Staining on INVISIBLE SHIELD by ZAGG :( Very upset - Galaxy S III Accessories

Anyone else experience staining of the original Invisible Shield from Zagg? I put mine on just a few days ago and I keep my phone in a leather pouch on my belt... the same type of leather pouch you can find at any cell phone accessory store, kiosk in the mall, retailer like walmart, best buy, at&t, t-mobile, etc... I started to see dye stains on the back, and I was like WTF... now I'm seeing a stain on the glass too! unacceptable.
I googled the problem and found lots of threads about staining on the iPad, not so much on phones..... any suggestions??

My suggestion would be to buy a better screen protector and don't worry about replacing $15 back cover of ever need be.

Nah. Read some of the screen protector threads. They have recommendations in them. I use sgp ultra nano myself. But I have a few different versions of "realook" too.
Zagg's an overrated overpriced product imo.

Zagg is pretty much the worst I've ever used, especially for touchscreens...
Rubbery/grippy with an orange peel texture and horrible pixel scattering.
Zagg's customer service is fantastic, unfortunately, their screen protectors are the worst...

Good info I just had one put on front and back on my s3 it is grippy, the heat also seams to be making the back start to lift I should have read more first.

Agreed. Bought a Zagg because it was all they had at bestbuy and it looked and felt terrible. Plus it only came with one protector so if you mess up you are out of luck. Much happier with my Spigen FlexHD. I might try to contact Zagg because I was severely disappointed.

I use the cleartactic off eBay and am very pleased

Zagg New screen protector

Great news. just hung up from Zagg CS regarding the possibility of a matte finish screen protector. He informed me that today BestB will be launching there new smudge-proof screen protector. It's not even available on their website!. My locale BB was aware of it but hasn't received it yet!
awesome, let us know when you get one?
I returned my Zagg for a refund. Same quality as every other cheap stick on "film that protects military helis" out there. Bad orange peel effect and pretty sticky. I personally have found the ones from ATT to be the best 100% slick and absolutely no image distortion protectors. I put a bit of car wax on it at work once or twice a week for ultra sleek and slick feel

True however I've asked in the store and AT&T CS and in both cases they have assured me that their private label (AT&T brand) is Zaggs.

No wonder I don't like those either. Zagg is by far the worst screen protector I have ever used.
So if we've got a current "orange peel" one, think they'd let you return it for one of the matte finishes?

Mine is 5+. It's the fingerprints that drive me insane That's why I can't wait for this one.
I have always used an Invisible shield, and I love it. I can't wait for the new one to come out, which I didn't even know about until now
Thanks for the info. I had no idea they were coming out with a new version. I've never really had an issue with my current Zagg shield, but will upgrade once its time.
I'm with u

Give it some sand. You'll see why.
I hated my original Zagg. It felt like a major upgrade to switch to the 3 pack from the AT&T store.
Maybe the new Zagg won't suck as much.
noob ? is there any store near los angeles ca were i can buy a zagg protector. or is it just online
I think both Best Buy and AT&T carry the original, which sucks BTW.
I really prefer the ones that come in the three pack from AT&T to the Zagg Invisible Shield. The Zagg is thick and rubbery feeling, it slows down your finger and messes up your accuracy when using Swype. It also look bad - picks up finger oils smudges and has an orange peel texture.

What screen protector?

That's the response I always get. I have the Realook screen protector, I think you can only get it from Amazon.
I've been very happy with Ghost Armor.
I like Seidio's Ultimate Screen Guard.
HTC EVO 4G screen protector
This is where i ordered my screen protector, much cheaper than local shops. crystal and just like you never use a protector on your screen.
I forgot the name brand, but I have a privacy protector. Not because I want to conceal my privacy but because most privacy protectors offer the thickest of SP's!
100% recommend Zagg.
Great protection, dosn't smudge, and lifetime warrenty. I have sent mine back twice now (first time was because I managed to get dirty under it, 2nd because I shattered my screen) and I get a brand new set. Peel it off send it back, done.
Hey,
I agree zagg all day every day! Their protectors are cheap thin, the feel is amazing, they protect from scratches and you can beat them up but it keeps your screen safe! they are easy to apply with solution, and best part when you want a new one just pay a few bucks for shipping send them back the old one and its free!
this video says all! hope i helped!

