New Market App (Vending.apk)

He posted below the apk of the new Android Market. Just download and install it with any file manager!

*Make a nandroid backup before installing, so if anything goes wrong you can go back*
What's new:
- A "carousel" user interface that allows users to flip through featured apps.
- New categories for widgets and live wallpapers, as well as more unnamed categories "in the weeks ahead."
- A unified app details page that eliminates the need to interact with tabs.
- Content ratings for applications
- A reduced refund window of only fifteen minutes.

It works on the sgs, tested it. Rename the file to Vending.apk and push it to the /system/app folder.

yea its being rolled out to devices over the next few weeks, i guess this is only for people like myself that dont want to wait a few weeks to get it

Dont like the new market. The green **** (yes.) takes half of the screen space on a 800x480 device that's just dumb. Prolly pushed by publishers in the "featured" who pay money to get there or something.
Descriptions are halved because this green stuff takes all the space. comments, same. List, same.

[MOD][CWM][EI22] Camera - Silent Option + No Low Battery limit

EI22 - Camera Silent Shutter / Low Battery Mod

This is the Stock Samsung Camera App from Gingerbread IE22, which means it has toggle for GPS Stamping as well as the now existing Silent option.
Instructions
- Flash this in Clockwork mod (deodexed Camera app) - wipes dalvik cache, so may take a moment to boot
Once you flash, to check the action,
1. Once flashed, open the Camera App, go to camera settings > on the right tab > 2/2 page > Shutter Sound > Choose "Silent"
2. You will also notice that you can shoot video and photos till your battery is dead

Thank you for this. Wanted to take some pictures the other day but battery was too low.

In this post I originally asked if anyone had tried this with EL30 yet...

[Q] Does the Note II's double panel view work with any given app?

The title says it all, I'm interested if the Note II can handle any app in double panel view.
I use computer almost never, and having a smartphone which could view any 2 apps at a time would be so good and would be a great next phone I'll buy.

Not stock. Only a handful of apps will work in multi view.
But there is a mod in dev section that allows any app to run in multiview

Only certain stock apps are available in the Multi window by default. If you need to add your own apps, there are a few methods, or you can flash a ROM that already have this feature built-in
So far, the easiest is this one, you just need to find the item name of the apps you wish to add, and use the webtool to generate a zip file to flash into your Note II (You need to be rooted)
Here's how mine looks like once I added apps that I want :

Ok, thanks for your replies. At this time I wasn't able to find the mod kylec mentioned about, and the manual method looks pretty creepy, but I'll look into it later, when I actually have the device with me. It was a big relievement to know that there is at least some way to double-panel all apps. It's sad how Samsung doesn't give us the device's full potential by standard.

Remind that even u flash unlimited multi window mod , it wont be easy to use, many apps will be stretched strangly.

that's true - really works :good:
three issues only I noticed are:
1 - status bar is much lighter that the rest of the screen (easy to see with dark background) -> full transparent lock screen is the solution I would prefer
2 - the lock screen clock works with 12h mode only while I use 24h... because I like it
3 - the lock mode doesn't work at the 1st time after reboot and then works fine

The editor in the gallery is very sweet, the animations in the gallery are cool too... I'm using the gallery and camera but not the launcher right now.

Be careful, 3.5 version could contain troyans, Kaspersky Mobile and Comodoro Antivirus detects one:

"Not working" doesn't tell me anything, does it give an error message? This app was made for 4.1.2 TouchWiz by the way.
