lately(let's say since I installed JB but not sure about it) I have noticed that my writing speed is significantly and even flashing a ROM takes longer than usual.
decreased to less than 3mb/s while reading speed is more than 20mb/s.
I formatted my sd card through both pc and phone but it didn't make any change!
currently I am running cm10(p7) with stock kernel.
anyone else experiencing this issue?!
I searched in many different threads but I couldn't find any related to one x
(there is one for one x but it is another issue)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update:
I mounted my sd card through CWM.
and tada!!! 15mb/s is the writing speed through CWM
but it is still the same in normal mod!!!
From what I have read, this is a known problem with no reliable fix. From what I can tell people are booting into cwm and transferring from there.

Howdy! I recently rooted my 2.2 dinc and I am now getting a SDCard full flag is set notification whenever I toggle wifi on or off. Im only at about 70% capacity on my SD card. Anyone know why I am getting this notification and how to get rid of it? Im running the stock 2 gig sd card and Carbonite Fusion V5. Thanks in advance!!
*update*
I just swapped to a 8gb sd card, using 1.6gb of space and I am still getting this message when toggling wifi on or off. any help would be much appreciated!!
Maybe try a different kernel? That's a guess, but worth a try.
Back up your current setup before you flash a kernel for it though.
Thanks for the input, but I don't really want to risk flashing a new kernel. Carbonite runs sooo good despite this issue.. There has to be a simple explanation for this. I really can't believe that out of the hundreds of thousands of incredibles sold that I am the only one with this problem...
Did you do a full wipe before flashing? Just a shot in the dark here...

hy i am getting verry slow speeds when transferring files of any kind from computer to phone.. i ve tried the sd cadr speed increas, i dezactivated the debugger mod .. and stiil i got the same speeds.. i have an DHD with gingerbred (android revolution 3.3.3)
speeds are about 300 kB with periods when it simply freezes but continue after 10 sec.
at the begining it worked just fine...and it is nothing wrong with computer because i even reinstaled windows
any ideas? ...
Thanks
Not a ROM issue.
Are you using the original SD card from DHD? if yes...you have your answers.
Just a f****** slowly card...
I'm using Super copier, within its a little bit better...
sorry for you. (and me too)
i am not using the default card.. and second at the begining it worked fine till i ve passed to gingerbred i think
Not development please post in correct subforums in future...
Format SD in PC
Then u have to consider speed of card what class is it?
If doesn't do it on other ROMs may be a ROM issue.
I'm not sure if the SD speed tweaks work on USB transfer but try this you can test with SD Tools
nothing worked yet.. any more ideeas????
Are you using the stock usb cable and is it maintaining connection? I had this problem recently. It kept stopping upload/download and it was like I kept plugging and unplugging the USB a bit later. After troubleshooting I realized that the cord had to be bent a certain way to make a decent connection so I went out and purchased a snug aftermarket USB cable. The cable is also better quality and seems to transfer data and charge faster as well. However, this could be in my head.
i ve changed the cable and the same problem ... i formated the sd card..
thanks any way
eny more ideas please
reinstall your USB2.0 drivers
What class card are you using?

Also, have you tried another card to eliminate the possibility of a faulty card?

Definitely a Rom issue - I have exactly the same problem on 5.2.3. If I boot to recovery I get good speeds but in the rom it is naff ........

Awesome to hear that you got the problem fixed!

i was wrong.. it is not an rom issue...so problem not solved yet
There's an app that can potentially increase your SDCard’s read/write speeds.
Basically what the app does is change your SDCard’s cache size (which is generally set at 128 KB on most Android Devices) to higher values like 2048 KB for greater read/write speeds. The link is below - worked for me on my old, slower sd card. The think the app was made by a xda developers member - the app's called SD Speed Increase

Thank me if I helped, thank me if I didnt as well
Hey all. I'm not new to any of this but I'm having a little trouble. Im running cm 7.1 RC and I just flashed the tiamat kernal. Now I'm getting damaged SD card on the top of my evo. If anyone has a link or a suggestion that would be awesommmme! Thanks

