How to mod CM9 transferent background? - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

I mean how to do this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1581012
Please Teach me

It is for the Galaxy Ace, so I'd recommend creating a nandroid backup before doing anything else.
You need: CWM Recovery & common sense
1. Restart in recovery
2. Mount system [Mounts and storage]
3. Install zip from sdcard, select downloaded zip
4. Test
If it doesn't work, restore backup

Oh, sorry. I'm pretty sure it's locating the PNG's, and editing them to make them transparent. I'm not sure tho, I don't even know if android uses png's and where they are located.

Custom transition animations!! (REQUIRES ROOT)

okay so i dont really like sense's transition animations so i started searching for some new ones and came up with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920024
decided to share it with the G2/DZ community cause i know some of you guys dont like sense transitions either
im using virtous unity, i dont see why it woudnt work on any other rom
REMEMBER TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE DOING THIS just so if you want the original transitions back or if anything goes wrong or if your rom is not compatible etc
i recommend using the metamorph method, its way easier
for those who arent familiar with metamorph u can dl it for free on the market and do the following:
1-download the transition youd like from here :
https://bitly.com/bundles/haxzamatic/1?preview=1
2-place the zip in the root of the sdcard (or any other folder you want)
3-open metamorph and select Unzip/Extract new theme
4-go to the root of your sdcard or the folder you made and select the zip
metamorph will extract the zip and a new window will pop up select close (pretty much your only choice)
5- tap where it says SubTheme: framework-res.apk
Located in /system/framework/
(Requires Reboot)
your device will reboot and there you have it new transitions!!
im using the fold ones myself and they look amazing!!
awesme.thanks
nice work. thanks

I tried this action but it did not work. I also think it screwed with the backlight on my keyboard? I realize this should happen but that is only thing I can think of that would have done it. Is there any way to reverse this?

if you restored your backup its like if you never tried this on your phone, so its something you did before or it can be due to the ROM youre using

What are you talking about? You just install S2E, move dalvik cache, and reboot so the changes can take effect. That's all there is to the process.

[Q] How to install apps at cwm?

How to install apps at cwm?
When I install new rom, I have some apps to install, but I should install file utility app first.
if possible, please let me know how to install apps at cwm.
Thanks in advance.
Well gapps is exactly the same as installing the rom, if it a general app then why would you do it through cwm? If its on your SD then download a file manager and install through there, make sure you have unknown sources checked in settings as well

you mean flashable zip? just choose "install zip from sd card" like you choose zip for ROM
Are you trying to say each time you flash a Rom you want an automatic way of installing your applications after?
You could just make an 'update.zip' that contain your applications.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
if you want your app included in your rom.
you can extract the rom.
and pick your app to "system/app/" after that zip your rom like before.
and then flash the zip via CWM.

Does your comment mean simply making apps into zip file?
app1, app2, app3, .. -> 7zip -> apps.zip

A simple way to create an update.zip is with e.g.: Titanium BackUp. It has an option for it. Just pick all apps you want and it creates a flashable zip file.

edit: I just realized I gave you "false info", TB only creates update.zip, which only contains Titanium BackUp app... sooory...

Yes, manually delete the files that the update.zip installed, of course you would then have to replace the originals if it replaced any. Best thing is to create a backup before installing.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
Or just install any backup app from market like (my backup) and backup your apps. then just restore backup you made when flash new rom.

Can't Find Backup

Did a backup with CWM but it will not work. MD5 mismatch and no clue what to do. Backup to internal does not work. Everytime I wipe data and cashe it creates a "0" folder and moves everything back. Please help....
Where can I find the original rom so I can start all over again?

Original as you mean stock? CWM isn't that good it's outdated to me. Go to the play store and download "Goo Manager" open it click your menu button and click "OpenRecovery Script" then follow the basic instructions. Then try your backup and report back here and post the results please.

I'm not sure if that will help as the backups for twrp and cwm are different.
OP you may have to start fresh if you want to install stock build on your phone, if that's what you backed up.

That wont work unfortunately, TWRP and CWM store backups in different formats
@OP, you can go to Advanced > Disable MD5 checking (or disable verification) something like that and try to flash it. However I would recommend making a backup of your current setup because your old backup might just be corrupted

Haha ok just clarifying, because from what you said it seemed like "restore your CWM backup through TWRP"
But yeah, for this device I would recommend using TWRP, CWM is good for most devices but not this one....TWRP is where its at

Don't do that! Did the same mistake! Let me guess, you tried flashing a 10.1 ROM? Well here is how to fix it. First, flash any ROM you have on your SD card. (Not the 10.1 again) 2. Use a file manager. I prefer ES File explorer. 3. Move all files except "android" up to your folder where 0 is. That includes your clockwork mod folder in side 0. By doing this, you can restore it. Hope that helps!

For these you have to use winrar or win7 to open the ROM zip file you want to put them in. Then go to system>apps>system ui>res>drawable xhdpi, then be sure they match the current files you have in your ROM, drag them over to that ROM, then say yes to archive it and close it down. I always rename it with a letter at the end so I don't get confused, but that's optional. Then put it on your SD card, go into recovery, DO A NANDROID BACKUP of your current ROM,wipe dalvik and cache. If your using the same ROM you can flash without a full wipe. That's it.
