Hi first off I want to say I searched but I couldn't find anything near relevant. I am currently on vicious jb rom for Toro whenever I open nova 3 it instantly force closes I have already downloaded the game files and I am way past my 15 minute refund policy. I understand that is currently not supported but is there any way to get it to work? I have seen others mess with the build prop to allow there unsupported phone to use the app I was wondering if you could do something similar here.

For some reason when I try to install Draw Something it is grayed out and says not compatible. I know others have the app on their phones so I don't understand why I can't install it. I was able to side load it and it runs fine but I'd rather have it from the market so I can get the updates. Has anyone been able to load this from Market on a CDMA from Verizon?
Haven't had the issue. Are you stock or running a rom? I have had it show up find on stock bamf and aokp.

I was on AOKP B28. I just flashed the latest CM9 nightly and it lets me install from market now.
Yah it's something the build.prop on AOKP that doesn't allow you to install certain apps. Weird.
Works perfectly fine for me.
Working fine with ARHD 3.0.0, se def. it's something about AOKP
BTW, whoever wants to play can start a game with me, my username is migatohacemiau
works fine for me on aokp.

hi guys
how is draw something working for you? For me, I have a lot of problems. For example: After I finished drawing the ads show up. Then - sometimes - the app closes (just returns to homescreen) and when I relaunch the app, it seems that my drawing got ignored and I have to draw again.... this is very very annoying...

That happened to me also, I bought the app and problem solved
I looked through and did a couple searches and didn't see anything about this on the Galaxy Nexus forums so I figured I would share it here for anyone wanting to try it. You must be rooted and on an AOSP based ROM. Voice isnt working yet but other than that it's working fine for me.

Good find. Useful for people who require an app for their day to day that hasn't been updated to JB yet, or those unwilling to lose their favorite ROM's features.
Otherwise, you're better off upgrading to JB
I'm holding out for AOKP, hopefully it doesn't take them too long to integrate JB after the source is released.
Is it stable?

I also get a toast message when I open the app that says "Network error. Check your connection." But it functions just fine, there is no missing data connection or anything. Is that what you are refering to? You get the message but it works anyway, right?
it doesn't work with the network error.

fixed with this though.
I purchased 3 movies through the Google Play store. I can download them or stream them. My Nexus 7 will play the movie fine but my galaxy s3 will only play the first 9 seconds. The phone just stops at 9 sec then it will kinda "boot loop" that 9 seconds until I exit. Not an actual boot loop, just the best way to describe the problem. What can I do to fix this? I want to play movies on my phone while away from my Nexus 7. The phone is rooted running stock 4.0.4 I747UCLEM
Thanks
I have the same issue. I'm running rooted Nostalgia 7.5 UCALH1 ROM
I also have this issue
In just guessing, but it may be because your rooted.
My tablet is rooted but doesn't do this
I also have this problem. Tried to watch the walking dead in hd on the google play movies app. At 9 seconds it goes into loop until i stop it. Any kther ideas besides that we r rooted? I would really like to watch the new walking dead lol.
Thanks
I am also having this problem on Jellybean. Downloading my movie now to see if it's just with streaming.
Downloading it made no difference.. Still crapped out at 9 seconds
I'm having the same issue. Thought maybe because I was rooted but that gives you an error message and wouldn't let you actually start streaming. Works great on my Nexus 7 but I get exactly 9 seconds in as well.
Are you on a DeOdex'd ROM too? I have not seen it on an odex'd rom or CM10... Just DeOdex'd TouchWiz.

Yeah. Running Frosty JB right now. Just flashed Toasted Marshmallow by ...Awesome... now. Gonna restore to Frosty in a little bit, odex it and find out if that solves the problem.

Just odexed and couldn't get it to play past 9 seconds
[edit] Wanted to see if it was only on the S3 so I downloaded Google Play Movies to my fiance's phone, my old MyTouch 4G rooted and running ICS. Played no issues. Apparently this issue is isolated to the S3.

So I tested the issue out on a CM10 based ROM with no issue...what ROMs are you guys all using with the 9 second freeze?
This is the ROM that works for me.

