[Q] will we get ice cream sandwich ?

I was wondering if our phones will get ICS when it comes OTA, and if so will rooting affect getting the OTA updates?

rooting for g2/ changing rom

I'm having trouble trying to find a root for my g2. I also would to get that pyromod 2.0 for my phone as well. if i read the comments right i need permission to use it. any useful info will be helpful.

What version of android are you running?
Assuming you have been receiving OTA updates and have never rooted before, I would think you are running Gingerbread.

I found that link to be helpful.
Basically, you need to downgrade from gingerbread to froyo, then root and upgrade. I would recommend upgrading to Ice Cream Sandwich directly

[Q] What happens if I put a GSM ROM on a R800x?

Hiya, if I flash an ICS kernel and ICS ROM, will the phone not boot? Or will just the service not work? I'm rather curious to try Ice Cream Sammich out...

You'll lose service, and possibly other minor incompatibilities. You can only install GSM roms with an unlocked bootloader

Distortion from earpiece

Ever since I put a new rom (Ice Cold Sandwich 8.4) onto the DHD it started to give a hissing feedback through the earpiece when talking on the phone. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this, or if it's actually a hardware fault?
More information will be given if requested to the best that I'm able.

If you have had this issue only after installing this new ROM, then its not a hardware issue. You can try wiping your phone and reflashing the ROM. If that still does not work, try wiping flashing another more stable ROM such as one of the GB ROMs.

[Q] Problem with exchange email services on ice bean

Hi I've been using ice bean for a week or so and I've been unable to connect with my exchange sync server for emails. Does anyone has a solution to this??? I had the same problem previously and it was solved when i downloaded an official update...
Now that my phone is rooted, i wont be having anymore official updates...
My second question is whether there's any other software better and faster than ice bean??
