Does anyone know why this happens? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I am using my phone like normal and suddenly every word on the screen looks like its jumbled up. I have no idea why this happens but it goes back to being normal as son as I hot reboot my phone or kill the app. I have posted a screenshot of what I have described above.
Many thanks to whoever replies.

Common issue with just about every ICS rom for the DZ/G2, usually have to force close the app (manage app) to get it to go away for that app. Fortunately it only seems to happen so often and usually to a specific app when it does.

Oh okay then, I thought I was the only one who's phone suffers from this problem...it usually happens when I'm boasting in front of my bro who has an iPhone about how awesome Android phones are lol... but thanks for the quick reply!

Yea it caught me off guard too the first time, a little googling and searching XDA pretty much cleared it up. I rarely get it but least I know when it does happen it's not a big deal, usually only shows up for me in the play store.
The layman reason would be because DZ/G2 has no official ICS drivers as of yet, so just bout everything is ported from other devices or rewritten so it may take some time before it's rock solid. Fortunately though most of the work put into ICS can most likely be applied to Jelly Bean (i.e.: 4.0.* -> 4.1.*)

Looking for a live wallpaper with raindrops on it.

Basically, I'd like a wallpaper that just has plain raindrops fall on it (into the screen). Something like this image:

Those were pulled from the new dual core lg phone, and as an avid reader of androidcentral i happened to remember. There's one on there that is exactly what you're looking for...i think. Read it up and give it a try.
EDIT: i gave it a try, and idk if its what you want. It was a little boring for me. But hey! You might like it.

Argh, this is almost perfect! The only thing it lacks is the ability to set the background and control the frequency of the drops.
That's gay..they force you to register to see download link. Can someone post it?

[Q] need help with a strange screen problem

I have an HTC Desire Bravo and it suddenly developed this screen issue.
I uploaded images of the phone to my flickr. It seems that perhaps the lcd oil has leaked or maybe water has gotten in. I'm sure it was caused by pressure on the screen as the LED backlights are more visible round the sides now and the inside screen (LCD) seems curved outwards but the outside (digitizer/touchscreen) doesnt seem bent. anyway here's the links to my pictures, If anyone finds a way to fix it without sending it off to get a new screen please let us know!

In order to fox the screen yourself it literally requires you take take apart the ENTIRE phone from back to front. I'm sure you can find a guide on Google, but you'd be really putting your phone at risk if you haven't got any experience with this.
You can't fix this yourself.. needs to be sent for repair, you'll only make it worse mate

I kinda figured. I was hoping to see if it was possible to open the phone and just blow air between the screen and digitizer.. that way i could theoretically pop them apart with like a bit of surgical tubing and an industrial strength blower.
But if the screen isnt connected with a ribbon and is just silicon stuck on then i'm not doing it. HATE that silicon ****.
Oh and thanks bortak
I had the same problem on my Samsung jet. It's a LCD leak. U can fix it ur self but it is very complicated and requires you to dissassemble your phone ..

MIUI and tango on evo 4g

Hello, haven't posted in a while. Just wondering if Tango video chat works with MIUI. I'm currently running MIUI 1.10.14 on my evo and can't seem to get the front facing camera to work; it keeps showing me a green screen. I've search this forum for the last couple of hours to see if this questions has come up but with no luck. If there is anyone out there that may know where to point me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks a bunch guys!
I could be mistaken, but I don't think MIUI supports the front camera.

Thanks for such a quick response. Would that be just on video chat? The reason asked is because when I take pictures the front camera works just fine. Just curious, I really appreciate your help, I'll continue to search and thanks again.

proof is in the pudding...
when you update make sure you wipe the cache and dalvik cache or whatever it is called, that's all i ever wipe. a lot of people would recommend a full wipe with the clean install. it cuts down on the glitches.
YES YES and Maybe..
Yes, the front facing camera is supported, I'm tired of hearing ppl say it isn't. All you need to do is adjust the resolution of the camera and it works fine, although within apps it won't allow you to change the resolution, so I would say maybe it does work, maybe it doesn't. Worth a shot.

Read my blog man, easy to find online.
thanks for the info and pricing on your blog.
I've always wanted a physical keyboard for those quick (but long) emails I find myself sending when I'm away from my laptop.
Might have to take a look at this little guy, thanks for the info!
Glad you guys like the idea. After a couple weeks of use, no complains besides the fact that S2 doesn't really have ALL of its shortcuts corresponding to the available ones.
Thanks for this recommendation. Purchased!
I find that such small keyboards are easy to carry around (obviously!), but too easy to get multiple button presses registered. :/

[Strange Trend] Play

Notice a strange trend?
Perhaps the "Play" name is an indication that the Market was sorely lacking in BDSM content?

LOL... That is kinda funny...
I just noticed the plumbers crack. A whole lot of whips + a butt shot, more disturbing by the minute.
The rise of whip apps is caused by the most recent episode of The Big Bang Theory, in which it's used a lot
Three words. Big Bang Theory.
The whip app was in the last episode and it was funny as hell. You guys should watch more TV. Have to admit I got a huge amount of laughs using the whip at work. Haha!

Bazinga!!!
Lol. Looking at the OP it took me a minute, and a Google search, but I got ya. I was just about to add that its probably because of TBBT, but that's already been said. I'm not even going to lie, I searched for "whip" in the Play Store and downloaded a few of those apps myself. One didn't sound right and the other took forever to load and then when it did load you have to manually switch to the right whip. Sooo.. Did anybody find a good app with the right whip sound and doesn't take forever to load? lol
