Jelly Bean Reception Lost Overnight - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I've tried this for two days and I'm out of ideas. My Galaxy Nexus (Jelly Bean 4.1.1) lost all bars of reception overnight. Please lend me your expert aid!
Some context: My phone was running perfectly fine for a week after flashing official Takju 4.0.4 using the GN Toolbox, then doing an OTA update to 4.1.1. All of a sudden, all reception is lost with bursts of 1-2 bars of reception for 10 seconds every 5 minutes. The remainder of the 4 minutes and 50 seconds, I'm stuck with zero bars (Note: WiFi works fine). Note that before this, I have had this phone for a couple months with it working flawlessly as well, before flashing Takju (when it was on Yakjuux).
I have tried turning on/off airplane mode, restarting phone, disabling mobile ap, using only 2G networks, changing APN to a numerous different settings, praying, removing and replacing the SIM card, holding the phone in different ways/not holding it at all, moving to different locations around the city (in case it's a region thing), toggling Google Location Services, toggling GPS and NFC, and just waiting a day to hope it fixes itself or that it's a server-side problem.
I am in Vancouver, BC on Rogers with a data plan.
I have not tried flashing a new radio. This is because I flashed to the Takju build purely so I can get OTA updates; if I root (again) and install CWM, then flash a new radio, it is to my understanding that I will no longer get OTA updates. Note, however, that my phone had good reception for around a week of time... doesn't that mean the radio is fine the way it is?
Please help me out... What other things should I try, XDA?
Regards,
Eddy.
===Edit===
In fear of becoming one with the Wisdom of the Ancients (ala xkcd's /979/), I wanted to let everyone know:
I Fixed it without opening up the phone at all:
After troubleshooting that this was indeed not a software issue (it was working for a week!), I approached it as a hardware issue. I looked all over the interwebs to find teardowns of the Galaxy Nexus to find where the antenna is. ifixit has a teardown and is a very useful reference, as are other videos you can find. The antenna itself is a simple "button down" antenna, similar to the Galaxy S2, and this video shows this best. Notice that all it is is like a button clip on.
Youtube's /watch?v=65pvAINg2ME&t=24m34s <XDA won't let me link video>
My antenna must have come loose over time on my Galaxy Nexus.
Instead of opening then entire device up, all I did was figure out precisely where the ends of the antenna are and gave my nexus a tight squeeze in those locations. Clearly, do not sqeeze so hard that your screen breaks... just a tight, safe squeeze. Where are they? I came prepared!

A quick squeeze here, in these two locations and we're back at 3-5 solid bars with no dropped calls!!!

PS: My APN settings are as follows:
Name: Rogers
APN: internet.com
Username: wapuser1
Pass: wap
MCC: 302 (default)
MNC: 720 (default)
PSS: more context: I use my phone a lot with WiFi, using Skype to video chat (e.g. an hour a day)...
PSSS: I have done the exact procedure to get the Jelly Bean update to my brother's and another friend of mine's Galaxy Nexuses (Nexii?) recently; they have not had such problem.

To my understanding, if my phone isn't unlocked or locked to a different carrier, I would not have a week of working Galaxy Nexus on Rogers, nor can I get bursts of working reception, as I would get 0 reception all the time... Can someone confirm if this is true?
Also, did you mean unlocked as in the bootloader? Because it is; it's the only way I could flash to a different image. I've actually got to Jellybean through this mentioned toolkit.
Any other ideas, guys?

GPS doesn't work

First of all, hello to everybody! This is a wonderful forum that I always see!
Here is my problem:
My HTC Touch Pro 2 doesn't work
I've tried to change the radio, rom, different navigators (HTC GPS Tool, TomTom v7,...) but it doesn't work.
It always show a lot of satellites but with no signal and no fixed.
You can see in the attachments below this problem:

Thank you!
are you indoors. Do you have quickgps updated?
I've tested during 50 Km distance in the car and outdoors, but no works.
Always the same :-( sniff
Did you update quickgps???
Yes, I've updated quickgps (execute program and click above update).
I had this happen a couple of times. Solution here was to conduct a soft reset (battery cover off, stylus poked into the reset slot), GPS worked after that

You have to take off your battery cover to hit the reset switch? Mine is on the side and can be used with the cover on. I didn't realize there was that much difference in the various flavors of TP 2.

