Hi guys I have already posted my problem but nobody answered so I am trying to specify it a bit more... after installing mimicry it worked nicely but when I rebooted it for the first time it started now when I turn off the phone it instantly turns on... and when I am trying to type pin it reboots as well..
I can access recovery when I remove battery put it back and so... I can run my phone without simcard but after while of using it reboot as well.... I have 4ext recovery.... reflashing the from or flashing different roms doesn't help..
have you done a full wipe? superwipe? fastboot wipe?
when you flash a diffrent rom do you restore anything? if you do you may be restoring what was curropted and causing the issue
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
I always do full wipe
.. cache dalvik .how to do super wipe? I don't restore anything
not a comp right now so I don't have a link, but many roms have a link in the op, or just seach the threads in xda (off the top of my head I think ilwt has a link in the op)
this is a .zip to be flashed from recovery and there is even one with a script that will partion everything to ext4 for you
the cleanest wipe is to be done through fastboot and is my perfered choice but can only be done @ a computer
boot into fastboot mode
from computer open a cmd in the same folder fastboot.exe is in
type into cmd
fastboot devices
if you see yours your good
now type
fastboot -w
you'll see a success
now fastboot reboot bootloader
now enter recovery and flash rom

There is written that darkside superwipe is mainly for sgs 2 does it work on our devices?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
Since you're using 4EXT can you tap on the info button to verify all the partitions are formatted as ext4 instead of ext3?
Also what options did you install mimicry with?
I used all of those features available.. I checked it and everything except SD card is in ext4

there are diffrent superwipe scripts for different phones, if it says its for sg2 just skip it, I double checked ilwt cm7 rom and it has a link to a superwipe there

Edit: Now what shall I do?
Now redownload cm7, the cm7 you flashed might be corrupted
connect phone to pc by usb cable
Boot into recovery
From mounts and storage select mount usb
Your pc should see your sd card now
Copy cm7 file to sd
Unmount usb from recovery
Try to flash cm7 again
This should fix the problem

Can anybody tell me what can i do now?
Im sorry for mu english ..
Go back to stock recovery:
Code:
Reverting back to Stock
- Formatting all the 3 partitions. (i.e. /cache, /data, and /system)
- You will then need to flash a "Stock" Clockworkmod Recovery Image. Links (and procedure to flash) available in the Index Thread
Nothing happened
Did you flash a new ROM after following the steps mentioned above?
Just change mtdpartmap.txt to 250 40 then redo the whole process.
Wipe.
Flash bravo recovery.
Reboot recovery.
Install rom.
flash bravo boot.
Reboot.
After flashing a new rom you must flash bravo boot when already using a custom mtd and if the roms system folder is bigger than your mtd it'll get stuck at the splash screen.

Yes thanks but i have no idea how to do that .. im reading but i cant do that
Get fastboot and adb tools from the given link in the post..
Now download the recovery for our wildfire which is also linked...
Extract the tools as well as recovery.img in the same folder..
Now open the folder in cmd and write " fastboot flash recovery recovery.img " and press enter...
P.s. i am issuming that you have the drivers installed.. or else you will have to inatall them too... In order to check if your mobile is connected correctly when you open the tools folder in cmd type " adb devices " and see if your device is listed.

I've downloaded several different ROMs today, and moved them to /sdcard. I wipe the phone and the cache, and then go to "install zip from sdcard" on Clockworkmod recovery. I've done this several times, and Virtuous Quattro is still here. I'm fairly certain I rooted my phone and everything when I initially installed VQ, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
(Please keep in mind I'm still relatively new to all this phone business.)

well if you don't get any error and, as it sounds, you are doing everything right. I would assume there is an issue with your recovery, I suggest flashing a new one, also I would suggest using 4ext recovery over clockworks as it is superior in many ways.
go to the 4ext website and grap the .img
boot into fastboot
fastboot -w
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot bootloader
now reboot to recovery and perform a full wipe, make sure all is partitioned to ext4 (except fat32 partition of sd)
flash rom of choice
any questions feel free to ask

so even after a full wipe and flash of the rom, you boot back to os and its the same as before, as if you didn't do anything?

is all this correct?

reformat everything except the fat32 partition of sd card, then for safe messure wipe everything and reboot, if you don't get stuck @ the white htc screen then something is wrong (this should wipe your os completley so you won't be able to boot) if it goes into os after a full wipe/reformat then I suggest logging into irc freenode #g2root and get some realtime help
if you do get stuck @ htc screen the pull battery boot to recovery and flash rom of choice

I do indeed get stuck at the HTC screen, but none of the ROMs but VQ is working. Could it be that I downloaded them on my phone and transferred them to /sdcard?

check the md5sums of the roms you are trying to flash, make sure you follow all instructions in the op of those roms, (md5 should be listed where you downloaded and inside 4ext there is an option in the menu to check the sum)

Hi All.
Hoping someone can help a relative newbie.
About 3 months ago I upgraded to a Galaxy S3 and gave my Desire Z to my girlfriend. Before doing so I flashed it with virtuous rom and wiped everything.
It's been working fine until a few days ago when it started reacting slowly to screen touches then continuing to react, ie she would start scrolling a list and nothing would happen, and then all of a sudden it'd start scrolling and not stop despite the fact that she had stopped touching the screen.
She pulled the battery and rebooted and it seemed fine.
Then yesterday it was ok and all of a sudden it tried to reboot.. Since then it has failed to boot, instead getting stuck on a white HTC screen for a bit, then the screen goes blank, and it vibrates and comes back to the HTC screen.
If I pull the battery then hold volume of and power it will boot into hboot, flash up some text and then sit on the hboot screen.
At the top is the following.
VISION PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.84.2000 (PC1011000)
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMmc-boot
Now, I'm hoping I might be able to get it working again but could do with some guidance.
Is it a case of reflashing the rom by sticking it on the sd card and going into the hboot and flashing from there?
If not, then how do I go about it?
Any help very, very much appreciated!

Just take out the SD Card and make back-up of it and Format it hardly ( Fill with zeros ) and also you need to flash a new kernel and a swap enabler.
when you finish formatting the sd card make 128 Mb of swap partition and put the sd card back on.
then find the rom u are using and open that zip file and take out the " boot.img " file and flash it directly via fastboot
fastboot flash boot boot.img

this means you just flashed your kernel.
And this should work for you.

This won't help.
Also, seeing as you're S-OFF, you won't ever need to fastboot flash a kernel, recovery can manage that just fine.

Just had a look through the thread about recovering a desire Z, I'm a bit confuzzled by it all, the there is so much information in it.
Am I right in thinking that the situation I am in is that I have s-off and engineer recovery installed?
So in theory just wiping and reflashing my rom should be ok?
Should there be an option to install from sd card or something like that, or will I need to do it via abd?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
More than likely it is a software issue but there could be more. Best bet is to just wipe clean and flash a ROM via recovery

Just having a quick look at this, when I select recovery from the hboot menu the phone just goes to the same white HTC screen and stays there until I pull the battery. Would this be because I don't have the rom on the SD card yet or is it that the recovery won't load?
If it's a problem with the recovery, can I just bung PC10IMG.zip back on the sd card to reinstall recovery and go from there?
Possibly, but often that's a sign of a fried emmc, it could be other things though. Can you post all the information I ask for
