ROM/kernel/radio - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So which is the best combo for battery life? How long have you lasted and what's your battery capacity; stock or extended(if so what's the mAh).

I've been running Gummy 1.0.1 for four days now with no issues. My Samsung extended battery seems to be lasting longer with the governors that are included with the ROM. I would recommend YouTube to get a feel for the different ROMs available.

I've always used MIUI on my Nexus S. I want to see how it is on the GNex first. ARHD intrigues me because I love the Stock android feel and don't like the launcher overlay some ROMs use.
What do you think?

Stock its really good at everything... If you want feature rich rom + stock feel i suggest AOKP Milestone 5 + Franco kernel

Post your battery stats and rom/kernel combination

played temple run and browsing.. made few calls as well.. is this good battery life??
That's pretty good.
My normal is AOKP M6 with Jame Bond 3.1.9.9 kernel.
Although I'm thinking I'm sticking to the AOKP JB nightlies now. Just using Jame Bond 3.4 kernel now.

please guys.. post your battery stats. it will be really helpful to a lot of people to choose roms as we give a lot of preference to battery life.. thanks

That is actually pretty good. It also seems like you play games and that drains the battery pretty quick, especially since is using the GPU much more than in regular use.
I could have never ever achieve this kind of battery with my HTC Sensation even when running CM9.
Here is mine. Using stock but rooted JB and stock kernel.
Used for browsing a lot, Twitter, Facebook, Texting and YouTube videos.

Hi! I'll be going abroad in a couple of days and while I have tested most JB roms I'm not sure which rom has the best battery life. I'm currently using Rasbeanjelly and Trinity Stable 35 and I only got 3hrs of screen on yesterday (however I did have 3G enabled most of the time). Can anyone please suggest the best ROM for battery life ?
Thanks

From what I know no extra apps needed, and I don't think it adds say an hour of battery life but it does add maybe 10 - 20 minutes. Obviously I can't run the exact same battery tests over but it does feel like my battery lasts longer. Could just be placebo though

Currently trying out the Jame Bond Kernel. The attractive part of it is that it's already undervolted and so far seems stable. Feels like i get a bit of extra time, but it isn't a major difference.
JameBond 3.4 and Franco milestone 6 are the kernels I use..both give great battery but JameBond 3.4 is pretty stock and Franco has a bunch more features..

(Q) .Best custom ROM with Touch Wiz on JB without themed stuff?

The title say all !
I really love the stock look of my GS3 (t-999V) but I need a ROM with good battery life and couple of improvements tweaks. No themes at all ! Looking for smooth and stable daily use !
Which ROM y ou advise me ?
Thank you

Frosty jb I think. Only thing that is themed is pull down bar and even then slightly.

FrostyJB's battery life is wayy better than stock, you'll notice it right away...and after like 2 or 3 full charging cycles you'll have even better battery life.

If you want Samsung Cam then you're stuck with Touchwiz. Just use a different launcher

[Q] Best kernel with CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly?

Recently i installed Cyanogen 10.1 nightly Rom on my nexus.Working quite smooth and lag free. But the problem is very POOR BATTERY BACKUP!! Battery only lasts for 5-6 hours! AOSP had very decent battery backup(maybe good KERNEL??)..
So any advice??
Do i need to flash different kernel?
I would recommend the trinity kernel .then I would invest some time finding the best under volt frequencies.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Definitely give Franco a try.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Standard answer to this question: Try all of them and see which works best for you.
i would def give Air kernal a try ive been using it on the AOKP Linario and I get easily 16-24 hrs of moderate to heavy usage:good:
Are you sure it's because of kernel? Perhaps you have installed some rough app that drains your battery. I'm on CM10.1 build 17.12 and getting pretty good battery life so far.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Faux should be on the list to try