I got the same problem since i flashed the new official release...
Did the problem happen to start once you updated your phone to 6.5 via HTC's update for SPRINT WM phones? I'm asking 'cause I'm having the same issue, and it only started once I did the upg
I bought a HTC Touch Pro 2 in ebay in english language and it worked like a charm.
I installed HardSPL to change the language to Spanish and nowadays it doesn't work with GPS.
I don't know if my mobile is Sprint or not.
Sometimes my GPS wont find any satellites. SO I stop my data connections and then it works. (found this tip from other threads)
I had gps not working and found out that all VoIP stuff found here was putting an awfull mess.
I flashed to get it cleaned; did not reinstall ToIP and GPS is working fine

Maybe I'm reading into the first image too much, but it says Chipset: SIRF. The chipset in the Rhodium is not SIRF. Have you hosed around with the GPS at all? Did it ever work? Did you try a hard reset yet?
I've changed the chip to SIRF, Q 7200 and Q 7500 but without success.
I've changed to original ROM (South East Asia) and original radio and no success.
I've read in other forum that the solution may be resetting the GPS, but I don't know how.
I think, finally, I will have to use an external bluetooth gps... What a pity!
And I can't send the mobile to the htc service, because the guarantee is out of date.
GPS Problem
I have the same problem from long time ago, phone finds sattelites, but all of them are one over another and no gps fix tried everything, still no luck
I still use my phone without GPS...
I'm sorry, but I don't find any solution.
If anyone has any idea...
Thank you!

first of all, i think you can download a new rom from this forum which may could solve you problem. Some guys make those rom very good, and you can use it immediately after you flash.
Otherwise, today i also have the same problem with my touch pro after update new rom without installation of QuickGps. So i download and install QuickGps, and HTC GPS Tool, but it didn't worked like you.
I try my the other navigate software and this software works. and when i turn HTC GPS Tool, it works too.
So i advise you use some other navigate software like GooleMap with satellite. Also advise you have a soft reset after installation of those software.
Good luck.
I've tried all of this, but no solution: the same problem (a lot of satellites with 0 signal)
Thank you!
I am having the same issue. My GPS worked fine, and then died while in use. No physical shock involved- it was sitting on my console connected to my ATT charger. I was using GoogleMaps while cruising on the M4 when is started whining about not being able to find satelites. Using the HTC GPS Tool, I see a whole constellation of satelites, but none have any signal. I was standing outdoors at the time, under an open sky- no clods or trees or buildings nearby.

Looking to pay someone to get my 4g working again.. $40 up for grabs for success

Alright fellas, I have flashed fresh and noticed my 4g wanst working. I said ok, messed around with it a bit, did some looking around and checked my mac ID on the phone ( under hardware settings ) and on the back of the phone and they match up. I also did the RSA check and I have the two last cruical lines there too. I went into recovery and restored my stock root ( right after you root the first time ) and I still have NO 4g. It says scanning, verify, and so on.
So Im willing to pay someone 40 bucks if they can get my 4g on a custom rom. Im legit as far as paypal and ebay are. Im not out to fuuck anyone. Im willing to pay at the end after its all completed. We can do it via google talk.