Zagg is by far the best imho
I had ZAGG on mine for several months. It worked great. I took it off because I didn't like the feeling of it compared to the "glass" feel. I've had it off for a couple months and still no scratches and I like the phone a lot better without it.
I just tried the new anti-glare version from zagg, it was horrible!!! It was like looking through crystallized glass, especially when there was white background. I went back to the original zagg and love it.
I use the one that came with my OtterBox. I thought I was going to hate it but rarely even notice its there any more.
Clarivue. Can barely tell the difference between it and the glass. Just bought my gf some generic ones off Amazon for her shift and the quality was really good for a quarter of the price. Don't think I'll be buying the name brand versions anymore but if I did I'd go with clarivue.

I also use the one that came with my Otterbox case. Before that I also used Invisashield(Spellcheck ).
The touch screen is more prone to breaking from pressure or impact then from scratching.
yess finished my fiends...
I have to say Zagg is the best. For one, if you have them (or someone like best buy mobile install it) both the screen protector and the installation have a lifetime warranty. Meaning if your screen starts to peel off, take it back to Zagg get a new one free, and get the new one put on for free!
i dont like screen protectors and cases and mi phone is perfect but depends how you use it
i've used an the otterbox one for a bit and then a zagg when that wore off but now i have SGP STEINHEIL anti fingerprint one. i didnt really care bout the fingerprint part but liked that it was slightly matte so its wayyy easier to see with sunglasses on
I'm using the one that I came with the otterbox. It has been on since September, with heavy use/abuse. Its just barely starting to peel at the corners.

Zagg since launch day. Has a couple of pretty decent "marks", but when the screen is on you cannot even notice it. It is the only protection that I use. No peeling so far.

Zagg! You cant beat the warranty if something does happen to it. If you can find a kiosk let them install it. Its the only thing I will let someone else work on my phone.

Zagg invisible shield skyrocket and t989

Does anyone know if the zagg invisible shield for the skyrocket compatible with the t989? The guy at best buy told me it would work, but i I would to confirm before I open the packaging.
Thanks
Just go on Zagg.com or amazon.com and get the one that is made for the Tmobile Galaxy s2, that would be your best bet.
quite sure it would
they are identical except a flipped accelerometer

they don't have it for our t989. and all zagg's invisible shield are flat $19.99!
Zagg is over rated and overpriced. It feels like rubber on your screen. Go with the classic plastic screen protector.
Zagg can also take quite a beating, a lot more so then the cheap 5 packs you can buy.
I had mine put on a Zagg kiosk. Worth the $5 to save me the 5 minutes. I had Zagg on my Vibrant, was very happy with it. Happy with it on my T989, too.

OT: The thing about Zagg full body protectors is they do offer amazing scratch protection but virtually no drop protection.

They still scratch. My vibrant has several scratched on it now, and get an unlucky one in the middle of the screen and it will distort colors under it and always be noticeable.
I mean I know what you mean, I had no protection on my vibrant because every time I put something on it I just wanted to take it back off because a bare phone feels so sexy, but an expensive phone with scratches (or worse) is not.
For the record: I kept my vibrant in a pocket that SOMETIMES had a plastic pen or mechanical pencil with it. My keys/change and phone where never together. I don't know how I got the scratches, but I did. A few small scratches was not the end of the world, but a cheap plastic protector isn't that bad and can be peeled away later.
Dont forget about miniscule particles of sand and dirt that can be anywhere. They can easily scratch even the hardest glass. I put a scratch in my iPhone 4 and took supreme care of it. Not taking that risk again.

I have the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD DRY full body protector on my T989 and i paid $30 for it at a t-mobile store. The lifetime warranty info was inside the package after i opened it and it comes with the squeegee so you could flat out the protector onto your phone screen. I love it even though it was a little bit pricey, it was well worth it anyways.

Did the same thing today! I put the back on with ease, and I actually like the look of it.
Had trouble putting on the screen protector, misaligned so I peeled it off and redid it.
A few hours ago there were bubbles, but they seem to be disappearing. There's only a few left and it's only been about 5 hours.
If they are all gone with 48 hours, I'll be completely satisfied.
I did save some money from them though.
They had a deal buy 2 get 1 free. I got the dock and zagg, got a free d30 case. Awesome case!

