into that. Thanks.
The kicker is, i lost root on my phone... no Recovery.. i can get into HBoot...
My phone is always stuck on reboot loop.. theres a few odd times where it makes it into OS but then reboots again.
So I was going to my old files and noticed that I still have my Nandroid backup, so if i put this back onto my phone, will it be saved?
I cant even get it too root without the phone rebooting..
What root method did you use? What hboot do you have? Are you still s-off? What were you running prior to this happening like rom ect ? Have you tried a RUU yet? This type of information can help people try to figure out how to fix it

Since revolutionary only requires the phone to be in fastboot to s-off it. Plug your phone into your computer install the required drivers and run revolutionary program it should read your device and precede from there by typing your beta key from the website and installing a recovery from the revolutionary program. Then wipe and flash a custom rom

Do I need to install the Android SDK
I think you do, I believe most root methods use a combination of adb and fastboot. After you install it, make sure you're running the root method from the same directory as adb.exe and fastboot.exe are in (should be platform-tools).
i have places the adb.exe and fastboot.exe in the same directory as revolutionary but it still waiting for device...

Can you access your sdcard? Because if you can download a recovery and rename it PC36100.ZIP and put it on the root of your sdcard. When you go to your bootloader just go into the menu with the recovery option (Cant remeber atm) and it should come up asking you if you want to update the file. Press whatever button it asks you to press then you should get recovery

this may be a stupid question but did I need to do anything with the vhwk files like I did on my first dinc2? I never used those files this time because I was thinking the process was different with the taco root method.
If you've gone through Tacoroot and Revolutionary (which it appears you have) and have installed CWM, you still need to install SU. You can't select Recovery from HBoot? You may need to move the P32IMG.zip files from the root of your SD card and reboot. It should allow you into Recovery to flash SU.

Hi,
I would like to return to the stock ROM on my Desire. Problem is, I don't know which RUU to get. At the moment I am using CyanogenMod 7.
Did some digging and found the app called CID Getter. If there is any info there I must provide, please tell me.
Also is there anything special to be done with the RUU or do I install it as I do any rom?
Thank you.

Would doing this remove s-off or clockwork or anything else? Or could I just re instal another custom after?
It will remove everything. You can use revolutionary after you install a custom recovery and s-off.
This is the kernel, albeit you'll have a hard time achieving what you told and it will net you virtually no gain because poor cpu is not the main drawback this phone has.

Hi,
I got a DHD from my coworker. It hangs on a CM7 bootscreen after his son tried to install CM.
As he said I could keep it I thought I would give the repair a try.
I read on the forums but I am not sure atm on how to proceed.
When I start it while holding VOlume down it I see
Code:
*** UNLOCKED ***

MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.14.04.28_M
eMMC-boot

ClockworkMod 5.8 is installed but I cant mount anything. E: Can't mount /sdcard/
Could somebody advise me what the easiest way would be to make the DHD usable again?
Thanks,
Kiesel
I don't know what he did to it, but flashing a ROM in recovery without flashing the kernel in fastboot on an S-On device will make it hang on boot. Either flash the CM7 kernel in fastboot or do both steps with a new ROM.
thanks, that was my first thought but I didnt want to make the situation any worse. Will that work even if CWM says it cant mount /sdcard?
I would try flashing the kernel of the existing CM7 ROM in fastboot first. If that doesn't work, figure out the SD card mount. You could try another recovery.
I flashed the boot.img, thats what you meant, isnt it? Thats at least what I saw in other threads I read. Didnt work out though. I will read about over recovery mods and then try those.

CyanogenMod ROM is just a option. You can install what ever ROM you want.
Did you try: format the cache, data and system partitions, wipe the Dalvik cache?

Yeah, flash the boot.img from fastboot. If that doesn't work try another recovery; maybe another recovery will mount the sdcard properly. (I find that easier than trying to fix a specific problem because I'm lazy.) 4ext and TWRP are good options.
You need to mount the sdcard to flash an entire ROM from the recovery. You could also unzip a ROM and flash the partitions individually from fastboot, but I'd do that as a last resort.
I tried TWRP but it had the same problem. Ext4 is next.
I also heard about using a RUU. would that maybe work?

No, because you will get error 140. You can't use ruu on unlocked phone.
Only thing you can do with ruu is that you can use stock rom.zip from it and flash it from sdcard or via fastboot.
If you flash it from sdcard, you must rename it to PD98IMG.zip
Sory for my bad english.