unroot your phone and take it to Sprint. Close your thread too.
eveyrthing is good to go tho. When I run wimax_mtd Everything looks legit.
But here is the weird part
"+ in CheckXMLTag.
- out CheckXMLTag.
XML_exist = 0
XML_size = 262144
XML file is not exist!
Dump all properties in Flash. (262144) ........ OPEN ERROR
Dump WiMAX properties failed!
[1] + Stopped (signal) wimax_mtd
$"
seems as if I dont have that XML file..
And when I do this
ls /data/misc/wimax/
I dont get an error, I get "sockets. Does 4g have to be on for that command?
I flashed over a stock deodezed rom and ran this on my PC
ls /data/misc/wimax/
And I got this

}
It sput out my MAC address, and it matches. But Im still getting the sockets thing too.
Do you have a 4G switch widget installed? I had Power switch widget installed and it messed up my 4G connection. I uninstalled it and it worked again.
I have the stock one. I tired to do it under wireless and all ( manually turning it on ) and its still doing it.
Couldn't you just nandroid back to when your 4G was working.
Tried that.. no good. I think only AMon_RA allows that..
None the less I got it working. I had issues with running the tree.xml fix. I kinda figureed it was it because it showed in a earlier scan I did above.
So in short, the XML tree fix works.
another edit: Maybe not.... 4g was on after I did the XML fix but now its booted back off and back to "Scanning"
When I update PRL and profile I get 4g to work. then it drops out around 30 secs later.
Here is the RSA check ( cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 | grep RSA )
seems legit
Not trying to boost my post or troll but just trying to keep people informed, if anyone ever comes across this. But I did a bunch of PRL updates ( as when I did it I'd hold 4g then it would drop ) and now its sticking 2-3 minutes now. I think it may stick now. I seen it go to 3g then back to 4g too. Kinda weird. My dads phone is holding 4g all night long.
edit: Ikept my 4g on for around 5-6 mins this time. But then just lost it to 3g. But again my dad's phone is holding it fine...
What ROM do you have?
Well i rooted and it gave me the sprint lovers. I said ehh and went with frresh. Now Im on a stock deodexed rom.. My dad is on Warm 2,2 and hrs holding 4g all day. Right next to me.

Hi
I was hit the same with this Slot 2 No Service bug.
Annoying but I was able to solve it by doing a factory reset of my HTC One M8 dual sim... (Power + Volume Down -> Factory setting reset)

After boot, mobile data connection establish very slow! It takes 1-2 min till connect to network. If i switch off and on the screen, cellular data working immediately!! Anyone know solution to resolve this issue?
Factory reset should solve all issues (I read on one German forum).. i don't want to do reset!
Unfortunately "factory reset" is often THE solution.
Since that I am more than happy with this update. Battery life restored (it was going down so quickly before that). Dual SIM running smoothly. New smart lock feature based on GPS location is a nice new feature.
My smartphone is great now.
But I admit factory reset is p*** in the *** as I had to disable dual Auth based on Google authenticator on a lot of websites and global reconfiguration took me half a day.

I have same issue , I tried all options with no hope,,, waiting for updates

I did a factory reset, but slow data connection issue after boot remain!
About slow connection... I also discovered after factory reset that my SIM1 setting went to "only 2G" or "only 2G/3G" (not 100% sure).
I had to enable "2G / 3G / 4G auto" manually via Mobile Data.
I did the update saturday morning, then factory reset, then restore from htc backup all my apps. everything's good so far. big improvement of battery life (about 30% improvement) - I've charged it to 95% on saturday and now (after 30h of use) it's on 19% (I streamed an online radio which took 10% in 20 minutes - that's normal, the app eats the battery).
my phone works terrible since update. i think i will have to make factory reset also
after update it's mandatory to do a factory reset (before the update you can make a backup with htc backup and everything will be placed in its own place after restore).
Works perfect after full reset (cache + system settings)
Hello, I have even KK 4.4.4, is worth doing update? Is it the battery life better? There are notable improvements?
Thank you

