I read somewhere that after restoring a nandroid, you'll have problems with moving, deleting and setting permissions in root explorer. Im having problems with root explorer right now and was wondering if this is the case.
Thanks

What are your problems? I'm a huge ROM junkie and never had any issues restoring a nandroid and root explorer. Have you tried wiping cache? And clearing app data?

Root explorer is being wonky. Wont let me mount r most of the time, and even when it does, I can't delete, move or set permission at all.

I've had that issue (and currently am experiencing it). I've always had to use adb to do what I needed because any file explorer gives me issues with root access. I've never been able to attribute it to a particular cause but now that you mention it, a nandroid restore isn't unreasonable. I'm currently on a nandroid

My guess would be to first clear app data then run super user and remove the program from super user then run root explorer again. That should refresh the super user rights.

Ah I had a similar problem with my HD2. Mine wouldn't even boot though. I guess there must be something wrong with either the way it restores the image, or the way it creates the image.

Ouch, I wasn't aware that the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 had CarrierIQ, the battery-draining performance-sapping privacy-invader.
I came from the Sprint Galaxy S2, and there was a fairly involved mod to remove it.

I froze it with titanium with no negative effects so far. When I had an evo3D I had a kernel that blocked it completely from communicating with the network and even if installed again it would be unable to connect to anything. Any developers know of a way to get this done with our phones?
For all of those unaware of carrierIQ its a logging program for usage stats run by a company hired to get user stats for carriers. Its methods are extremely intrusive it can read KEYPRESS logs as well as has access to just about every scrap of data on your phone. Do a Google search. Big brother stuff.

it isn't in the juggernaunt rom i believe the developers already removed the process. the evo 3d has a locked boot loader. Samsung does not like i said try removing it with Titanium back up if it fails well nandroid. I'm actually looking in titanium back up myself. You can actually download the roms and open with 7zip or winrar go to system and see if its there.

I would rename your current calender to .bak instead of .apk so you still have it. Then using root explorer move this apk to system/apps the long press it. Click change permissions and I believe they should be set to rw/r/r. Good luck!

It's pretty simple. However this process still did not work on my rooted SGSII. But for future reference of these types of system files here ya go.
- Use Root Explorer to place the file in the System/App folder in the directory
- If the new file is a different name then you can easily just place it in that folder ( of course you have to change Root Explorer to R/O mode instead of R/W mode ) - ( if its the same name then just rename the old file to something you can remember )
- Permissions for most apps would be RW, R, R. Just click on the file and select "Permissions". After you do that you do need to re-boot the device to save the settings.
Note: I did try this with this calendar and it did not work. We actually need a SSGSIII Calendar ported to work on an SGII. I am not smart enough to make that happen. Although I would like to be able to do such things someday. Hope this helps at least for future reference.
I'm pledging $10 towards the Dev who can get the S-Calendar ported yo the T-Mobile SGS-2. Maybe more if it is done by Monday. I know it's not a lot, but it's what I can give.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this seemed like the most relevant place to post.
I recently put CarbonROM on my phone and, after playing around with it for a bit, realize I absolutely hate the google calendar and just want my old calendar back. I downloaded the apk provided in this thread and attempted to install it but it says I already have the app. Sure enough, if I go to Settings > Apps, it shows up as Calendar Storage, but there is no icon anywhere, such as in my app drawer, that allows me to load the program. I even tried using QuickShortcutMaker, but it can't find the calendar anywhere in the list of apps to make a shortcut. Does anybody know what I can do?
Same situation here with carbon Rom.

I am not sure, but it would seem, S Planer doesn't work on any other ROM than the Samsung Official ROM.
I don't know why... I've testing a lot of possibilities (replace the original AOKP's apk by the Samsung's apk, do a wipe Dalvik, wipe cache, modify the permissions...), a lot of apk (recovered here, recovered on an original v4.1.2 samsung's ROM, recovered on the testing v4.2.2 Samsung ROM...), and it never work on my CyanoGen Mod 10.1...
It isn't an incompatibility with an other home than TouchWiz because I've never use this home with my previous Samsung's ROM and S Planer working correctly...
I will continue to looking to do working S Planer with an other ROM, but I have little hope... :crying:

How do i get that stupid app back? I just deleted it this mrng lol
Just pull the apk from some stock non-debloated ROM.
I am more interested in knowing what system checks it runs before letting you rent/watch/download movies. I restored mine from TiB and when I launch it, it opens, circles and the opens again and cirles again. Never force closes or fully loads up. Almost like an app bootloop if you catch my drift.
In my Googling I found that in the older Vibrant, Media Hub would run a series of system checks before it would let you watch anything. I am wondering what it checks for (probably Root like Google Movies and Vudu) but what else? I have always just deleted it but for some reason this time I froze it.

Here's the apk guys. Just copy it to /ssystem/app/ and change the permissions to match other files in the same folder.
Also I don't know if it will work but I know paid version of SU lets you temp unroot. I think ota rootkeeper does as well.

Hi guys
Basically due to the battery drain, I would like to switch back to 4.1.1. The problem is the stock browser in 4.1.2 has this text reflow (where you zoom in and double tap to resize text width) This is kinda a big deal to me coming from a HTC and I would very much like to keep this feature.
Is there any way to restore this browser onto the 4.1.1 stock rom? I tried uninstalling it via TitaniumBackup and then using my backup to restore the older version, but it just hanged at the "restoring" dialogue forever. I have also tried every app processing mode to no avail.
Can this be done? Or is there any other way to do this without titanium backup? I really wanna switch back to 4.1.1 but can't without this feature in the new browser.
Thanks for any help.
