[Q] CPU freq on Arc S with CM9 - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have CM9 FXP130 on FXP128 kernel on my Arc S.
When I go to setting -> performance, max cpu freq is set to 1024 MHz.
This is probably because the rom is meant for Xperia Arc and not Arc S.
Since the Arc S processor is 1,4GHz, can I make an adjustment to work on this frequency?
To add, I mean this on permanent basis, because when i reboot, it comes down to 1Ghz again.Maybe even setting it up to 1.8GHz?
Is there any other setting in CM9 that is set for Arc, and can be upgraded to match the default performance of Arc S?

Set the max CPU to 1.4 and check the "Set on boot" option. Then it will remember the setting until you wipe the device.

oh ok, got it i misinterpreted the text below that as "to return to original setting after boot" (in this case 1024MHz)
Thanks

[Q] Defy cm7 with cpu 1000MHz ???

cm7 said its default cpu speed is set at 1000mhz.. but when i use quadrant standrad/ quick system info to check my cpu range, it shows that my cpu is at 800MHz.. I have checked my settings both in the cyanogen settings and the boot menu.. i am choose 1000MHz .. but the cpu is still stick at 800MHz.. How can i turn it to 1000MHz, may i use setvsel ??
anyone help??
during bootup, press volume down key when you see the LED in "Blue". You can find a Overclock menu, adjust accordingly.
I notice Milestone OC, n SetVSel doesn't save settings on CM7-Defy
i have try that.. but the setting in bootmenu did not really apply ...
no matter i press set default or save..
Hi,
I'm using cm7-110615-1323-BOOT177-Jordan.zip and everything works as it should.
I'm using the widget called "Temp+CPU V2" from the Market and it showes clocks between 300 and 1000 MHz. CPU-load, Temp and used RAM also works fine.
Make sure you don't have your middle frequency set to 800. For some reason that was causing me similar problems, but all has been good since I changed the middle freq to 790...

It doesnt work..my cpu and battery vsel setting still at the stock value.. which is 33/300,48/600,58,800
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
When I look at system settings it shows the following
Current (300-1000)
Min (300)
Max (800)
Min is 300, Max is 800. However current has been 300 - 1000. So this measures the current setting and it can be higher than the 'max'.
Try another tool to measure your cpu freq, setvesl has a decent one.

setcpu settings se xperia arc s

Using setcpu for sony ericsson xperia arc s
You must be rooted, to do so check this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25782287#post25782287 and your kernel must support this if it doesn’t, go to my page on flashing a custom kernel here:

setting up your main profile: here is my setup but you may want to try different settings, when doing so make sure the SET ON BOOT CHECKBOX IS UNCHECKED.

powersave bias: will set the cpu to lower frequencies, lower the better performance
ignore nice load:decides wether the cpu process is scaled up or down and ignores NICE loads
up threshold:the % of cpu usage that causes the cpu to go to a higher frequency, the lower the better
sampling rate:refers to how often the program checks the cpu speed and load to see if it needs to improve, reduce performance, the higher the number the faster it checks
these are my settings and are stable
please hit the thanks box if you found this usefull, have a nice day Andy

[Q] Will LT15i Custom ROMS work with LT18i?

I want to install CyanogenMod 7.2 for my Xperia Arc S
-Version 2.3.4 Gingerbread (NOT ICS)
-Model Number LT18i
-Build 4.0.2.a.0.42
But i dont know if the LT15i CyanogenMod ROMS will work with my LT18i Arc S
does anyone have a answer to my question cause i dislike the stock ROM of the Xperia Arc S ..(you can play around with it)
Uhhh, the CM7 is avalibe for arc s.
It will work to flash a lt15 to lt18. The only thing is that your internal memory will decrease with 40 mb and cpu clock will drop to 1ghz.
Typed down from the sky with sexy LT15i
cant you overclock it back to 1.4 Ghz or maybe 2Ghz??
And is their settings in CM7 where you can adjust the CPU ?

u can always underclock a cpu..just download apps like nofrills or setCPU,etc from google play and set your desired frequency
underclock?
underclock means reducing the cpu frequency..like from 1.4Ghz to 1.2Ghz to save some battery
Overclocking?
So, finally there is a way to overclock? Underclocking would not make sense in this context.
Someone already put Cyanogenmod on his Arc S? Would be great!
If it works, someone probably should update the CM-Website because for now, it looks like it does not work..
Greetings, spectas!

setcpu, system tuner - google search of the same question would of found some of these answers
Heck, if you're running CM10, I don't think you even need a third party utility. Just go to your system Settings, scroll all the way to the bottom for Performance, go into the Processor option. From there you can change the governor, as well as both max and min CPU frequencies. Set what you want, check Set on boot, and you're done.

[Q] Undervolt, setCPU, and DoomKernel v14

Hi guys. I'm using DoomKernel v14, so far so good.
I install setCPU and set a couple of profiles, but when I went to undervolt there was no undervolt tab on set CPU. To handle this, I install SetXperia but when I activate setCPU profiles on boot my Xperia PLAY crashed and reboot soon after boot. So, I guess I should NOT use setCPU and SetXperia at same time, problem is I need to undervolt my PLAY so I can squeeze more power from battery.
I read the documentation (well, sort of...) in SetCPU webpage and it states "The Voltages tab is only available with some custom kernels and devices. If the Voltages tab is available, it will automatically show up between the Governor and Profiles tabs. Otherwise, the Voltages tab is unavailable.".
Now my question is: Why SetCPU is not allowing me undervolt when is obvious that DoomKernel v14 allows this (SetXperia allow me to undervolt after all)?, more important, how do I fix it?, if I change to Lupus kernel will I be able to undervolt with SetCPU (will the undervolt tab be enable in SetCPU)?
Thanks.
Ok, I just install Lupus kernel and still there is no undervolt options in SetCPU.
I'm open to suggestions.
SetXperia can modify your voltages: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SetXperia.Inteks.org
It works with both Doomkernel and Lupus.

Yeah, problem is, with SetXperia I can't set dynamic profiles like in SetCPU...
