lightflow. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...29uc3VsdGluZy5hbmRyb2lkLmxpZ2h0Zmxvd2xpdGUiXQ..
Theres another app called galaxy nexus led. Specialized for nexus and free.

I second Galaxy Nexus LED. It works perfectly, while Lightflow made my notification LED completely nonfunctional.
Light flow works great for me, plus there are a lot of customization. Email the company and they will walk you through how to setup.

Hmmmm, just got GN LED, turned everything on. My Pulse Notification Light is checked and I got nothing. I even rebooted.
Any ideas why the Led isn't doing anything?
Nevermind, it started working. Time delay I guess.

A side from turning on the screen/phone, is there any other way to check charge status? Normally on phones theres a light thats orange when its charging and green when its fully charged. This phone has no lights...

ok thanks, just wanted to make sure something wasnt out on the phone.
Download light flow if you're rooted
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
That's depressing, I'm not rooted yet so that doesn't do any good right now
You don't need to be rooted to use Light Flow.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
You can also download NoLED. It's fully customizable and display charge percentage on screen.
Isn't there supposed to be a led or the pulse light on when the phone is on charge?

I don't why but that app won't work on my phone. I am using AOSP (I compiled from scratch) with google apps and root, nothing else. Does anyone else have any issues? I find these LED apps are hit and miss.

Last thing I want is a bright LED blinking when I'm trying to sleep. The LED is for notifications. If it blinks when charging, how would you know when you got a message?

By the color of the LED light of course.
It has an option to dim for sleeping.
I use it sometimes.

Light flow is the best for LED control IMO. It has a sleep mode that allows you to turn off LED notifications between whatever times you want and you can set notifications for most everything you need.

With Light Flow you can set the LED to stay on without blinking. And it will slowly cycle through other colors for any notifications you have besides the charging/charged notification. Also, you can tell a notification turn off after a certain amount of time
For instance, I have my charging indicator set to be a light green -- then when fully charged it switches to a dark green for 30 minutes, then shut off. So if I'm charging it overnight, I won't see the charging notification in the morning -- but I will see any other notifications since I tell everything else to stay on indefinitely.
You can also set the notifications for charging to be low priority. When a higher priority notification comes in, such as SMS or missed calls, the LED will stop blinking the colour of the charging indicator and only blink the higher priority notification instead.

Is there any way to keep the LED blinking or stay lit when the screen is on?
I'm thinking you can with light flow in certain situations, but to better understand your question, why would you want to?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Agreed that lightflow can do that for you. I just love the app now that I have a phone with led notification again

Keeping the led on kinda beats the point of using led notif..
Maybe OP works at high altitude and needs a beacon to be seen

Why I have it is when I get a text I don't remember when I'm watching videos till I see it blinking and remember. Comes in handy some points.

Then light flow will work. There's an option to have the light turn off only after the specified app is entered.

I'm running Neutrino mod and have tried lightflow. But the LED only blinks if the screen is off. I have found no function to keep it on. am I missing something?

I haven't found an option like that either. I think our only option right now is to use AOKP or try and figure out how they are implementing it and make an app of our own.
As for those of you asking why you would want this, the answer in my case is full-screen apps that hide the notification bar. I have AOKP and was happy to be able to turn this feature on.
So long ago back in the tmobile sidekick days the scroll ball would blink green every 3 seconds and when i notification came in it would blink blue. Anyone kno of an app that will cause our nexus notification light to blink green in standby mode?

So you want it to blink even though there is no notification at all??? Just when its sleeping???
Kinda seems like a waste of battery to me dude. Why would you want it to blink for no reason?

Use light flow. Set a notification for when you have signal and that should be just about all the time. Could also set a different notification for when you don't have signal.
Who cares what the point is if he wants to do it he wants to do it.. jeez. The light flow notification for signal should work by the way.

If its the same as the nexus 4 and gnex, then its multi colored, try using light manager, you can test out all the led colors and such but it does require root I think

I have it turned on, but I still get no notification light, even using lightflow and running the test, I get no light anywhere. Maybe I have a dud tablet.

You turn it on under display > Pulse Notification. Make sure that is checked. Lightflow app is compatible but my notification does not work even when running the test on the app.
I am having the same problem which I don't really mind if the light doesn't work.

I could live without it, but since I got mine at a Best Buy, I'll probably bring it back just so I get one that works as it was intended to.

Download light flow lite, you can use that app to manage notifications for any program you want.
The light only works when you receive a notification with the tablet screen off
