No. As u can see every single general post was removed from each one

Yeah... AT&T should still get a decent amount of traffic considering how many of us there are.. but Tmobile, sprint are probably screwed
Also, they split the forums but STILL have it by the AMERICAN carrier name.
They need to have it by the model # name... ie AT&T would be the i747 instead. That way canadian users wont be confused either
This needed to be done. I support the mods in splitting these up.

I don't know about T-Mobile but I've had a Sprint phone and they surprisingly get some decent development going on for the Samsung/Evo phones. Not so much Photon for example, I don't know if they ever got anything good.

Sorry for the T-Mobile and sprint guys but I agree with the split. Coming from a galaxy s2 it was ridiculous to try and find att specific posts because there was just so much traffic. Not to mention if u posted a new topic, it would quickly get buried.

I only agree with it for the Q&A and two dev forums. The rest should be together, all the accessories are now in the 9300 forum it seems. I certainly understand the problems, but some of that is because some people (developers included) didn't realize that things like CWM are different on different phones now, so we have people with IMEI problems who --appear-- to have used Sprint CWM on ATT phones (I would have been in that category but Samsung replaced my phone already).

Hi guys.
This is my first post and i was doing a little research and couldn't find much of an answer....
My question is.... Does the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch for Sprint have the hardware to be compatible with the new 4G LTE updates that Sprint is doing to their network? I am in Dallas and I should be one of the first to benefit from this network upgrade.
I was told "No" by some.
By others (Sprint Store, Franchise) I was told "Yes, no problem at all. We will do an OTA and you might have to come in to the store to apply some changes but its definitely possible"....
My problem is that i don't know who to trust.
I do NOT want to have to upgrade my phone again to benefit from the 4G LTE upgrade. That's just retarded.
I need someone that has the hardware specifications (and the technical background) to provide a no nonsense answer as to whether or not an OTA update will "Unlock" LTE capabilities on this phone, if the capability exists at all.
Not to be an ass, but i don't want speculations or opinions.
I need a straight-forward and logical answer.
Does this phone have the hardware in it to be 4G LTE compatible or not.
Thanks in advance!!!

What I don't get is most of these people who ask questions about the touch are using a desktop/laptop non mobile so they see what the phone looks like on side of forum they can't be that blind, I swear they do it on purpose. But even if they missed that it still doesn't say "touch" so confusion is not an acceptable answer for an excuse IMHO.

To be fair I think it is pretty well established that there is no shortage of og epic users with an inability to read. Luckily for the people in the touch forums there was probably only one phone called the epic 4g when our non readers started on xda so it is us who get the confused touch folks rather than them who get confused keyboard folk...

If you've noticed, i am a brand new user and that was literally my first post.
I tried to post another topic stating "Hey, my bad, this is new to me phone and I just joined the forum." but i had to wait 15 minutes to post another, because that's what happens on your first couple of posts when your a member that literally just joined.
Instead of replying to ignorance, I decided to use the post, after the 15 minute wait, on a thread that wasn't going to most likely be giving complete BS answers that have nothing to do with the subject.
BUT...
Since you would like to flame and get all red faced over a stupid "He posted in OUR section" issue.... Then obviously you've got some personal things you need to work on. This topic has been discussed before, with our epic's too. Apparently sprint is saying that our 4g radio will be able to run on the lte network with a firmware update. So, even if he DID post in the wrong forum, there's no need to flame because its applicable to our devices also.

Huh? I wouldn't say a majority are related to the GSM Nexus...
Although some may think it'd help, it'd probably do more harm than good considering a LOT of the topics overlap between the 2, and model-specific threads are indicated in the title or 1st post. It keeps us from getting duplicate posts that would certainly crop up in separate General sections, and it gets more eyes on threads.
The Dev sections are separate, that's the only thing that matters.

