Hi
I have flashed CWM v5.8.4.0 as boot.img and can not access the fastboot menu now to reflash the correct .img. can anyone help
I've been looking but cant find anything pointing me into the right direction
If I leave the phone to boot without holding down any buttons it boots into CWM v5.8.4.0
Then when I go into advanced then select reboot recovery it boots CWM v5.8.3.1
When I hold down the vol button it still boots into CWM v5.8.4.0
Please help and I really hope I have not bricked my phone :crying:
Many Thanks.
Isn't it possible to just flash a new boot.img and install a custom rom?

hi, I recently rooted my one x and had it been working perfectly, until... I flashed cm9 wit galxy s3 addon pack which works well, but now I cannot boot into recovery to restore my nandroid or change roms.
basicly when I try to boot into recovery it flashes with some script with the rommanager logo then boots into cm9
so could you kind folks either suggest how to get into recovery, or tell me how to flash a rom on my sd card or my nandroid through fastboot thanks!
any help would be much appreciated!

I guess your first option should be to flash the RECOVERY again through fastboot and also erase cache. Then try to get into recovery again. Maybe you can also try the app called "quickboot" from the market and try to get to recovery from there.
So first go to fastboot and
1) fastboot flash recovery "name of recovery".img
2) fastboot erase cache
and then WITHOUT booting the rom try to get to recovery through bootloader
I have successfully unlocked the bootloader. I flashed the cwm recovery by fastboot with the proper command and the command executed fine. I also erased the cache with fastboot. But when I select recovery from the hboot menu it gets stuck on to screen with the HTC logo with following text in red "this build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside of htc without written permission". I cannot access the cwm menu.
I tried the twrp recovery too but no avail. The same screen comes up.
I searched a bit and found that some have faced the same issue with HTC ONE X and had their problem solved by flashing an interim unofficial cwm built for their device. But I can't find any such interim cwm recovery for HTC ONE V.
Please help.

fastboot flash recovery nameoftherecovery.img
In my case it was fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Nothing wrong on my side. This is not my first time.
And the commands executed without any error.
I even relocked the bootloader and unlocked it again. But, still the problem persists.

If you take a ruu and remove the Rom.zip and from that take the recovery.img and flash that, does the phone boot into the stock recovery?

Hi Guys,
I got into a bit trouble with my Hongkong version one x and hope someone can point me to the right direction.
I was trying to flash the cyanogenmod stable rom by following instructions provided on their website. I have unlocked my phone and have found that it's actually an s-off version as well.
The first step I took is to extract the boot.img from the installer zip and run fastboot flash boot boot.img from fastboot mode. This all went well. However, when I was trying to copy the zip file using the adb push YOURROMZIP.zip /sdcard/ command, I got the no device found error. And my phone is stuck at HTC logo.
With the guidance of Thant, I have tried Clockworkmod 5.8.2.7 recovery and Philz recovery, but I got the same error when I tried to ADB side load rom in both recoverys.
Now I am totaly stuck. Does anyone know the boot.img in cyanogenmod stable rom contain, Kernal I assume? Is there anyway that I can flash the kernal of my old rom so I can at least get in Android?

Problem solved, all the thanks go to Thant.
Flashed philz recovery 5.15.9, mount sd card, copy rom to sd card, flash again latest Philz and flash the rom.
---------------------
The photos are not available...also try in fastboot fastboot erase cache and try again to boot into recovery...just hold power button and volume -
And if command writing failed try another recovery and which hboot do you have?

I have managed to flashed CM 11 recovery. tried TWRP 2.7 but touch screen doesn't work.
Now the problem that I am facing is to copy the zip file to SD card.
Tried using the fastboot push command but return the error device is not found. My Hboot version is 1.73.
Do you mind posing a link to the driver? I am using the latest driver in HTC sync manager.

The flash was successful and I have entered the PhilZ recovery. Very nice interface.
Now back to fastboot, the screen shows FASTBOOT USB, which means it connected but when I run fastboot devices I got nothing, yet I can still flash any recovery I like. I am wondering if I can download the HongKong rom recovery anywhere so I can get into android and repeat the whole process.

From a cold start, holding Volume up + Power doesn't put you into recovery?
G'day guys,
I tried to install the CM 11 Rom on my phone (HTC One X 2012 international model), i unlocked the bootloader on the Htcdev site, rooted the phone successfully,
then i rebooted in recovery using ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.4.0, made a back-up rom then wipe data/factory reset and installed CM 11 rom (cm-11-20140804-SNAPSHOT-M9-endeavoru.zip) and
it came up with Status 7 error and install aborted.....and now it's stuck in a boot loop, when i reboot it boots back into the Clockwork Mod recovery
I tried turning it off and restarting, i've ran the battery down but it still reboots in cwm recovery...
Is there anyway to fix this or have i stuffed my phone?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Too old recovery you must to use TWRP6.0.1 or higer to be able to install CM11 becouse is KitKat based rom read the OP in CM11 thread and download correct TWRP or CWM. Try with this CWM6.0.4.8
Thanks, I downloaded the CWM 6.0.4.8 like you said, now i have to try and get it out of the boot loop, I've tried about 6 different sites and their methods to fix it but none of them have worked, its still stuck in recovery mode.
My phone doesnt even register when i plug it into my pc either.
Is there any advice you can give to help with this?

Tried to flash boot.img, pressed enter and it stayed on "waiting on device".
Got into bootloader on phone and even tried a factory reset and got nowhere.
Everytime i selected an option in bootloader ie. fastboot, recovery, it just reboots into recovery.