Looking for a slick "Like Glass" screen protector.

So I've been looking at the screen protector threads around here, and while people have been pointing out good deals, and bad ones, I've yet to see anyone really comment about the "Feel" of their screen protector.
Long story short: I HATE the Zagg I have on my Evo 3D. Playing Fruit Ninja and the likes on it is impossible unless I want to coat my screen in butter so it's more slick. A few rounds and I feel like I'm going to burn my fingertips off! Hate, hate, hate. That's all I feel for Zagg. Anyway, I'm planning on leaving the phone naked (No case) with just the screen protector on, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good screen protector that will fit the bill?
I had a Sprint branded screen protector for my original Evo 4G, and it was perfect! It was as smooth as the glass, fit well, and I could hardly see it unless I looked at an angle, so maybe they'll have one at my sprint store on release day. (Albeit at a 50000% markup. Ew...) But I'd rather not spend 40$ on a piece of plastic. Lol.
Anyone got any suggestions?

If like glass is what you want i'm thinking you're gonna have to go with a dry application protector
Thanks for the replies everyone. Gonna go with the Ultra Crystal, sounds like what I want. Reviews on the Flex make it sound like the Zagg, with the wet application and the loss of smoothness on the protector.
Now I'm going to have a pile of accessories to go with my phone that I don't even have yet.

Spigen/SGP said that they won't be making the Glas t glass screen protector for the galaxy s3 because of its curved screen. A shame, but understandable.
Makes me wonder how xgearlive are going to manufacture a glass screen protector with a decent fit.
It won't be able to go to the edge, not as it's curved.
hopefully xgearlive will offer a discount for s3 users, the gnexus has USD 5 off.

Screen Protector Help

I'm a new GS3 owner, and I know they have Gorilla Glass 2. Is a screen protector needed? Besides protection, what do they provide? Asking for some advice, any will be appreciated.
You sure do need a screen protector. I thought I was using my GS3 very carefully, yet somehow it got quite a few scratches. So, don't hesitate to spend a few bucks that will keep your expensive device in good shape.. :good:

Yes its needed, unless you want tiny little scratches from quartz in your pocket. Besides protection? If our screens didn't need protection nobody would use a screen "PROTECTOR" hence that big bold word.
Do any screen protectors reduce glare? & Are there any you guys would recommned?
I'm not a fan of screen protectors, but if I have to pick one, I think the Spigen curved one is the best I've seen so far.
I was not interested in wearing one, but recently got an Incipio Silicrylic case that comes with what seems to be a decent screen protector, so I decided to give it a try.
The quality seems good, but I'm afraid it will peel off because of the curvy screen. This might not be the case, as it is hanging well so far, but I notice something that resembles a frame along some corners (only noticeable if you look at it with good light in the right angle).
Let's see if I can stand it in the long run
So yeah, if I have to buy one, I would go for a curved one that covers most of the front glass.
Go for an Bullkin protector(fullscreen) or an glass one.
SGP curved is rubbish, what a waste of money have I done on those SGP ones.
Bullkin one is in the Mercury thread here from kms108

Never had such a phone, where i needed a screen protector. So i decided that i need one to protect from small scratches. I bough SGP curved. Of course it is very think and cover the whole screen, BUT i think it shows so much fingerprints and the quality is poor (leaves many scratches).
So now i am looking for fingerprint resistan protector that covers the whole screen (i thnik protection from small scratches is by default).
No screenprotector is fingerprint resistant. Only the matte versions have it a bit. Clear ones not.

Spg/SPIGEN makes very good screen protectors. I really like the glass like feel and doesn't have that rubber feel like zagg. Right now I have the zagg hd screen protector on my s3. But that's only cause the person who I traded my rezound for this s3 had it on previously. The zagg hd is alright. Not to rubber feel like the regular zagg. There are other companies out there that make great screen protectors just research on what you want and the feel.
Btw I like your avatar. Been a long time Rams fan since they were in LA. I feel bad for Bradford. We need to give him some weapons to throw to.