Yep, this forum is for CDMA and GSM Nexii alike.
If you post a thread though, just be sure to clarify which Nexus you're referring to.
The only difference between the CDMA n GSM are
Different radios (CDMA has a LTE Radio), size, and one is exclusive to only one carrier (till sprint releases theirs )
Other than that its the same phone n 90% if the issues will be mutual

Addendum: I really should say that Rogers, Bell and Telus use the I747, which AT&T also uses. I really don't like saying it's an AT&T I747, because it's not.

XDA is about hacking devices, not discussing carriers. Don't forget that.
Go to a carrier-related forum if you want that.
I, for one, see this as a good change. Speaking as an engineer/developer.

Not really a good change, a step in the right direction, yes. But I for one only want to see Sprint related general/off topic posts when I come into the SGS3 general forum. That's why I ask for the tags. I mean that is a system in its self that needs to be used here ( I would love to see that happen). I'm just saying that makes it so much easier when scanning, and when you don't want to have to subscribe to all the Sprint related topics just to keep up with what your trying to focus on is ridiculous if you ask me.

Tho we wouldn't have to if we had separate forums. I know in the past there were several that would cross platforms from international version to US versions and that was great, but I think it's a bit confusing to do it like this and if you're going to label every thread with a carrier anyway, why not just have it's own forum??
It is what it is I guess.

Honestly I find it annoying jumping back and forth between the tmobile, verizon, att and sprint forums.I know there are subtle differences between the variants software wise but is it honestly enough to create 4 different forums? Alot of the tips and tricks, problems and questions being ask in these forums are very useful and relevant to other carrier galaxy note 2's. I just wanted to get poll and see if everyone else kinda feels the same way. If so, maybe we can get xda to consolidate...

That would be something the developer in the development section would point out. The same could be said of people downloading the internationals versions of roms on US devices or vice versa. When i had my g2 there were plenty of roms that were out for the US device that could not be used on the international (z) device. We still however had a combined forum since in most cases the devices were exactly the same. Same courtesy should be extended to this device.
I too think it's better to have different forums for different carriers even though the phone itself are very similar. It make it easier for people to find out updates that is through the carriers only or roms

Can you believe that there are 7 separate forums for Note2 in XDA? I find myself typing "note" into the "Find Your Device..." field very often to see what models are available, and I actually sometimes visit AT&T sections. I don't bather visiting others because it's too cumbersome.
I think it is more like we should change the hierarchy of the forums; move (combine) all Note2 forums under the "Samsung Galaxy Note II" forum which is already there, but keep each variant (different models) into different sub-forums. We would have a separate dev sub-forum for each carrier plus a general dev sub-forum to cover universal matters, but a combined themes sub-forum, etc.

Merge them, put GSM dev, CDMA dev, then if you really want within those have the carrier sub-forums. The sub-forums would be for things like modems. Accessories forum is already shared, if they collapsed all LTE note 2 sections to one device it would make life easier and devs would not need to have 3 or more threads for multi-carrier ROMs.

I'm wondering what it is about Omega Rom that's so amazing... I see that they have a 4.2 version of it (I believe the 4.2.x version is based of a leak and not an official update). Other than that, though, I didn't really see too many other options that we don't have on TW Roms over here at d2spr. It might be a bit more polished, but I think ours are pretty darn good.

You know I went over to the international GS3 forums and I think I figured out what the problem is. On our forum on the main page is says "Samsung Galaxy S III L710" but on the I9300 forum it just says "Samsung Galaxy S III". Maybe someone can get a moderator to change that to include "International version" and maybe we'll have less people with bricks, because it seems like the mistakes usually aren't between variants within US, it's usually a mistake involving international vs US carrier ROMs

None of the international phones say "international" and this has not happened there. There is an international Note 2 and GS2 that do not have this problem. Even a capital letters sticky that says these ROMs are only for the international version has not stopped some. If people are going to blindly flash their phones without reading it does not matter what the phone is called. They should be checking model numbers.
