[Q] TV - Phone - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've ordered a cord from amazon usable on Droid x/evo something. It was only 2.83$ so it was a deal since its HDMI.
My question has anyone used something like this and if so did it work and what rom and will it work for ICS?
Lol I just didn't wanna pay 26$ for a AV cable that probably would suck.

Just got my mhl adapter a few days ago, its sweet. Full HDMI mirroring. Yes it does, with MHL adapter. They're cheap.

You can do the same thing on this device with an mhl adapter. I regularly use it to watch videos or play games.

It does. You just need an mhl adaptor.

Whats the max resolution it can output?

it does charge while using it. although it doesn't seem to be enougglh on mine. it takes down my battery level eventually
Can I watch Netflix through it?

No it will not charge your device unless the tv specifically has a MHL port. Otherwise a HDMI port will not carry enough power to sustain your device, hence the reason most MHL adapters have a secondary USB port for charging.

yes, yes you can. and the above poster is also correct, you need to hook it up via usb for it to charge efficiently. and if im not mistaken, the output is 1080p? it would make sense, since its capable of recording 1080p, and then playing those videos in 1080p on a 1080p capable device (tv or monitor)
AWESOME!!!

Hardware question, micro usb to hdmi adapter???

Ok so I didn't even know that such a thing even existed till recently... I would buy one right now if I knew it would work!!! Does anyone know if it will work with the incredible 2? Has anyone tried it? Now I realize it won't stream a true 1080 or 720 display because the phone isn't capable of that but I've plugged my laptop in to the tv before and it works even if I don't have it set to 1080 or 720. Thanks

I did a little more research into it, sounds like there's no cable that's compatible with the incredible 2... that sucks!

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Desktop dock.

Anyone know if this will work out of the box with the GN? If not would it just require new software or is it hardware incompatible?

I would really love to use this thing if anyone has any idea.

If you mean a basic micro USB dock (like the one here) there's no reason it wouldn't work.

Specifically I mean this one. I like the USB connections and HDMI out. I know that the GN supports MHL and USB host, I just don't know if it all works at once.

Galaxy nexus gaming

Would I be able to connect my Gnex to my TV using a micro USB->HDMI adapter, and then connect a Bluetooth controller and play games? Would this work or would they interfere with each other somehow? Thanks!

Would definitely work. Tried it already

What kind of controller did you use? I'm having a hard time finding one, keeping reading about having to install drivers?
Anyways if this works then I don't get all the hype about ouya.

I have only tried a PS3 controller, which worked fine in my experience. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscompatibilitychecker <-- you do need an app to get it working (that is just the checker you would actually need the paid app). I am sure there are other controllers, but since I already owned a PS3 so I haven't really shopped around.
What is the hype about the Ouya? It is inexpensive. Not everyone has a smartphone or a tablet. Even fewer have one that can manage HDMI out. A lot of the ones that do, are more expensive than the Ouya, especially when you also factor in the higher end internal specs of the Ouya. Also you would have to consider the price of docks, cables, and a controller into this price.

Tv out?

You could go this route:
http://www.cellphoneshop.net/mhlhdmi.html
Read review and make sure the one you're buying works for the Note 2 or S3.
I have one from my ol' S2, bought an adapter for my Note 2 and it works like a charm!
Nope.
You need the mhl adapter like others suggested unfortunately. Unless you can find one locally than there is nothing you can do.
You need an mhl cable. More specifically the one from samsung because they made ours non standard.

Or get smart dock which had hdmi out.
