Did u flash the boot.img?
Sounds, as u didn't flash it.
U should find it, in the rom.zip.
But also in the arhd-thread, are the download-links for the right boot.img.

press volume down and power button together till the lights at the bottom start flashing...once the phone turns on press them again and you will get into bootloader..once you are in bootloader connect the phone to your pc and press fastboot..should do it by itself...once you are in fastboot open a command window and enter the following command
"fastboot flash boot boot.img"
once you done that just reboot and you should be good to go
or if i am not mistaken there is an installer mod were you still need to be in fastboot but just by pressing what system icon you are the flashing process is done automatically..guide is in the first page of ARHD thread

It's very important though if you answer the question above. Do you have an s4 or a tegra 3? If you're not sure, do you live in america or somewhere else? If the latter than you're more likely to have a tegra 3.
To flash boot.img, you must open the zip file of the rom you downloaded. and then extract the boot.img to your fastboot folder
in cmd.exe you type
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache

I'm helping cause when i moved to htc i didn't even know what the hell fastboot is. I did do my research but i honestly have got to admit finding the information needed was not as easy. Everyone just says "yeah search and you'll find it." But then you end up searching and you end up seeing multiple results and thinking what the hell?

Aye, I've been HTC all my life, back when RUU meant updating the nbh on a winmo, and you needed hspl So anyway I'm really accustomed to them so when handed a Samsung I was like... Odin? Download? What? I think there should be a good guide comparing boot loaders because it isn't easy to switch!

I always flash a new radio with recovery and I have now been told this is not the correct way on doing this, But all radio flash tutorials I have read say to do it this way.
What all your votes on this?
Depends on if you have modified nand partitions. If you have one with a cache partition to small to hold radio you HAVE to flash from fastboot.
Apart from that I believe there is little difference in the risks associated.

I have stock nand, what's the limit cache on that? new radio is out its a 11mb zip
Am worried using recovery now lol this will be my 4th radio flash with recovery and not one single problem?
it is generally safer to flash radio from fastboot.
if it can go wrong, then it is defienietly more probable while doing that trough recovery.

Stock should have 40 mb cache, if i remember well...sure you can flash it via recovery then, but fastboot is still safer imo.

It's your choice, tho bricking is more frequent with that way: if the archive gets damaged recovery will flash it anyway and eventually brick your device, fastboot instead doesn't allow you to flash a malformed image, afaik...

Yep, you can use it (i got the same os), but in order to do that you have to download the android sdk and set up adb properly. There's a lot of tutorials on how to do this, here's the first i stumbled across:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-adb-and-how-to-install-it-android/
Imho it's a rule of thumb to have a working adb/fastboot if you wanna be into the rom flashing thing: sooner or later they'll save your arse

As long has the zip file is not damaged you should be ok flashing in recovery. So if I just check zip file befor flashing for error's I will be fine?
Right sorry about this but I'm having a little problem trying to flash the Sony Beta so I can flash another ROM. Basically, I've just unlocked bootloader and then I go on to the next bit that says flash these three images separately etc...
Anyway I go to flash the first image and cmd just hangs on "waiting for device".
I think I've got it all set up right. I'm guessing I need it in the mode where I hold search when I plug it in and the blue light comes on right?
Anyway I'm guessing I'm missing something very easy. Help would be appreciated! Thanks!

did you put in into fast boot? hold the search key for a bit then plug in usb, the blue light will then turn on and you'll hear your usb noise. Then you hold SHIFT on the folder of fastboot and of course flash it, it will run after that

nah it should only take a sec for the boot img and depending on file size of the system etc it should take a min but the fast boot cmd would give you any errors if something went wrong

if you unlocked it then its unlocked, which you can verify by the blue light if it stays on while the usb if plugged try that method ^ and see how that goes if it doesn't let me know
also you can try another method which i did but im a cdma user and i used dooms kernal by flashing of course then installed official sony then back into fast boot and install stock kernal which booted up fine but cdma users have bugs no texting etc so i just went back to stock,

Thanks so it really is that simple or am I missing something seen lots having problems with boot loops etc is there anything else I need to be aware of

3 Boot my phone into boot loader
4 Connect to PC and in fastboot (phone shows fastbootusb) fast boot flash boot boot.img
5 Still in fastboot fastboot erase cache
5 Boot into recovery (connected to PC or not?) Full wipe then install the ROM followed by installing the updates through recovery

Download fastboot files from here http://d-h.st/18C
Extract files to c:\fastboot
Extract your boot.img from rom.zip to the same directory.
Open a command prompt, then change dir to fastboot dir
Use commands given by Marcel to flash the boot.img
It seems to me that you have never flashed the boot image files before, hence your roms never booted. Because of s-on status for our one X, flashing boot.img files using Fastboot is the only way.
Just a warning. You don't seem to know what is required to get this up and running. Maybe it's a good time to stop and think what you are doing. Just a friendly warning. Please read some first.

Hi guys,
I'm new in this section because I had an HTC One SV, but today I receive One X. Now... I have a very serious problem: after I flashed a custom kernel, HTC doesn't seems to boot, but it it's stuck in the white screen with the green HTC word. I tried to flash another kernel and stock kernel too, but this doesn't seems to be useful... Please help me!!! (I'm not S-Off)

I tried many times and finally, my HTC booted until the lockscreen. If I tried to unlock, it returned that White screen, but my PC recognized it and I could copy Viper ROM inside it. So, I flashed the ROM and now it work. But if I want back to stock? I don't have any nandroid backup and; I don't know why, I can't do S-Off: using rumrunner, it does all the procedure, but it stucks on pouring: it arrives to pouring (8) and then it says me to reboot and retry. So, what can I do?

Well, I understood. Thank you so much! I've found a nandroid yet, but I'm having problems with the process "HTC.opensense.social" or something similar because it stopped improperly. Sorry if I do so many questions, but I'm n00b <_< Thank you

I did yet before restoring nandroid! But I didn't flash the boot.img because after restoring, I flashed a new kernel from recovery and from fastboot. The cause could be the custom kernel?

I flashed this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586808
Now I want to try another because it has overclock to 1.7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138586
Is this good?
Ps: doesn't matter the error: I'm going to return to viper, so don't worry