I'm on JellyBombed v11 and have the same 9 second freeze. I even restored back to the stock rom (still rooted) and i got the freeze.
Is it confirmed that CM10 based roms don't have this issue? Thx for the help, glad i'm not alone in this.
I have this problem as well. Galaxy S3 T999. Currently running Wicked ROM v7. It's a TW based ROM. I just uninstalled it for now. Luckily all I got were some free TV episodes, and didn't actually sink any money into it.

Was there ever a solution to this problem? Its made its way over to the S4.

An official one, no. However I do not have the issue anymore. The only thing that I can think of is that I am using a slightly modified kernel by freeza found in his deodexed MD4 thread. There might be a list of tweaks done to the kernel in there. Or try asking him.
Hope this helps!

Same issue...
Has anyone got any more info on this? I have the same issue with a sprint s4.
I'm also seeing something similar on an M919 S4. I do think it may be kernel-related, because I didn't see it on stock; I only got it once I tried to flash a Google Play Edition rom (mrvirginia's "Virgin Rom," which does use a custom kernel). But it also seems a bit idiosyncratic, since there's only one other person in the thread about that rom who has mentioned it, which suggests it's not a widespread problem.
My problem is slightly different than the one described here, though; it still plays to precisely nine seconds and then freezes, but rather than a "boot loop" (which to me suggests it keeps restarting from the beginning and playing to that point), mine screeches to a halt, with the screen not moving apart from a few graphical glitches, and making terrible noises. The "nine seconds" aspect makes me pretty certain it's a fundamentally similar problem, though.
As a side note, I sort of wish Google had chosen a better name for the app than "Google Play Movies," because it's seriously difficult to search for this bug with such generic terms.
I'm currently having the 9 second issue as well, ever since I updated to MJA on my Sprint S4. I've used the stock kernel and KTkernel, still the same issue (I'm currently sitting stock, rooted). Hopefully the update to MK2 might alleviate the bug.
Update: The MK2 update fixed the issue with Play Movies.

Am I missing something? Everything I read, says it comes with Jelly Bean, but I have yet to find it on my phone. I have found some mirrored apks for it, but didnt want to install them if I'm just over looking it on my phone. Anyone have any info on this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
IIRC this comes with Jelly Bean 4.2.x
Well, that would explain it. Thanks.

Nah, it comes with 4.1+ I had it on CM10 on my Atrix forever ago. It just seems it was taken out of our build of Jelly Bean for whatever reason.
After a little research it seems that they don't include it in 4.1 very often and sometimes it is frozen. You can try the apk from here (that is the 4.2 version):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742652
but it may still be frozen after installing and the only way to unfreeze it is to use TiBu or something.
edit: this old version might work better. It says no root required on it.

edit2: that second link points to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28105611&postcount=23
Which I downloaded and installed and got the Sound Search widget with.
This functionality is in the latest version of Google Now. Just open Google Now and say "what song is this?"

Good point!
You can also type it in the search bar. If you type queries in google now, the results aren't spoken either.
I haven't posted enough times to be able to post in a more appropriate location so I am forced to post here.
I have been having an issue when I download or update an app from the play store. Every time I update or install my phone basically lags out and I can't get any response from any touch. It will eventually catch up and return to normal funciton.
I was curious as to why it is doing this? I am currently running XenonHD stable version 5. It happened on stable version 4 too. I am currently using Franco Kernel 366 but it happen with the baked in kernels on XenonHD 4 & 5.
Any suggestions?
Well it's because the memory used on phones is quite slow compared to the rest of the phone, so whenever you install or update an app, and a large file is written to the disk, it basically blocks all other app from accessing their resources.
It's a general problem on android and one that is not easily solved, because unlike iOS, android does not pause all background processes whenever response to user-input is expected.
I too had this problem. Not on one ROM but several. Changing kernel did not eliminate it even. What worked for me are those roms that are close to stock as possible and gone of all bloatware. Try rasbean or atom. They solved the playstore lag for me.

Of topic, but this is the appropriate section. The dev forum, which is where I assume you desired to post it, is nowhere near the appropriate place.