Samsung a50 Exclamation beside Wifi signal

Hi, this morning i suddenly noticed that my wifi signal icon at the upper right has a exclamation point, i know the meaning of that is that you dont have internet access but what intrudes me is that i use the same wifi with my laptop and it has internet in it, while in my phone i can only use facebook messenger and i cant use any other apps or even search in google.
Hope you u can help me.
Thank you
I've also seen the exclamation point on the wifi signal, I see it every now and then even if my wifi is working. It goes away after after a few seconds but I only started seeing it now after the update. Could it be a bug???
call ur internet provider, probably forgot to pay ur bill

Tested with various devices, only the Samsung A50 has this issue.
As a user of gadgets and devices we are seeking your kind assistance if there was a resolution for this item.

Hi Everyone!
Most of the time the exclamation point indicates that there is an issue with the wireless connection.
Two things: Router device or ISP issue.
For the router device, you can try to perform a power cycle by unplugging the power source, wait for 3-5mins and plug it back in.
If still the same, call your ISP.

Good day to ALL,
Yes, we had already done the basic T/S and also called the ISP provider.
We are trying to remove from the equation the router and ISP as mentioned from the previous post as the "culprit".
But this is a one way T/S, we are asking what if the Developer of the update from the Samsung A50 may have affected the device itself?
We are all trying to be open and not a one sided T/S. It should be both, that's the principle of trial and error.
We are seeking assistance if the update from Samsung A50 may have an affect with the exclamation beside the wi-fi icon then it should be conveyed since there are a lot of clients bought these devices from Samsung.
And flaws should be fixed by their developers, not the router nor the ISP and even the user who bought the phone.
They already profited from it but what of "US" their customer, their "Bread and Butter" who had their billions with sales of their phones that has a bug with their update.
We are not expert nor programmers but users and customer of these devices.
We are remonstrating the rights of a consumer to it's developer of these devices.
Thank you for your kind consideration...

Unable to make or receive calls

Over the past 3 or 4 days, I have been unable to make or receive calls. I had not installed or updated any apps. I've tried rebooting multiple times and ended up doing a factory reset and rooting the phone.
A post was made in an LG phone subreddit that had this exact problem 6 months ago. Updating/downgrading the Google App helped them. I tried this method but was unsuccesful.
Problem: When trying to make a call, it immediately hangs up. When someone calls me, it goes straight to voicemail.
I can still text and use mobile data.
Another post on reddit suggested manually changing Network Mode from automatic to GSM. I switched to GSM/UMTS (dont have the GSM option) and it worked for a couple of days. But that stopped worked last night.
LG G8 Unlocked Sprint Model on ATT network. Had the phone for 2 years. Still on Android 10 version. 11 not available yet.
I have the same problem.
It looks like the AT&T 3G shutdown is causing this problem. My phone is in their approved list of phones that should work after the shutdown. But they seemed to have created this issue. When I went to their store they told me that they have had many customers complaining about the same issue. I am now just waiting for a response to my complaint. The same sim card works on my old G5, which is also in the approved list.
Ya same thing happened to me yesterday, found out my device is not on their "list", and I should purchase one of their products...... Pretty sad
Same thing happened to me. I have the LG G8 and it's even the ATT version but since I'm on a MVNO apparently it's not good enough for some reason and I'm not able to make or receive calls.
Please let us know if you figure anything out. I have been trying to install different MBN files for different carriers in the hope that it will allow me to use VoLTE (which seems to be the issue) but I have not gotten it to work.
Go to settings,Network & Internet,Mobile Networks,System Select,LTE/GSM/UMTS settings,Network submode,and select UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+only.
This is only fix until AT&T hopefully fixes it,but I doubt it.
Also note your data speeds.
Doesn't work. This is all that I have under "Mobile Networks"

Check my post again and I edited it.This is on Verizon LG G8 thinq running Android 11.
Same issue here. The phone stopped receiving and making calls on ATT. Only data works now, sms used to work until I flashed it with Lineageos. Dunno what to do, fortunately my old iphone still works.
