which drivers tend to work better for our phone? i installed the samsung drivers from their support site, but when i plug my (stock) phone into my computer while in recovery, it fails to install drivers, which would cause problems if i wanted to use any adb commands while in recovery. it istalled fine otherwise, while in debugging and in download. some users have mentioned using the naked open source drivers from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161769 and i am wondering if these work just as well or better. thanks for any help!
Install the naked drivers while your phone is connected and in recovery. They will be used in recovery only; the Samsung drivers will be used when you're in the ROM.
Works great for me.

Please help! I have all of the following problems.
What's not working
- Samsung Kies, official Samsung drivers, AND "adb mount" or "fastboot devices" aren't working!
- My OS got wiped, and TWRP 2.4.0.0 always fails EVERY ROM install! I'm in a boot loop
- TWRP's Fix Permissions fails every time.
- I'm assuming it isn't rooted even though it was rooted before all of this happened, because every time I reboot TWRP asks if I'd like to install SuperUser. It never successfully roots the phone.
What's working (thank God)
- Odin can install various versions of TWRP or CWM Recovery
- TWRP and my stock Download mode work.

GRR. I want to throw my Android against the wall!
PLEASE HELP!!
s-off???? LOL
You need to Odin flash a stock rooted Rom. After it boots up, install goo manager from the market and use that to install twrp. If you want to flash a custom Rom, dl it and install it from directions in the first post of the Rom thread.

If you mean that anything you put in your usb ports don't work then i had that problem yesterday. Just get your windows disc you used to install your operating system and click repair ystem then restore your computer to atleast a week ago and you should be good, if thats the case.
all I know is I can't get ADB and kies to work on Win 7. I had to use Win 7 for it.

Since you don't have a ROM on the device to flash, you need to solve the drivers problem. Then you can transfer a rom with adb push command, or flash stock with the toolkit or manually.

You must get it to install. Where did you get it and how did you try? There are several options, see Galaxy Nexus 101 (a sticky thread here). Try them until you find one that's working.
use the wugfresh tool kit go in to bootloader and flash back to stock than go from there

In Windows, try installing the drivers again. The fact that they work in normal boot doesn't imply they'll work in recovery. If you are in TWRP recovery and adb doesn't work it's 99% drivers problem.
Try removing all drivers and reinstalling. Try installing from other sources, like "Universal Naked Drivers" or a toolkit. Once you get adb running pushing a rom will be easy.

You will need to use the ADB sideload feature of TWRP to upload a rom to install. Research ADB on how to use it as well as the sideload feature of TWRP. You will need to connect the tablet to your PC for this,.

NRT has and does everything you need:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389107
As long as you can get the ADB drivers installed on your PC, you can click Advanced Utilities "Launch," then "Flash Zips" and select a rom zip on your desktop to flash to the tablet.
And as for adb drivers, here is a link to a post by Koush with a driver install that should work without any issues.

I've done what the OP has done, and if I recall, getting the device into download mode will allow Wug's Toolbox to pick it up from there. I reinstalled the OEM rom, rerooted and reinstalled TWRP. You can download the OEM rom from the toolbox.

You need to download and extract asus drivers. Sounds like your using Windows OS. You need to go into to device manager and find the device that is unknown and update the driver from the extracted folder. You phone must be attached and in recovery, press apply adb sideload. Then update the driver. If your os is not recognizing your device try another cable. LG has the best cables. If your using linux I wrote instructions on how to install drivers for the fastboot and adb sideload recovery

ive just bought the op3.
and i want to side load the latest community build 3.5.1.
installed latest androidSDK and OP3 Drivers.
when i hit the "adb devices" command in cmd prompt window
it does not show any device...
ive searched and read in a lot of threads and forums before posting here and would appreciate any help!
im running the latest oxygenOS (no Root, Bootloader still locked)
ADB + OEM unlocking is on.
PC: Windows 8.1 x64
tnx
If ADB is enabled on device, then I can only assume that it's a driver issue.

Try connecting another device by USB and make sure your drivers are working and if then try adb wireless .(root) if it's working, then the problem might be with the port. Is USB working correctly in media mode?

When you attach USB cable does device show up at all? Can you for instance access it with a pc file explorer?
I had that issue with one of my One Plus Ones. No problem with one of them but the other one wouldn't connect with adb no matter what. Fastboot devices worked but adb devices would not. I finally used an OTG cable. Loaded files onto the computer, transferred them to a flash drive, then used the flash drive and OTG cable to install them on the phone.
One person suggested an Android app which worked sort of----once. It was so much trouble I uninstalled it.
I had other issues with the OnePlus 3. TWRP would install but not stick when I rebooted. Finally fixed that with the Tookit.
Good Luck

The USB + OTG cable is a bit to advance for my skills.
But thank you for the explanation. Much appreciated.

That's to be expected. If you install a custom recovery then reboot directly to system, the custom recovery will be overwritten by the stock one. In order to prevent this, you need to reboot into recovery right after you install it. It discusses this in the installation instructions on the official TWRP webpage for the One Plus 3:
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.

Thank you. That's the part I didn't know. After several frustrating tries, I was finally able to fix it with the Toolkit. I generally don't use those but in this case it worked well. The toolkit had an earlier version of TWRP, so I used it to install that one. Then I booted into TWRP and replaced the earlier version with the latest one. After a reboot, no more problems.
During all of this I asked for help several times in appropriate threads with no responses......