I stopped running CM ROMS a long time ago because I always had so much trouble... I tried a bunch of different versions with different kernels and everything and most of them caused some problem with my SD card...
Either it would never be recognized over USB, or it wouldn't be recognized by the phone or all my stuff would appear to be gone
I'd go back to a Sense ROM and everything would OK.. just my $0.02, wasn't worth the hassle
Thanks buddy. Well I hate sense. Itsqay too slow. Think I need a nexus prime. If it ever wants to come to sprint! Lok

If it happened after you just flashed something, flash your backup before that and see if it helps. Also its very possible your sd card just went bad, unrelated to what you just flashed.
I got that a few times with my optimus v, haven't run into the issue with cm7 on hd2, or on my wifes optimus v, it could be because she only has a 2gb card. I always fixed it by popping the card into a computer copying everything off and format. Time consuming but its the only way to fix it.

Hello, I've rooted and S-OFFed Desire (AlphaRev). I've tried different ROMs but there are 2 probs on every ROM, so I guess it is not ROM problem. But it didn't happen before rooting, s-offing.
1. Sometimes when I want to wake up my phone, it just doesn't react and I have to pull out the battery to restart.
2. While mobile data turned on, the phone sometimes stucks. Display is on, hw buttons not working, can't do anything.
The only things I've changed: Flashed new radio, tried different roms; haven't touched the other things.
All the other things are not touched.
Hope someone can help me. Of you need more info, please ask.

What ROM are you on? Try flashing a lighter ROM like MildWilds

Do you think I have to flash different ROM? Im really satisfied with this one. Nobody is talking about the problem like I have in the ROM topic.

You would need a class 6 for the best int2sd experience.
well, do you think this is the main problem? class 4 sd card could cause those lags?
btw those problems usually happen when mobile data are turned on...

getting a new sd card sounds like the best option
thanks for all your replies...
so, the best sd card is class 6? not class 10?
btw do you really think sd card should cause those problems? i can say it happens only with mobile data on...the phone runs well with mobile network switched off
ive just run SD Tools on my phone and the results are:
Writing speed: 5.1 MB/s
Reading speed: 12.2 MB/s
cant say about mobile data
try running it without any mobile data for a week and see if it acts up
might just be a radio issue
the desire does not support a class 10 card
it will probably work but will only perform as good as a class 6 card
so its just a waste of money really if you are sticking to the desire
instances of class 10 cards not functioning have also been reported
well, it might be a radio issue because i flashed one...what radio should I get now? the latest one?
im sure it happens only with mobile data, it usually happens a few seconds after enabling it...with mobile data turned off, the phone worked well for 3 days, then I wanted to use internet..(well, you wrote a week..)
anyway...could you suggest me some radio?

it happened also with RUU...
I've been on the cm 10.1 rc2 since it was released without issue.
I'm constantly listening to music stored on my sd so I know this problem is short lived.
Last night my phone would start skipping every couple of songs and eventually it would stop reading the sdcard. A restart would fix this for about 5 minutes. All of today up until about 20 minutes ago my phone would constantly say "preparing sd" or "sd card removed unexpectedly"
I tried removing and reinserting the sd card multiple times and same issue. My sd card became inaccessible on my phone. I tried accessing it via twrp and it worked sort of. It was EXTREMELY laggy trying to navigate through sd card contents.
I thought my sd card was gone so I put it in my evolte and the phone read it no problem and played my music no problem. I put it back in my s3 and it still wouldn't do anything. Now it seems to have fixed itself but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again soon

It sounds like the SD Card is on it's way out. But you might be able to salvage it. I use SD Formatter. It works wonders. I would back up everything. Then format the SD Card.

Thanks, I'll try formatting it. The odd thing is my s3 stopped reading the sd card completely but I popped it into my evolte and its reading it just fine.

Just an update. Haven't had a chance to format the card but my evo lte has had no trouble reading as where my s3 wont even detect when the card goes in

It is still possible that the problem is the sd card - if the evo has better sd hardware, then that could explain why it isn't affected yet...
But it is also possible that the gs3's hardware is starting to fail - one way to test it is to try another sd card in the gs3. If it reads the other card just fine, that should be enough to reasonably rule out failing hardware (trying the card in a different phone is a good step, but not definitive proof by itself). If you don't have any spare sd cards, see if you can borrow a friend's for a minute (no need to alter their files, so hopefully you can find at least one person who won't have any objections)
